Well, I have decided that from Monday I am

  1. Going to lose weight and stop making excuses and put it off anymore

2)Make exercise a regular part of my life, which will mean shaking the months of dust off my clothes hanger exercise bike.

  1. Start to feel good about myself again, and imagine myself in lots of lovely clothes for the Spring. This will involve looking at myself in a mirror and thinking good thoughts

I am 5ft 3 and tipping the scales at a disgusting 12 stone 7lbs. Ideally I want to get to 9 stone 7 lbs so 3 stone to lose. Eeeek! Anyone fancy joining me?

morning all,
I know we aren't supposed to skip breakfast, but DH let me have a long lie in so I am going to wait until lunchtime.

going to get my trainers on later and go for a run.. but aside fromthat I am pretty much housebound for this weekend looking after my little boy who has just had his tonsils and adeoids removed.

going to weigh in on Mondays if that is ok.

Sweetboysmum sounds like you are on a roll.. keep it up, any weightloss lifts my spirits and gives me the motivation to keep going

Defyinggravity, enjoy your housework.. calories gone..house cleean, sounds like a good payoff

Hi to everyone else, hope you hve a good weekend

Furball · 17/10/2009 15:38

I've been on the 'Lardy Ladies' thread for xxx years finally got my arse into gear last year and lost 2 stone with Slimming World............Then this year have put on over a stone back on [oh dear]

I need to lose 1/2 stone at least, by christmas would be nice.

defyinggravity · 17/10/2009 18:24

Hello furball and welcome. Ok, you've put a stone on but you're still a stone lighter than when you started. At least you're sorting it before you're back to where you started unlike idiot me!

That is my main problm DG, I lost 3st when pregnant with DS1 gradually put it back on before falling pregnant with DS2, lost 3 stone when pregnant with DS2 andhave now put it all back on (DH won't let me get pregnant again just to loose weight!)

defyinggravity · 17/10/2009 20:18

How unfair of your DH bythepowerofgreyskull

Welcome Glitz. We have some PT's on here that might be able to give exercise tips. I have an exercise bike and try and do half hour or so a day on it (when I'm being good! )

hi all, have been for a nice walk in the park with the boys on their bikes so we had to keep up a swift speed.

let myself down with a cheese and bacon toastie for lunch. but am going to have a virtuous day for the rest of the time.

managed an hour of ironing yesterday so my basket is empty (until the wash that is on the line comes in)

didn't get out for a run last night, will try again to get out this afternoon.

I will restart tomorrow too, have had a v naughty (but nice) weekend so need to get back on track and have a night away next sunday, followed by child free shopping, so must make the most of it

PenguinProject · 18/10/2009 19:49

See you tomorrow (just finishing the ice cream...)!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 18/10/2009 20:38

Can I join in?

I've just lost 6lbs in the last month on Slimming world - haven't joined a group, just using a couple of books.

I have to say, I've never been keen on organised diets, but the results of this one have been really encouraging.

DH is doing it as well, and we do moan a lot, but actually we never feel starving hungry, and the 'syn' system means you can indulge in a little something to relieve the tedium.
I've been having a glass of wine/biscuit or two every night, and on Friday scoffed half a big bar of Cadbury's Caramel and my weight was still down.

I think if you follow the recipes and the Green/Original Day method, you actually don't eat too many calories so a slip-up doesn't do too much damage.

I put on two stones a couple of years ago, lost one stone last year just by cutting down, and really needed a kick-start to lose the rest.

Am now 10st 2lb and want to get to just under 91/2 at.
I've also started a 're-hab' programme for my dodgy back, and am hoping to join a proper gym soon.

sweetboysmum · 18/10/2009 21:09

glad to see more people are joining - the more the merrier! frakula you must be excited about getting married, it's not long away.

OurLadyOfPerpetualSu well done for losing 6lbs in a month. Never tried Slimming world but a friend of mine told me it was one that worked for her.

I'm just back from my night away in Glasgow. The combination of cinema (pic 'n mix) dinner out (3 courses) and buffet breakfast this morning has resulted in me feeling very guilty. on the bright sinde I was so stuffed after the breakfast I only wanted a few rice cakes all day. Now finishing off Cava from Friday night as it's a shame for it to go to waste. Back on the diet big time tomorrow!

defyinggravity · 18/10/2009 22:16

I've just re joined Bootsdiets.com. It really helped me before when I lost weight. Def helps to log everything you eat and drink and how many cals you use up exercising. I'm actually excited about giving this diet a really good go starting tomorrow, and hearing how the rest of you get on.

Can I join in, please?

I am Robino.
5'6", 12st 12.
Aiming to lose a stone by Christmas.
Have already tried to cut down on snacks, was getting the exercise back up but then got a rotten cold.
So, no snacks, 3pts water a day, pilates once a week, at least 2 runs a week, no alcohol Mon - Thurs.
Weigh in Friday.

Good luck this week fabulous ladies.

defyinggravity · 19/10/2009 09:14

Well, as today is the only ok day weather wise this week am off for long walk pushing ds in buggy, so hopefully will burn off a few cals. Just had Weetabix brekkie. Good luck everyone

Hi,
i found a useful website
www.my-calorie-counter.everydayhealth.com
it's free an you can keep a diary of your food and exercise for the day. Probably not as good as the boots one but if you're wathing your pennies it's worth a try. I sneakily weighed myself this morning and am 4 pounds heavier than was on thursday. Will not weigh self until official weigh in day now. I'm very motivated to stick to the diet this week. Like defyinggravity i am also off for a big long walk with pram. It's rainy here but i need the exercise. have had Slimfast for brekfast. I am strange in that I LOVE slimfast, especially the Strawberry. I know it has a lot of sugar but when I'm on a diet I snack on low cal sweets anyway.

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 19/10/2009 11:50

Can I join too please?
I've started a new regime today (the 20 millionth - I've been here before ).

I was thinking about starting a thread like this myself.

If we're all starting today should we make Monday the weigh in day, or does Fri suit people better?

Too embarrassed to put my weight. But I'd like to lose 4 stone. There, I said it.

My dc2 was born 5 months ago. Somehow I've put on nearly as much since his birth as I did while pregnant. My weight gain NEEDS TO STOP NOW. My interim goal is to have lost 10 bls by the 20th Nov and at least 1 stone by Christmas. I know 10lbs in a month is a lot, but I have a few special occassions coming up next month and I'd really like to be a dress size smaller.

My plan is to do at least 20 mins Wii Fit every day, except on Wednesdays as i hope to start a dance class this Wed.

I'm also going to concentrate really hard on eating consciously, so only when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full, etc.

defyinggravity · 19/10/2009 12:25

Some are posting a Monday weigh in. Whatever day you want to weigh in is fine. The only reason I'm doing a Friday is because if I slip up at the weekend, then I have til the next Friday to undo the damage!

OP posts:
defyinggravity · 19/10/2009 12:27

I've had a nice walk with ds, and plan on getting on exercise bike as soon as he goes down for his afternoon nap. I'm also trying to increase the amount of water I drink as i'm rubbish at that usually.
