Following on from my other post asking advice on Atkins, I'm going to give it a preoper go now and aim to lose 10lb by the end of September.

Who's with me - Katisha, Eyeballs, anybody else?

I'll start. This time last week I was 14 stone. I'm now 13 stone, 11lb. WOOHOO!

Custy But many congrats!

Electric - yes I demand to see photos. Before and after would have been best though!

ElectricElephant · 23/09/2009 16:19

OK - I'll dig out a before and make sure a nice one gets taken of the dress at the wedding

192lb today! Have lost 8lb in 2 weeks..

I've got a week off, so it's exercise DVD's, even stricter Atkins.
Aimed for 10lb by the end of the month, so not far off. Want to lose another 6 though - don't think I can do that in 7 days!

OP posts:
Katisha · 25/09/2009 20:41

How can you get any stricter? Don't eat too little - it's counter-productive.

But many congrats on progress!

I am not doing fantastically well at the moment - finding it a bit hard to summon up the necessary determination.

ElectricElephant · 25/09/2009 20:47

I keep slacking and drinking wine (boo)

Hmm.. I think I may be getting slightly obsessed with this.

Need to stop eating sausages and ketchup as well

Only reason I have this determination is that I spent over £100 on a dress and it HAS to fit me by 2nd October and look awesome. Short term goals work for me is all.

ElectricElephant · 25/09/2009 20:47

oh, and DP has been doing it as well - bastard has lost 1/2 stone in less than a week!!!

OP posts:
Katisha · 25/09/2009 20:56

Yes men always seem to lose weight quicker...

The other thing is what are you going to do after the dress-event? Carry on or stop? Do you think this will be a permanent way of eating (less strictly?)

the one thing I do know is that once you get used to the lovely full-fat way of eating you like it, but what you musn't do is combine it with full-carb - surest way to furred arteries!

ElectricElephant · 25/09/2009 22:38

I will try and carry on with it, yes. I do have a LOT of weight to lose, and it's working so well it'd be stupid not to continute. I have a funny feeling that I'll fall off the wagon for the wedding (obviously) but won't go overboard.

SO tempted by massive pizza, or curry with naan.. it's been too long!

We're pretty good usually though, it's the beer that's been bad in the past rather than the diet. Also cheese... my downfall is cheese.

What's the latest score EE??

ElectricElephant · 04/10/2009 11:42

Hi,
Sorry - meant update a couple of days ago but was so hectic here.

Didn't quite make my 10lb by the end of the month, did manage 9lb though. Sure the weekend's carbfest has put me backwards a little bit, but it's back to induction for me on Monday.

Photo's should be released on Tuesday, I'll post one if you still want to see the dress?

OP posts:
Katisha · 04/10/2009 11:53

Absolutely! 9lbs is great!

I'll get off the pizza thread now!

ElectricElephant · 04/10/2009 15:13

hehe,

How's the low-carbing going for you?

OP posts:
Katisha · 04/10/2009 16:00

Oh dear well someone brought a Waitrose chocolate cake round yesterday as a thank-you and it would have been very rude not ot eat it...
So while I was at it I thought I might as well have pasta and not salad as we were out last night, and somehow yet another salad wasn't what I wanted...

ElectricElephant · 04/10/2009 18:46

Well.. the way things are going today I may well add several glasses of vino to my million carb day. Already had bread and left over pizza, can't make it much worse now, can I

very at waitrose cake though..

OP posts:
Katisha · 04/10/2009 19:28

There's quite a lot of the cake still to go...
Oh dear...
And yes - hit the wine - I have! Cheers!

ElectricElephant · 04/10/2009 21:23

Hurrah - now have wine.

and onion bhajis. Nom

OP posts:
Katisha · 05/10/2009 12:17

Tis all water...
(or beer)

ElectricElephant · 05/10/2009 12:20

Bloody hope so!

have you eaten your cake yet?

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 05/10/2009 12:30

Hello! Can I join you? Have been a long term low carber, but off the wagon in a major way for a few months now, with all too predictable results.

So I'm doing induction starting from today, with a view to losing as much as I can before a posh dinner on 6 November.

In all, though I have almost 2 stones to lose (gulp), so could do with the support!

ElectricElephant · 05/10/2009 12:34

Hello! Yes, the more the merrier

I'm back on induction as of today as well, after having a massive carb-fest over the weekend (went to a wedding, so had a good excuse )

Any suggestions for lunch? I'm bored of tuna.

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 05/10/2009 12:46

Mushroom omelette and salad for me.

Katisha · 05/10/2009 12:58

Hello again BIWI!
Right - gets self organsied to start again.
It's been a pretty low carb day so far apart from the 3 orange curacao truffles I just ate...
(I'm sure they are pretty low carb...)

Katisha · 05/10/2009 12:58

There's still half of that cake in the fridge though...
DH will have to eat it.

ElectricElephant · 05/10/2009 13:44

damn it, there's a strawberry milkshake in the fridge! Noooooooo....
