Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

.5 last night. abit disappointed but tis still 9lbs in 4 weeks so that is OK.

Buda I have emailed you as I have your stuff. If it hasn't got to you then email me on welddavies at btinternet dot com

Buda · 01/10/2009 16:21

9lbs in 4 weeks is fab. Well done. Will check email now. Thanks!

ajamore · 01/10/2009 18:21

FiveGoMadinDorset well done - that's a good result for 4 weeks isn't it?

2.5 pounds off for me at today's weigh in giving me my first silver seven as I've lost 7.5 pounds in 2 weeks. Am chuffed!

I am setting myself a goal of another silver seven (therefore a stone loss) in the next 4 weeks. I'd be SO pleased if I managed a stone off in 6 weeks (which would take me to 12 stone 5)

Am needing a few more recipes to inspire me. I love the aromatic chicken curry recipe and I do lots of stir-fries. Now winter is here I could start doing the meat-free shepherdess pie which is always a winner. Anyone else got any "staple" recipes that they'd like to share?

Good luck to everyone - anyone got a weigh-in later today or tomorrow?

ajamore · 01/10/2009 18:22

Sorry FiveGoMadonTheDancefloor for calling you FivegomadinDorset!! Went all Enid Blyton

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 01/10/2009 19:26

That is my usual name

I did a great very quick chicken curry last night with peanut butter.

1 large red chilli, deseeded
1/2 a finger length poece fresh root ginger, roughly chopped
1 fat clove garlic
small bunch coriander, stalks roughly chopped
1tbsp sunflower oil (i used 1 tsp olive oil)
4 skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
5 tbsp peanut butter
150 ml chicken stock
200g greek yogurt (0%)

Finely slice a quarter of the chilli, thenput the rest in a food processor with the ginger, garluc, coriander stalks and one third of the leaves. Whizz to a rough paste with a splash of water if needed.

Heat the oil in a frying pan, then quickly brown the chicken chunks for 1 min. Stir in the paste for another min, then add the peanut butter, stock and yogurt. when the sauce is bubbling, cook for 10 mins until the chicken is just cooked through and sauce thickened. Stir in most of the remaining coriander, then scatter the rest on top with the chilli. eat with rice.

358 kcals sat fat 6g = 5

with rice =8

I also had tenderstem brocolli with it = 0

It does sound weird and I am not a lover or peanut butter but it was great.

Buda · 01/10/2009 19:43

Sounds yummy. Will be trying that one.

squilly · 01/10/2009 19:59

Well done on the weight loss everyone.

I lost 0.5lb tonight too Five, so that's 5.5 in 2 weeks. It's over my target of 1lb a week, so I'm happy.

I swapped from an a.m weigh to a p.m weigh-in, too so there's a chance it could have been better if I'd gotten weighed at my usual time (or so the leader said).

Half a pound off is better than going the other way and I haven't been extra good this week, so hey ho...onwards and upwards.

I'll print out that recipe Five. It's looking way better than anything I would usually make or buy.

StrictlyBoogying · 01/10/2009 20:40

FiveGoMad - that sounds gorgeous. I'll make it for DH this weekend...wonder if DD1 would eat it.

colditz · 01/10/2009 21:32

Five that sounds delicious!

I have had poached eggs and ham on toast (6 points)

two ricecakes with soft spready cheese (2 points)

3 Morrisons LF sausages (1 point each, and big and tasty!) with 300g of new potatoes, salad and 1/2 tub LF coleslaw (8.5 points)

and two chocolate biscuits out of the fridge NOMNOMNOM (3points and worth it)

Total 19.5 points, and not at all hungry.

I am due a weigh in on Monday - fingers crossed!

Well I had my weigh in last night and after the disappointment of last week I lost 2lbs. That only makes 1lb over last 2 weeks but at least it is step in right direction. I really am feeling slimmer though and did my measurements on Monday so will measure myself again and see what happens.
However I did have 3 glasses of wine when I got back from weigh in but that's it for the week now am being very strict. Gym tomorrow walking on Sunday.
Well done everyone there are some quick silver sevens here

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2009 11:00

Well done!

Thats 4 packs of butter!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/10/2009 18:56

welll done mithered

i know what you mean - i was very good all week and lost a measy lb

i know a lb a week = 52 lbs a year so almost 4stone but still

ajamore · 05/10/2009 14:50

Just checking in at the beginning of the week after a fairly over-indulgent weekend. Realise that my weight loss might tail off this week after getting off to a good start.

Will have to rein myself in till Thursday.

Good luck to everyone else, particularly those with a Monday or Tuesday weigh-in. That's always the toughest I think because there's no time to mend the damage you might have done at the weekend!

colditz · 05/10/2009 22:19

I lost FOURRRRR POOOOUNSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

It's working guys, it's working! OI have gone from 13st1 to 12st11 WOOOOP!

Hey - what a result Colditz, well done you Funny how you can go along for a week or two just sticking or losing a half pound and then suddenly boom it comes off! We are almost level pegging - I have lost 7.5 pounds and am now 12 stone 11.5. What's your goal? To get to the top end of my healthy BMI I need to get down to 10 stone 6. I would dearly love to be about 11 stone 12 (preferably less) by Xmas.

I am well impressed as you have a Monday weigh-in too!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2009 08:17

well done colditz

i have had a manic weekend, out both nights for birthdays and a lot of gine tho with slim line tonic

very much doubt will get a loss this week

Mithered · 06/10/2009 08:21

Well done Colditz - getting to 12 stone something just sounds better doesn't it! Despite my promises on Thurs to be strict I seem to have had a manic weekend too like Blondes. On Saturday I worked out I had FORTY points - however I have saved loads of points and been to gym/swimming most days. Not enough for a blow out like that so am on carrots and bovril today

WailingGhoshe · 06/10/2009 08:24

Keep going girls, I have lost 5 stone on WW, and have totally changed my eating habits, still find I lose about half a pound a week.

I have been so bad. Haven't even weighed myself.

DS has requested spagetti carbonara tonight so I will do for us all and it will be my last blow out. Starting again tomorrow. Will menu plan and count points properly.

Fingers crossed my package from FiveGoMad arrives today.

BudaBones · 06/10/2009 12:38

Ooh sorry - forgot to say WELL DONE COLDITZ!

bigTillyMint · 06/10/2009 13:11

Weigh-in last night and I lost 2 pounds - hurrah! I have now lost 5 pounds, and my clothes are feeling alot less tight

Well Done Colditz!

I feel cold and knackered today - must keep away from the kitchen.....

bigTillyMint · 07/10/2009 16:29

Where is everyone?????

Feeling proud of myself as I managed to avoid gorging myself at a lunchtime buffet - made "sensible choices" and only ate 8 points worth

BudaBones · 07/10/2009 17:11

Well done on the loss Not-soBigTilly!

I have been avoiding. My package arrived from FiveGoMad so I have no excuse. Can not get into counting points and avoiding picking. AARRGH.

And this weekend will be a nightmare as my sister is coming for the weekend.

Am off back up the thread for that chicken curry recipe that FiveGoMad posted as am doing that for dinner tonight.

Finally - huge thanks to FiveGoMad! My package of stuff arrived yesterday. You are a total star for sending.
