Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

prawn curry sounds nice, minus the peas - maybe could add sweetcorn?

well lost a grand total

of

1 sodding lb!!!!

tbg a bit pissed off - the first week you normally get 3/4lbs

never mind

least it is a loss!!!

hows every one else doing?

what are you weigh days?

Hello Bigboots come join the fun I think WW has lots of Gold "returners" - it would be interesting to see how many make up each meeting!! There's no shame in it. At least you know that it CAN work for you because you've done it before.

It's all about deciding to do it properly and getting into the right frame of mind about it. I'm not one of these to mince about with the words "diet" - WW IS a diet to me because a diet to me is when you eat consciously and don't just gorge yourself on whatever you want, whenever you want, however you're feeling. But I always think that if you shift the weight by doing it the hardest part is to still eat with this consciousness (maaaan!!)

I'm looking forward to being slimmer and to being able to move around without feeling like an old age pensioner.

BTW Thanks BigMillyTint for posting the soup recipe

Five, how many tomatoes do you need in the recipe? It says 2 onions, but then mentions whizzing the tomatoes.... thanks!

floaty · 25/09/2009 17:45

Yes yes yes!!! i lost with WW before but have fallen off the wagon but really need to get back on as I can't get into nay of my clothes and can't afford any new ones!

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 25/09/2009 17:48

Sorry 6 tomatoes for 4 people to 3 if you are halving it.

StrictlyBoogying · 25/09/2009 19:50

The prawn curry sounds gorgeous. I wish DH didn't believe he was allergic to prawns. (he's not!)
Has anyone tried that Tefal Chip Fryer that uses only one spoonful of oil?

Bigboots · 25/09/2009 22:26

Brilliant - starting tomorrow . I think you are right StewieGriffinsMom - as soon as I stoppped thinking I had to go each week I stopped being careful. Will go back in 2 weeks (hopefully will have made a bit of progress by then - not so embarrassing)

Bigboots · 25/09/2009 22:28

Buda · 26/09/2009 11:15

Buda - no problem, will get that on Wednesday for you. Will also email you recipes if you like which seem to work well for DH and me.

Buda · 26/09/2009 13:42

That would be great FiveGoMad! All recipes gratefully received.

Went to supermarket earlier and bought a HUGE butternut squash so will be making the soup that was mentioned earlier as it sounds yummy.

Buda · 28/09/2009 12:02

Where is everyone???

I weighed myself and believe it or not managed to lose a kilo this week! Yay!

Have just taken dog for a long walk. Had a meeting after school drop-off and everyone was having croissants etc and I had a yoghurt and granola and blueberry thingie. It was nice. Then I came home and cleaner had made me some Irish brown bread so I had 2 slices of that - one with low fat spread and one with jam. About to have a bread roll with egg mayo made with low fat mayo which I have been dreaming about since Saturday!

Having grilled salmon and risotto for dinner tonight.

How is everyone else doing?

ajamore · 28/09/2009 13:25

Well done Buda! A kilo is 2.2 pounds isn't it? I was pleased with myself over the weekend as I went to a cafe and resisted any cakes and just had a skinny cappucino. I am still averaging about 25 points a day - lost 5 last week and am hoping to lose at least 2 pounds at this Thursday's weigh in.

Also wondering where Colditz has got to? How you getting on?

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 28/09/2009 13:55

Well done Buda.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2009 14:26

well done buda - thats over 2 lbs!!!!

dh&i went to wetherspoons last night for a quick bite to eat - had the Bacon Carbonara (was yummy - thought it would be about 8/10p) - and then looked at p's at home

dish was 19 points

thats almost my whole days points

tuna salad for lunch today

Buda · 28/09/2009 15:39

Thanks! Am pleased!

blondes - 19 points!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't actually counted points so far. Just tried to make healthy choices. Will start points counting tomorrow though.

colditz · 28/09/2009 18:46

I weighed myself today - 13 stone 1. my starting weight (unimpressed with self's greed with hot chocolate cake and cheating with butter)

For breakfast I had scrambled egg, two rounds of dry brown toast, tomatoes and mushrooms, and a snaffled slice of thick buttered white toast. (guessing 8 points total?)

then I had 2 packets of weight watchers crisps 2 points)

Then for dinner I had pasta arrabiata (5 points) with a bit of roast chicken breast (1 point) and a chicken drumstick (2.5 points)

so, a total of 18.5 points - I'm starting to think a mahoosive late breakfast is the way forward.

ladies, my determination is peak. I was 14 stone this time 2 years ago, i put a huge effort in and lost 2 and a bit stone - a stone has crept back on. IT COMES OFF NOW!!!!!!

Hello! I've lost another 4.5 this week so I got my first silver 7. I'm really pleased I've lost 9lbs in two weeks. I've got masses to go, though!

I lost 1.5 this week, so 3.5 altogether so far! Seems pathetic compared to Strictly, though - well done!

I have been exercising loads and my clothes are starting to feel a bit looser even though I haven't lost that much weight-wise. I wish I had measured myself before I started, then I could count the cm!
