I am joining SW next week and I have a lot of weight to lose (I mean over 7 stone)
Is there any one else with a long way to go who fancies a bit of moral support ??

I have tried loads of diets over the years and just feel so daunted that I have such a lot to lose. I know that any diet and exercise will work but I need to stick to it long term

I am not looking for a SW thread just a long long way to go one....

Was lurking and saw someone mention SF polos - in large quantities these have a laxative affect. (Same as SF gum etc) Not sure what it is in them. At anorexia group we used to whisper about them to each other, and from personal experience know its true. (Would NOT advise it!) But just wanted to point that out as you mention SF polos and tummy probs...very possibly a link

EccentricaGallumbits · 22/01/2010 13:14

yup. tis the sorbitol.

EccentricaGallumbits · 22/01/2010 16:16

I just cracked and ate a slice of bread with olive spread .

TotalChaos · 22/01/2010 20:35

bread's not the devil you know, I know it it is fashionable to be anti-carb, but it's not like you've fessed up to eating a whole pack of biscuits.

another 2 1b down, so 8lb since boxing day. Now if I can just keep that up for another 8 months ..... still struggling to motivate myself exercise wise, need to actually use the wii fit every day I think...

mummymels · 22/01/2010 22:42

Well done on your weight loss TotalChaos.

Phoenix4725 · 23/01/2010 15:07

well done total chaos ,going have to dig mine out once we move and have enough room am quite fancying a dance mat

going · 23/01/2010 15:14

Phoenix4725 - how many calories are you having each day? I'm trying to stick between 1200 - 1400 and it seems to be going well.

kurves - That's really fab that you are doing so well on your own!

I have lost 5kg in the last week and a half. Very pleased with that.

Phoenix4725 · 23/01/2010 18:17

i am doing around 1400 calories give or take a few and other than a few wobbles am doing ok

ok weighed self and lost 7lb tis week but lot of stress atm so thats probably part cause of

Mind saying that have broke the diet tonigt we was burgled and found i am mega stressed and the comfort food won

TotalChaos · 23/01/2010 20:04

thanks ladies.

Phoenix - sorry you are having such a hideous time recently.

EccentricaGallumbits · 24/01/2010 09:41

that's crap Phoenix (not the comfort food but the burglary) Amoral bastards.
I got burgled last year - makes me so angry.

Phoenix4725 · 24/01/2010 17:15

yep though now over the shakey feeling now just angry

But back on track today ended upeating corn beef sandwiches doorstep style , then sausage and mash for tea and not skinny mash either followed up by bread and gravy but it did taste dam good

Am determined that I will lose the weight lol mind no money/purse measn got to watch what eat till new cards come

mummymels · 25/01/2010 07:21

going - well done on your weight loss.

phoenix - that is a brilliant loss but bad news about the burglery. was much taken? although I know sometimes it's not the matter of what was taken, it is the fact that someone has been in your house which is the most upsetting thing. I hope that you are ok.

mummymels · 25/01/2010 07:23

I also meant to say that I am on here early today so I've not done my Monday weigh in yet so I will post that later today or tomorrow when I've done it.

Just eating my granola breakfast, today with yoghurt and some raspberries mixed in before the kids are up and the house turns manic.

mrslurkalot · 25/01/2010 10:40

1lb lost 5lb total.

kurves · 25/01/2010 16:15

pissed off put on 2lbs now 12 13 pissed off went to nandos stuffed my face i wanted to cry.

TotalChaos · 25/01/2010 16:25

right kurves I am going to gently kick your arse. weight loss is bizarre - it's not linear - some weeks you lose 4lb, 1lb, some you put on a lb or two, it's the trend over time, not the week by week that matters. I am strong believer in exercising more if you have a disappointing week, rather than changing your eating habits further. Now you've stuffed your face in Nandos. fine. but have dinner as normal, and get back on the diet wagon.

kurves · 25/01/2010 17:30

thanks total i ate so much yeh that i cannot eat dinner as i am still full .you know i really did think that if you put on weight its a bad thing i worked out hard with my trainer today he is really good and pushes me so hard it is straight up one hour of really hard circuits and doing weights i have him 2 times a week i will be doing tiabo tonight and see if i can make it to a spinn class at lunch time what i need to do is to stop weighing my self and focus on the excersise side of things .

Phoenix4725 · 25/01/2010 21:34

yep tomorros another day Kurves and pretty sure we will all fall of wagon some point

loads taken worse loss was the car ,ds wheelchair and his seating unit.there take time to replace

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/01/2010 23:32

Phoenix You have had such a bad run of luck, you are definitely due some good news!

kurves - that's it, just put it behind you and move on. This is for life, a new way of living - but it doesn't mean that you should never go out for a meal again or eat a jam donut which is what I did this evening!

TC - that is very good advice. Too easy to get hung up on the food (or lack of it).

I forgot to weigh-in this morning so I will do that tomorrow first thing and report back! But, I have lost another 2cm off my under-bust measurement and 1cm off my hips. I am not expecting a big loss, we had guests at the weekend and I'm due AF any day which always makes me put on a couple of pounds.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/01/2010 11:38

I lost 1.5lbs V.pleased, that is 2.5lbs in total now.

EccentricaGallumbits · 26/01/2010 22:13

Fat club this evening. Lost 2lb.

Sometimes it is feeling like I'm missing all the nice usual stuff, sandwiches for lunch, crisps occasionally, cheese often, toast, roast potatoes, wine etc and not getting very far.

although I know 2lb a week is plenty and steady and all that.

just feeling sorry fr myself i suppose. and cold and tired and overowrked.

give me a kick for goodness sake.

mummymels · 27/01/2010 21:24

kurves - don't be disheartened. One not so good week wil be cancelled out by all the good weeks and it happens from time to time. Next week I am sure you will have a good lose to make up for it.

Phoenix - I hope you all manage to get yourselves sorted soon. You don't deserve all this.

Brilliant Alibaba

Eccentrica - 2lbs is brilliant, well done, don't put yourself down.

I'm not feeling 100% as had a minor operation on Monday. Having said that, being on Go Lower has been perfect as I have my package of food already delivered to me so no trying to cook myself. Watching DH attempt to cook for the kids has made me thankful for my ready delivered food!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/01/2010 22:14

Eccentrica 2lbs is really good. Can you not have any of the things you like? Can't remember whether you are doing SW or WW?
Can we help you with some ways to include some of the things you miss so that you don't feel so deprived?

I have had an awful cold for the last 2 days, and so have DH and DS so everything has gone to pot around here in terms of eating. Although I did throw away the leftover takeaway last night instead of just eating it all and resisted buying a slab of Dairy Milk in the supermarket today - so perhaps things are not as bad as they could be. Really hoping I feel a bit more with it tomorrow and can get back on track.

Mummymels - hope you are feeling better soon

LisaD1 · 28/01/2010 11:50

Hi everyone..

Good to read how well you're all doing..

I just want to cry today, have been weighing myself at home but decided to go back to weight watchers today and my scales are obviously knackered as I weighed in at 17st 11lb

That's a stone heavier than I was the last time I went to ww 2.5months ago...

Back to weekly weigh ins at ww now as clearly me and my scales can't do this alone.

Off to get a much needed coffee.

kurves · 28/01/2010 17:08

i weighed this morning and i have gone down to 12 9 so happy i am getting their slowly.
