Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

Well done Colditz and big Tillymint! SGM-I am dreading my weigh in tomorrow. You did say that you had had a blow out weekend but instead of just carrying on and eating what you want you are being good. I think thats the key really

bigTillyMint · 07/10/2009 18:09

LOL Buda!

I found the avoiding picking and counting points quite a challenge (still do!), but stick with it - it's the only way

ajamore · 07/10/2009 20:45

Well done BTM and don't worry SGM - keep at it.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh-in. I have been really careful this week and have eaten less points than the past two weeks where I lost 7.5 pounds but I just KNOW that my body is going into protest about it all and is trying to hold on to my fat! That's what it feels like anyway. I keep weighing myself all the time (which I know I shouldn't) and it looks like I'll be lucky if I lose a half pound. Will find out tomorrow.

I absolutely have to point everything and write it down - it's the only way I can do it properly - I can't be trusted otherwise

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 08/10/2009 09:05

Well done on the losses everyone.

Buda - glad the package arrived safely.

I lost 2lbs last night so that brings the total to 11 and nearly my first stone. Clothes are definitely getting bigger.

IsThisNameTaken · 08/10/2009 11:40

Hi all - congrats on the losses.

I have lost just 1lb this week, total of 4 so far ... it's slow but at least in the right direction I guess.

SGM - hope you kept on track whilst watching True Blood, have to say I was a bit disappinted by it.

OMG a 12 year old watching that! I am , it was very graphic in parts!

Am feeling proud of myself, was peckish and wandered into the kitchen and came out with .... a glass of water

ajamore · 08/10/2009 20:52

Congrats to FiveGoMad and IsThisNameTaken (good name btw!) I managed to lose 1.5 pounds which I'm chuffed about - this brings me to a loss of 9 pounds over 3 weeks am 12 stone 10.

Keep re-setting my goals every week - my next one is to lose 5 pounds in the next 3 weeks which would bring me to a total of a stone in 6 weeks - that's going some for me but am trying to aim high while I have the will power! Am skint until Monday so will not be drinking over the weekend at all - that should help!

Mithered · 09/10/2009 08:17

Well done everyone for weigh ins yesterday. Mine was last night and I lost 2.5lbs which is 3.5lbs in total in 3 weeks but am trying to stay positive. Am doing lots of exercise and am feeling better about myself so just need to lose 1 stone now to get to goal.

Have got a curry tonight but am planning on having a tandoori chicken and salad and not be tempted by any extras or alcohol as am going to drive. Weekends are always the worst for me if I am off work as I tend to pick and think I can treat myself as I have been "good" all week. Am working this weekend though so will hopefully stay on track

kitkat9 · 09/10/2009 09:42

hi all

been a bit rubbish on this lately as have had weekend away, dh home for a while = lots of wine and takeaway food, so haven't been tracking my points. Still, haven't gained any weight but haven't lost any either

need advice for tonight - sil coming round for bottle of wine and takeaway (again!) and i want to keep within my points. I have 8.5 saved for this week.

we haven't decided whether to have pizza, indian food or chinese food - can anyone guide me as to my best choices for each? Looked up chincken tikka and it's 21 points! Slice of domino's veggie pizza 3 points! 1 slice! I want the whiole pizza!

is tandoori chicken a good option mithered? How do you resist the naan, pakora, rice....?

Suppose I could have zero points soup for the rest of the weekend. Pah.

thanks sgm - beef sounds good - prawns also good option? would noodles be better than rice? what about a chow mein?

if it's chinese, prawn crackers are my downfall.....yum

Mithered · 09/10/2009 12:33

Hi chicken chow mein is 7.5 points and really fills you up- that's my usual choice for Chinese. STAY AWAY FROM THE PRAWN CRACKERS!!!
Tandoori chicken is dry obviously but it depends how much you get from your own takeaway. I normally count it as a chicken leg portion and add a little bit on for the cooking.

Like everything else it is just willpower to resist all the little extras. Agree with sgm about filling up with 0 point soup first or big glass of water

StrictlyBoogying · 12/10/2009 10:50

Hi. I've stayed the same this week so I'm a bit disappointed. In my defence, I was at Disneyland Paris for three days then away overnight for our anniversary and ate a three course meal with champagne! I'll be extra good this week. I'm just half a pound off my 5%.

Mithered · 12/10/2009 12:29

How has everybody done this weekend? I have had a hideous cold all weekend but have been craving carbs. Am hoping all the lemsips etc don't contain hidden points -does anyone know? Also couldn't do any exercise so am hoping by Thurs I will feel better and be doing a bit more

ajamore · 12/10/2009 15:39

Have eaten approximately 40 points a day since Friday (which is not unusual!) - so we'll have to see if I eat 20-ish a day over the next 3 days whether I'll still be able to lose anything. I think I might be pushing it!

StrictlyBoogying - you'll have that half pound off next week so congratulations in advance for getting to your 5% I have to lose a pound this week to get to my 5% - I'll probably just stay the same or lose a half. Are you weighed on a Monday? That's a challenge!!

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2009 15:54

Strictly, sounds like you've done really well to stay the same after 3 days away! Is your weigh-in Monday morning? Mine is Monday night, so have to try to be good at the weekend and all day Monday (not an easy task!)

I'm not sure if I'll have lost anything - we were away at the weekend and it's so hard when you're a guest....

Can I join..? I need to shift the baby weight as I have a nine week old baby. I put on three stone but had a giant baby - 11lbs 9oz at birth, ouch! - so now have about a stone to lose. I was over what I wanted to be when I fell pregnant so I want to lose two stone in total really.

Im currently 12 stone 11 and would like to be 10 stone 11 really, although not sure if I will make it to this weight, I dont seem to have much willpower!

Im not going to the classes but am doing WW at home. Im going to weigh myself every Monday.

Just off now to hide the crisps and chocolate bars..

wonderif · 13/10/2009 10:56

this is day two on ww for me yesterday was grand joining again i had put on 7pd in a year but was expecting more tbh.

i went to gym yesterday did 40 mins can anyone tell me the points allowance for this activity cant seem to find where it tells you i am going to save them but would just like to know anyway.

today i have done 30 mins on treadmill and have a class to go to for an hr tonight.

have made a hugh pot of veg soup so only have to point the stock cubes and will be mainly free.

i am 13 st 0.5 pd i really want to be about 10-11 stone in 6 months

bigTillyMint · 13/10/2009 12:54

I lost a pound at weigh-in last night, which I am happy with as I do not expect the last little bit to come off too easily!

Wonderif, I do quite alot of exercise, but I don't point it or use it. I got a calculator for exercise points at about the 3rd meeting, and you can work it out online too if you do monthly membership.

Who else has an evening weigh-in? I weigh 7 pounds more in the evening, so when I get down to my goal, will I really weigh 7 pounds less than that, or half-way between the two?

All I know is that when I went to bed last night I weighed 12st 11 and when I weighed myself this morning first thing I was 12st 7.5! I don't usually weigh myself obsessively like this (or I try not to!) but I remember weighing myself every morning and night when I was pregnant because I really wanted to control my weight gain as I'd gone into pregnancy a stone heavier than I wanted to. It was amazing the amount of weight that just disappeared overnight sometimes!

My weigh-in is in the middle of the day which suits me fine

Hello Wonderif and good luck with your weight loss.

Jem27 - you're keen aren't you?!! Congrats on your baby btw. 9 weeks isn't long in the scheme of things - I started WW once when I had a 4 month old baby and I seem to remember that it was free until the baby was 6 months? Am I going mad and imagining that? Does anyone else know if this is the case (or was it because I had been a gold member before getting pregnant?) No way was I within 5 pounds of my goal weight - no siree!

Congrats to all the other losers and good luck for the rest of the weigh-ins! I'm finding this thread really useful - another thing to keep me on track.

Yes, my weigh in is on a Monday morning. It keeps me in check. I suspect if I was weighed on a Friday night I'd go mad over the weekend!
Ajamore - my baby is 5 months and I have to pay...Free WW would be nice!
