I am joining SW next week and I have a lot of weight to lose (I mean over 7 stone)
Is there any one else with a long way to go who fancies a bit of moral support ??

I have tried loads of diets over the years and just feel so daunted that I have such a lot to lose. I know that any diet and exercise will work but I need to stick to it long term

I am not looking for a SW thread just a long long way to go one....

Oh Phoenix that is awful - the break in I mean not the eating. I hope you are ok tonight and feeling safe.

I have been off the wagon all week. No big problems, just lots of little stresses.

I'll be back on tomorrow.

Well done all those who have had a loss this week.

Phoenix4725 · 29/01/2010 05:25

Sorry to hear about the break in Phoenix xx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/02/2010 23:07

I have stayed the same, boo.

Phoenix, that is awful about the breaking in, hope you've had a restful weekend!

mummymels · 02/02/2010 20:49

Alibaba - hope you're all better now.

Lisa - don't worry too much. You have taken the first step now by dieting so I am sure you will be down to what you thought before you know it.

Phoenix - that must be so scary about the break in. I hope you are all feeling ok.

kurves / lovvies - I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time.

I spoke to my Go Lower counsellor today and she said that soon I will be able to start making my own lo carb meals which I am quite looking forward to. The Go Lower ones are lovely but I am also looking forward to trying out some of the recipes mentioned on here. Tonight I've had the Go Lower Navarin of Lamb and I made some garlic brocolli to go with it and it was lovely.

TotalChaos · 02/02/2010 20:54

what's go lower then, I've never heard of that? do they provide you with ready meals for every meal?

have lost 11lb now in just over a month, feels like a slog at times, but todays been surprisingly easy (first weekday at home as overtime ended)

EccentricaGallumbits · 02/02/2010 21:23

Evenin all.
You all seem to be doing very well indeed. Garlic broccoli sounds delicious.

Fat club tonight.

I lost 4lb. Which means I've hit the 1 stone mark. I'm like this

Even better I got some stickers (slimmer of the week, slimmer of the month and my 1 stone one). Am like a child with a reward chart and feel ridiculously pleased.

I may have a little bit of cheese to celebrate.

mummymels · 03/02/2010 13:19

TotalChaos - That's a great loss. Go Lower is a low carb diet where they send you ready prepared meals. They are nutritious meals and very tasty.

Eccentrica - Well done you on so many great achievements. You have a right to be so happy. I have to say it is yummy!

TotalChaos · 04/02/2010 07:21

phoenix - nope, not gonna kick your arse, with all that's been going on it's astounding your even thinking the word diet right now!

Hi eccentrica, well done for your stickers LOL

mummymels - so do you just cut carbs but have lots of protein etc like atkins, or is it all balanced to be low fat low carb etc?

mummymels · 04/02/2010 21:40

TotalChaos - I have to admit I don't know much of the science so just looking at some of the bumpf from when I joined Go Lower it says

Go Lower food has low glycaemic index and low glycaemic load meaning that your blood sugar levels will remain constant, avoiding fat gain caused by insulin release. As well as this Go Lower food is protein rich; protein makes you feel full and is crammed with essential nutrients to help build strong healthy bodies. It stimulates your body to create and expel energy; in turn helping you burn more calories when you seem to be doing nothing!

Go Lower will be keeping your calorie levels as high as possible whilst you are on the Plan so your metabolic rate should not suffer and this is one of the benefits of a controlled carbohydrate diet.

Once you have completed the Plan you should have fully retrained your pallet so you will not crave sugars and starches, you will have learnt about portion sizes and you will be ready to go it alone.

Good luck with starting the diet again Pheonix. Which one are you doing again?

mummymels · 22/02/2010 22:10

Hi, hows everyone doing?

Had weigh in today. For the first time since starting Go Lower I haven't lost any weight this week. Bit disappointed but can't complain in the whole scheme of things really as I couldn't go on losing like I have been forever.

EccentricaGallumbits · 23/02/2010 07:56

morning all.

don't think i've lost anything this week. having a mixture of knackered back so not done any exercise, working nights - the cause of the knakered back again and hormones.

i have fatclub tonight so we shall see. perhaps if i eat only melon today (and for the whole of next wek) the stones shall falloff?

mummymels · 24/02/2010 01:31

I hope your back is better soon
