I am joining SW next week and I have a lot of weight to lose (I mean over 7 stone)
Is there any one else with a long way to go who fancies a bit of moral support ??

I have tried loads of diets over the years and just feel so daunted that I have such a lot to lose. I know that any diet and exercise will work but I need to stick to it long term

I am not looking for a SW thread just a long long way to go one....

Morning all, well done everyone, it's great to read about the losses and the will power!

Another 2lb off here so 4lb in the last 2 weeks, quite happy with that and finding it a bit easier now. Have not had any bread in those 2 weeks and only 1 glass of wine (normally would have eaten loads of bread and at least a bottle of wine a week!)

Keep up the good work everyone..

May struggle to be good today as my 2 year old is in brat mode and chocolate is usually my friend!

bigbellylady · 19/01/2010 06:32

I lost 4 1/2 lb this week so 10lb total.

I am really pleased especially as I almost got a kfc last night as had a bad day at work. I managed to talk myself out of it but twas a close call.

I am going to go for it this week as I am 4lb off a stone loss and may get on the cross trainer for the first time in about 6 months.

Congrats everyone on the weightloss. I've lost 2lb this week, making 8lb in total.

Keep up the good work!

AngryFromManchester · 19/01/2010 08:23

This looks like the thread for me! I thought I had 3 stone (ish) to lose but I am almost a stone heavier than I thought I was How is that for denial?!

Phoenix4725 · 19/01/2010 09:11

kurves · 19/01/2010 17:28

hi girls i started to eat healthy from last week tuesday and i have lost this week 6 pounds i am very happy to see the scales going down for a change, i will keep it up. The method that i have been using is weight watchers counting points i have cut out adding suger to my food and drinks and no added salt and also no cakes or choclates that will be a treat when i have lost my first stone. I now know that was why i was putting on the weight now if i need a treat it is a cup of weight watchers hot choclate that is only one point and cuts the suger cravings. thanks girls i started late butb better late than never. Good nluck to those on ther weight loss.

phoniex what method are you using and how much have you lost so far.

EccentricaGallumbits · 19/01/2010 17:56

you lot are doing so well.

I'm off to fatclub shortly. have been denying myself cheese and wine and butter and fat and cake all week so am hoping it has made a difference.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 19/01/2010 18:02

Eccentrica good luck!

kurves well done, that is a great loss

Angry - hello

Still doing well with exercise, I'm doing a mix of pilates and cardio. Not showing up on the scales yet though

Phoenix4725 · 19/01/2010 18:23

im calorie counting bit of mix and match since i am not very good at sticking to a set one.

i started on the 1st of the month lost 14lbs first week 6lb on Friday so 20lb so far but first lot some of it was down to a dodgy tummy thanks kids not quite what meant by sharing

And think some of the 6lb has been down to a lot of stress atm though am pleased as have so far manged to advoid my normal comfort of food .lots of early nights stop the picking

EccentricaGallumbits · 19/01/2010 20:59

well done on the exercise phoenix. I'm struggling at the moment as I have lots of lectures so I'm sitting in the car, sitting in a room, then sitting in the car, then knackered in the evenings. my back is also bad. as soon as it's a bit bettter i hope to get out and about a bit more.

I lost 3.5lb this week. hurrah!

may need to celebrate with some toast and a glass of red.

Luvvies · 20/01/2010 16:21

Well done EG and everyone else.

Kurves are you still planning on doing Alizonne - just that it sounds like you have made a good start on your own?

I'm doing well away from home this week. Last couple of evenings I've had healthy stuff such as chicken breast, salads, fruit. Lunch yesterday was an uncle ben's express rice - not particularly nice, but did the trick. Today was working lunch and I was last in so the sandwich selection was rubbish and I only had one quarter ham sandwich with mustard, which I hate, but didn't know until I had taken a bite. Yuck. So I need all my extra will power tonight not to go and get bad-for-me things.

I'll get about 45 mins walking in tomorrow, so that will help!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/01/2010 16:22

Eccentrica - well done on the weight loss . I saw your eclair thread, good willpower!

Finally the scales are starting to shift - I am a whole pound down!
Another inch off my waist though

kurves · 20/01/2010 17:41

Luzzies it seems that i may not have to do it after all and save some money i decided that i would try the points counting method and exercise to see what could happen and so far it is working i am not hungry any more and really have revamped the way that i eat today i had a baked chicken breast with pak choi and 4 new potatoes with a glass of orange juice and i am full in the mornings i have breakfast and try to munch on fruit through out the day. if i do go to the clinic it may be for the fat treatments and treatment to get rid of the cellulite as i want to be able to wear shorts.

Luvvies · 20/01/2010 17:52

kurves that sounds great if you can save some money and it sounds like you are eating really healthily. You'll be able to put the money to something lovely non diet related, or perhaps choose expensive food things you wouldn't otherwise want to pay for. Keep it up, you sound like you're doing really well.

EccentricaGallumbits · 20/01/2010 22:01

dreadful wind. any tips?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/01/2010 22:05

Drink lots of water and it will get better in a few weeks, it's just your gut adjusting.

mummymels · 21/01/2010 00:46

Hi everyone, is there room for one more on this thread. I have lots to lose although I started a while back so have lost some already but still more to lose. I have been doing Go Lower and have found it working really well for me.

EccentricaGallumbits · 21/01/2010 16:39

always room for one more but you may need to bring your own chair or we'll break the sofa!

any more tips for wind?

it's either the massive amounts of beans i have been eating or the sugar free polos.

mummymels · 21/01/2010 18:13

lol, I can bring my own chair.

I wish I had tips for wind but I'm afraid I don't know what helps but maybe drinking lots of water. Good luck!

kurves · 21/01/2010 19:18

when i started i had lots of gas it was really bad but i drank a lot of hot mint tea. I am doing alright today they rung me from the clinic today and said that i sound like i do not have to do the diet as i am doing well on my own i may consider doing the body treatments as my dream at the end of this is to be able to wear shorts a nice taloired pair with some nice heels . ooo my dream goes on and on and on I have another session at the gym in the morning so that should be fun i have to force myself not to weigh as i feel that that can mess me up if i do not see what i want to see today i have started not to eat after seven as my problem is late night eating so i can trget that issue .

Mummymels welcome how much have you lost so far the people as really great here they have me hooked.

EccentricaGallumbits · 21/01/2010 19:37

well done kurves - that sounds like really great news. I may try the mint tea.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/01/2010 22:09

Hi mummymels

I have done cardio today and also been out for a walk.

The inlaws are coming for the weekend, must try not to eat and drink too much. I have tried to plan healthy meals and I haven't planned any snacks/nibbles before dinner either day so I'm hoping to still see a loss on Monday.

kansasmum · 21/01/2010 23:02

Hi I am new- hope I can join in? Have 6 stone to lose but trying hard not to think about that cos its depressing!
Currently doing really well due to really bad throat infection (y'know its bad when the Dr says "Oh my gosh" when she looks down your throat!) which means I am living on water and satsumas! I feel this is a bit of a drastic diet though!

I used to go to SW but they no longer do the daytime class so am going to try doing it myself since I know how it works!

I have terrible willpower so hoping coming on here will help!!

Oh and mint tea is really good for wind!!

mummymels · 22/01/2010 02:34

kurves - What diet are you doing if you are under a clinic? Or is that totally unrelated to the diet and I am being dozy!!! I've lost 55 lbs since October.

kansasmum - I hope you are better soon.

Phoenix4725 · 22/01/2010 04:47

Hi kansas mum and mummymels ,yeah i get the drastic diet thing , i had mine first week in

,yep i am doing the at home diet to since could not find class to fit in with the kids and one to suit my chaotic lifestyle

seems were all suffering with wind .I blame it on the dogs or the kids

well done on the excersise Ali, afraid other than walking not been doing much here at all,as in process of moving .

kurves i to have plans for what i want to wear right at the end and be able to go on the rides at disney without worrying about the saftey bar
