Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

Well done SGM!

Ajamore, that is what happens to me! I wee all night!

I am just wondering because my healthy weight range goes down to 9 stone 6. If I weighed that in the morning, that would be OK, but if I was to go down to that in the evening weigh-in, I would only be 9 stone in the morning, IYSWIM!

I set my goal at 10 stone 4, but maybe I could aim for 10 stone (which would be about 9 stone 8 in the morning....) I'm quite a muscular but tall build and when I get skinny my chest bones show really badly (above my non-existent cleavage!) so that's why I set my goal at 10 st 4.

Free WW would have been great, I checked today and I still have to pay boo!Ive decided that Im going to try to do it by myself at home and then save the money Im not spending on classes on new clothes instead, Im sick of wearing my mat jeans!

Im trying to do lots of walking but its hard when its cold out, doesnt look quite so tempting then.

Does anyone have any low point snacks that they like, the ones I like which are quite low are:

French Fries - 1.5
4 Cracker breads and with low fat peanut butter - 2.5
Highlights hot chocolate - 1 point and feel me up - for a bit anyway
Kitkats - 2.5 for two fingers. I try and eat them really slowly

Hello!

Just about to start weightwatchers again but can't find my bit of paper that tells me how many points to have. Would anyone mind looking it up for me?

I weigh 11 stone and half a pound, am 38, and do no real exercise (apart from rolling around on the floor with two preschoolers!)

Thanks

MarmMummy · 14/10/2009 19:40

Oh, and I'm 5 6

Thanks again!

StrictlyBoogying · 14/10/2009 21:59

Hi Marm, It's 19 points for you if you're 'sitting down most of the time' and 21 if you're 'occasionally sitting mostly standing'.

MarmMummy · 14/10/2009 22:08

Ooh, thanks alot Strictly!

Think I will try to play pirates and have pretend tea parties standing up for the next few weeks!

When I've lost the half a pound and reach 10 something does it drop again do you know?

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 15/10/2009 09:12

I am eternally greatful after the amount of food and drink I have consumed over the last week not to have put any weight on and managed to stay the same.

wonderif · 15/10/2009 14:12

Hi all

dont know about anyone else but i feel so much better on ww this is my 4th day, have stuck to it all and ate plenty.

this is the first time in a long!!!!!!!!! time that i have eaten properly, b4 ww i would have had biscuits for brekkie and toast with chocolate spread no lunch coffee and biscuits again and then maybe a take out for dinner and sweets/snacks in the evening

now i am having

special k with rasberries

snack ww biscuit

lunch no point soup with chicken sandwich

dinner

tuna salad

and this gives plenty of points left for a few snacks thr the day

cant wait for my first weigh in!!

bigTillyMint · 15/10/2009 14:39

MarmMummy, that's right - I am now 10 stone 9.5 and on 18 points!

StrictlyBoogying · 15/10/2009 16:08

Yes, you get one less point for each stone you move down.

MarmMummy · 15/10/2009 18:46

Gutting, thought as much! Where's the motivation in that?

Well, I am doing this without going to meetings, with the aim of losing a stone by Christmas. I've decided to start tomorrow and am having a nice big takeaway tonight in anticipation!!

Might pop back to this thread too for inspiration if that's ok!

ajamore · 16/10/2009 15:25

Well I lost another pound so that brings me to a total loss of 10 pounds in 4 weeks. Got my 5% sticker, hurrah! Have been chancing it really, pigging out more and more over the weekend thinking I can still lose weight by being good on Mon, Tues and Weds. I think if I carry on doing that I'll end up not losing anymore. Am going to try and not splurge too much this weekend and see if I can get a 2 pound weight loss next week - wish me luck!

FiveGoMad well done on not gaining. We're allowed to not lose weight every week aren't we! Good luck for next week.

Whens your first weigh-in wonderif? Sounds like you're doing well and feeling good about it

bigTillyMint · 16/10/2009 18:41

Well done aja! I don't feel like I'm going to have lost anything on Monday - feeling so tired and I keep eating.....

IsThisNameTaken · 17/10/2009 10:31

Hi all - I managed to lose 3lbs last week, was amazed after a few very slow weeks, so now have my silver 7lb star (a virtual one rather than a real one as am doing WW online!). Have stopped having any carbs after 6pm (except wine at the weekend!) and have also been using this when feeling peckish during the day to prevent snacking. It actually seems to work, not sure if all in my mind or not - but will keep using it for as long as it works ...

Hope you're all having a good weekend

I'm in Started last week so will post my weight loss when i get back from this weeks meeting. We can do this girls....it really isn't that hard, it just takes ALOT of discipline.

Oh, 4got to say, i'm getting married in April and want to lose 2.5 stones....fingers x'd

StrictlyBoogying · 19/10/2009 22:29

I lost 3 lbs today meaning I reached my 5% and then some as well as my first stone. I'm delighted but wishing clothes were looser! At how many lbs lost did you notice clothing becoming too big?

bigTillyMint · 20/10/2009 06:45

Well done Strictly, I reached my 5% goal too last night - hurrah!

My clothing doesn't feel too big, just not so tight

bigTillymint and Strictly - well done on your 5%! you have done so well. I haven't posted since my last weigh in as I was really fed up. I had put on half a pound which makes a grand total of 3lb weight loss in 5 weeks. However I measured myself yesterday and I have lost an inch off my waist and an inch and half off my hips.

The trouble is that because I was so pissed off I wasn't very good over the weekend and couldnt' be arsed doing my tracker as wasn't feeling at all motivated. However now I need to get back on track as something is obviously working.

The other thing is my SIL started doing Lighter Life lite and has lost 12lb in 5 weeks so she keeps comparing to me.

bigTillyMint · 20/10/2009 13:06

Mithered, Lighter Life doesn't work in the long term - you can't spend the rest of your life drinking their foul slop instead of eating normally. At least with WW it is possible to carry on a normalish life!

Our leader suggested doing the 4,5,7 (is that right?) for no longer than 2 weeks to get going again.

i got ww my first weigh in yesterday lost 4pd in 1st week that takes me in to a lower stone bracket which is good and am now on 19 pts.

StrictlyBoogying · 21/10/2009 20:22

BigTilly - what's the 4,5,7?

Mithered · 21/10/2009 21:38

What is the 4,5,7? I suppose I need to the fast start 2 week thing but I usually don't like half the meals in it. Am due on and feeling very tearful tonight about my weight again. Those who have done WW before do you feel like you are on a never ending cycle. I do agree that at least with WW you have got a better chance of carrying on normal life and of keeping weight off. I dread to think what high fat/protein no carbs and drinking shite meal replacement drinks will do in the long run.
Got weigh in tomorrow so will report back.
Well done wonderif! That is brilliant for your first week
