I am joining SW next week and I have a lot of weight to lose (I mean over 7 stone)
Is there any one else with a long way to go who fancies a bit of moral support ??

I have tried loads of diets over the years and just feel so daunted that I have such a lot to lose. I know that any diet and exercise will work but I need to stick to it long term

I am not looking for a SW thread just a long long way to go one....

TC - well done

Luvvies - hope you found something good to have for tea. I agree with Lisa, I'm terrible for not having a proper meal and then caving in at some later point.

I did ok today having lunch, no second helpings and no juice and lemonade, and just one mouthful of dessert - literally a spoonful. So much better than last week, I feel I've made it over a hurdle.

Tomorrow's menu is jacket potato for lunch and pot roast beef with root veg for dinner.

Is anyone else struggling to drink enough water with it being so cold? All I want is tea and coffee!

going · 13/01/2010 13:56

ali Tea and coffee are fine as they contain so much water! Better than drinking nothing.

I have mostly had two cooked meals a day as it's so cold I want comfort food! They have mostly been M&S/Waitrose ready meals as they are on offer, taste good and are the low fat ones. I have had to cook proper meals for the kids and dp though as we can't all afford to eat ready meals!

TotalChaos · 13/01/2010 16:03

agree with going, absolutely fine to have two hot meals, just as long as they are healthy! I've also sampled for the 3 for 2 waitrose healthy ones recently LOL. Keep getting foiled when eating out tho - twice in a week 2 different cafes have run out of baked potatoes!

EccentricaGallumbits · 14/01/2010 19:38

evening ladies. I lost 5 lb this week! Hurrah!
Have been very very careful. and haven't had any wine for 2 weeks now .
the lentils and beans are playing havok with my wind though.

How are you all doing so far this week?

EccentricaGallumbits · 14/01/2010 19:41

ah.had a flick thrugh - looking good.

any plans for the wekend? i thnk i'm going to miss my weekly occasional beer and pizza saturday evening.

Luvvies · 14/01/2010 20:19

Hey well done EC, that's great going.

I had a bad couple of days (pizza and biscuits comfort eating / late night stayawakes) earlier this week. But yesterday and today have been fine. But I don't think overall I will lose anything this week. Mondays are weigh-in for me, so still some time though?

Tonight I had grilled chicken breast, small portion of noodles and some peas! How boring, but DH was cooking the same for fussy DS and I thought that would do for me too.

JackBauer · 15/01/2010 08:23

Morning ladies, can I come in?
I weigh 16st 12lb today.

I need to be able to get on DH's pillion seat on his bike this summer or we won't get a holiday and as he weighs 15st combined we'd break it!
I need to lose 4st, anymore and I'd look weird as I am tall (that's what I am telling msyelf anyway)
Very inspired by some of your weight loss as well.
DO you cook the same for the family as you eat? I refuse to cook 2 meals, and DH and DD@s are veg refusers, they love their carbs, so I find it so hard to eat healthily!
Am goign to start drinking more water too.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/01/2010 12:32

Well done on the weight loss Eccentrica!

Welcome Jack . I cook just one meal, sometimes something different for DS if we're going to eat later.
I'm very lucky though, DS is a veg lover and will eat pretty much anything. He is only 18 months though so there is plenty of time for all that to change!!
Could you adapt what they have for you - so they have spaghetti bolognese with loads of pasta. You have it with a small amount of pasta and a big bowl of salad?

I have had an okay couple of days. We are eating our dinner earlier, and I've managed to cut out my 5pm snacktime which was a killer. I think I was probably eating 5-600 calories then and then another 300 or perhaps more for pudding and snacks after dinner!

EccentricaGallumbits · 15/01/2010 18:53

i may have to crack open a bottle of red this evening. i'm getting desperate.

Phoenix4725 · 16/01/2010 07:07

hi glad to see everyones doing ok and congrats on the weight loss

Been bit of mad week here and have really struggled to as normally when things go pear shape i want to eat and eat , but have stuck with it nad weighed myself friday , and lost another 6lb though sure some of thats caused by stress ,so thats 20lb in total.

am hoping to get out more and walk now the snow is finally melting

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/01/2010 11:14

Eccentrica - did you succumb to the wine? I had a glass and managed to stop there, amazingly!

Pheonix - that is fantastic, well done!

I have managed to do at least some exercise every day this week. It isn't showing on the scales yet but I feel so much better - it can only be a good thing.
We have my parents here for the weekend so now the challenge is to not go overboard with the food and booze.

EccentricaGallumbits · 16/01/2010 16:07

I didn't I resisted!

I am not able to do much exercise at the mo. have a knackered back and loads of work to do (essays and stuff) so i'm sitting at the computer for hours on end.

I may have a couple of glasses toight.

my fat club woman phoned earlier which was nice.

Phoenix4725 · 17/01/2010 17:52

am really struggling atm normally in times of stress/worry i turn to food and so trying not to stuff my face

EccentricaGallumbits · 17/01/2010 19:43

you've done so well phoenix. can you give yourself a reward for doing well this evening? then get back on track tomorrow?

Phoenix4725 · 17/01/2010 19:46

my problem is once i start is stopping ,could easilt eat 3,4 sausage rolls and not mini ones either with some pickles why so scared to break the diet no good at getting back on track feel free to kick my arsec think going have bath go to bed or that pack of bisuits be in danger

EccentricaGallumbits · 17/01/2010 19:50

know the feeling - it's a whole block of cheese and a bottle of wine on the side. no idea of moderation.

have a (gentle) kick.

Luvvies · 17/01/2010 20:45

I won't kick your arse if you're already stressed. Just say instead that I had a bad couple of days this week and I got back on to it OK. It can be done.

I'm away for work for this week, so am starting to think about how I will manage - usually I end up with lots of nice fattening things to munch on in my hotel room. No food served at hotel (small budget one) so I usually potter around, get fast food, or bits from M & S. So I think I will be having to get only healthy things. It should be OK, as I won't eat badly in the office, and in the evening, once I'm in for the night (with my healthy food) I won't want to go out again, and there is no cupboard or fridge to browse.

I'll let you know how I get on. Weigh in tomorrow morning, will post when I can - have to travel.

Have a good week everyone.

EccentricaGallumbits · 17/01/2010 20:47

I just burst my jeans

they are very old and going thin in strategic places but........

just squatted down and rrrrrrrrrrrrrip.

have told DH i shall cut them off for hotpants that'll look nice.

Luvvies · 17/01/2010 21:06

I'm sat here with my zip undone if that's any consolation.

Phoenix4725 · 18/01/2010 06:17

i know i just hate that when it happens 8backs out rooom * slowly.

Did mangae not to stuff had bath then went to bed not via the kitchen .

luvvies im same when am away or eating out for me its so rare i tend think sod it and eat all foods i should not ,including the most fattening nicest thing on the menu

bigbellylady · 18/01/2010 06:34

well done on the losses

Phoenix - wow 20lb is fantastic ! and well done for heading off a fall off the wagon. That is so hard to do.

I had a bad moment with some chocolate crispy cakes earlier is the week. I got some for the children and had to buy 2 boxes as they were on offer. I scoffed about 1/2 a box in the car and actually ended up chucking some out of the car window to stop myself eating them (disclaimer - dc were not in the car to see my shocking behaviour and I was in the middle of nowhere so I did not injure any one just fed the local wildlife in the middle of the big feeeze ).

It is weigh in tonight for me......

OP posts:
Luvvies · 18/01/2010 07:13

weigh in. 2lb lost this week which is 5lb in total. I'm happy enough with that as I had a couple of bad days. funnily enough mine also included choc crispies BBL.

mrslurkalot · 18/01/2010 09:08

lost 1lb. total 4lb.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/01/2010 10:22

I have lost no weight, but have lost 1cm off my waist and 4cms under-boob measurement so the exercise is paying off.

BBL - well done for chucking the crispy cakes out of the window

Luvvies and mrslurkalot - well done on the weight loss!

Phoenix4725 · 18/01/2010 11:16
