Pots hope you are feeling a bit better?

Welcome back Cyteen wanna join the 10K challenge to run 10K by Christmas?

itshotterinhell · 31/10/2009 15:41

I'm fine again thanks me old flower although not in a HotMama sense as I ate a calorie-laden dinner last night followed by chocolate biscuits today and pumpkin buns for later

I am going to have to do something drastic to restart the weightloss, keep wondering about running but just can't face going out in public, maybe I could run up and down the garden for half an hour?

SazZaVoom · 31/10/2009 17:15

hots I too have been in tears today, must be something in the water . Just overwhelmed here i think with 4 days away dealing with everything with the DD's, packing/unpacking cars etc. DH finally taking control of amusing them after i lost it earlier

Not sure on weight here other than we scoffed a massive lasagne between 3 last night and indian takeaway tonight. I have no energy to fight this and will just eat what i fancy, but try to eat slowly and stop when full. 'Tis the best i can manage at the mo

Next week we will be back to all our normal schedules & activities and hopefully more sleep and i will get some va va voom to try and live up to my name.

Sorry to hear of the +2 Hots, although i think you know what you need to get back to doing to restart the weightloss. VG, has all your running kick started any loss for you, or muscle built?

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 31/10/2009 20:12

Oh dear we can't have all the hotmamas in a heap at the same time

Sazz sorry for you too I know what that's like when you are on high alert for days and when you can finally relax you let out a lot more than you had realised you were holding onto iyswim.

OK this is Halloween so let us draw a (thin) veil over current sins and look to the future ie Monday?

I haven't weighed myself today DELIBERATELY or yesterday as I am happy just tracking my running for the moment I think. I was terribly tired on Friday & did only 4.5K but have signed up for this run so have to be at 10K by then or will look a total fool (possibly worse than that rather unconvincing Father Christmas) but also I know I will feel good for Christmas if am comfortably running that distance then.

There is also visitbath.co.uk/site/whats-on/bath-half-marathon-p45581 this in March though think it might be a bit ambitious!

SazZaVoom · 01/11/2009 10:19

Ah ha, AF arrived today. Hadn't even thought about that for not helping my mood/eating [durrrrrrr]

So yes, VG, monday will be virtuous and exercise rich

Weighed this morning - not good after my mini break but i will follow Hots in blaming my hormones

itshotterinhell · 01/11/2009 11:58

LOL VG that Father Christmas looks well dodgy good on you for signing up, and lots of luck!

Sazz glad you got an explanation for your tears and hope you are feeling better today . I knew that's what was making me cry but it didn't help. Feeling fine now although it has taken rather a lot of carbs to get there

Still, sausage brekker scoffed and pumpkin buns all gone so I am back on the straight and narrow as from NOW. Got to remember why I'm doing it and what I want to achieve which I will never do if I keep eating cheese out of the fridge

hotterpotter · 02/11/2009 08:18

Still airly horrifying news on the scales this morning but I was good from noon onwards yesterday so let's see how long I can keep it up...

3X ExerSazz last week, got one in under the wire yesterday evening, phew. Will Do Better at that too this week

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 02/11/2009 08:26

Obviously I meant Fairly horrifying

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 08:46

Only 2 Exersazz here plus one day tromping round Wisley gardens, so i'll call that 3

Hoping to do pilates at lunchtime, run tomorrow and swim Weds and Fri so the intentions are all good

I am back to where i was on that bloody plateau before holidays so i would like to get off it sharpish if possible

Water ladies, water

We can do this

hotterpotter · 02/11/2009 08:59

Just over 7 weeks till Christmas we really do need to knuckle down again.

Off out in the garden in half an hour to do some clearing up as there are only 2 more garden waste collections this year and one of them is tomorrow, then I will try and go on the bike Mon-Thurs with a swim on Friday.

You are right Sazz we can do this We've proved it so far, just need to keep going forever a bit longer

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 13:25

Have binned pilates today as i have the urge to go on the treadmill. luckily the creche have a space at 3 so will see how far i can manage in 45 mins

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 16:20

5k 29:55
7k 44.45

Phew

Look like this colour

hotterpotter · 02/11/2009 16:25

Amazing,well done

I have gardened and refrained from eating cheese out of the packet, having fishy pasta for tea then I'll be doing 11 miles on my bike

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 02/11/2009 17:23

Great stuff mamas.

Sazz am about the same as you I don't remember the time to 5K but ran 7 in 43 so happy enough as am worried with travelling this week am missing exercise.

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 17:47

But surely you'll be running to catch a flight?

VG I ran consistently at 10.5k to get under the half hour (as first couple of mins was warm up). Did have to accelerate to 11.5 to come in under the 30 and 45 though

Happy biking hots

You see, we CAN do this

VintageGardenia · 02/11/2009 20:09

10.5 would be fast for me, I had it at 10 which is a good enough clip, and I go to 11.5 too if I am trying to make time! Not today though.

Do you think we could be consistently be running 7 by end next week w/c 9 Nov
Have attempted 8 by end w/c 16 Nov
Consistently 8 by end w/c 23 Nov
Have attempted 9 by end w/c 30 Nov
Consistently 9 by end w/c 7 Dec
Me run race by 12th Dec
You run race?
Both leaping round like gazelles doing 10K as if were mere trifle by 25th Dec.
QED

?????

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 20:25

Sorry, splurted my tea out at gazelle

Ha, ha, ha ha ha

Did someone mention trifle? Yes please [yuuuuummmmmmyyyyy]

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 20:26

I am willing to give it a go. As a confirmed non-runner

hotterpotter · 02/11/2009 20:57

Oh it is tempting to join you guys on the running challenge but I can't face doing it outside, and the gym at work might have someone who knows me Guess I'll stick to pedalling. Speaking of which, off now...

hotterpotter · 03/11/2009 09:52

I have just had a look on the GmapsPedometer site at where I would have to go to run 7km in real life, and I'm not doing it, sorry girls It's just Too Far [wuss]

Still I did manage 11 miles on the bike last night and only one chocolate eyeball so progress is being made. Good job too as I just went on Food Focus to look at how many calories running would burn, and saw that I am only 1lb down on my weight for 17 September [grrr]

Must Try Harder

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 03/11/2009 10:46

Great Sazz!

Pots you don't have to run a distance you're not comfy with, I think my first run I did 2K or something, you could aim for a 5K run by Dec? You will be fitter than you think with all that cycling though. And re. gym at work everyone is too concerned about themselves to look at anyone else ime. I think the treadmill is just so motivating because you think ok another quarter of a k to go, etc. It's like ticking things off on a list.

LOL at chocolate eyeball. Must confess have been scoffing mini chocolate crap big time since Halloween but they are nearly all gone now (into my tummy though ).

hotterpotter · 03/11/2009 20:04

Got a pounding headache tonight so going to see if some exercise will shift it. Need to work off the two chocolate eyeballs and one chocolate pumpkin

Lost 4 pounds today .....sadly it was my library fine 20p a day - daylight robbery!

SazZaVoom · 03/11/2009 20:04

Evening

Very, very here today. I bought a size 12 skirt. A bloody size 12!!!!!! When we started i was a size 16/18. The skirt is short, sort of tweed puffball from Primark. Sounds foul but is SO different from ANYTHING i would have worn before, i just had to have it.

I also bought a size 12 coat (Per Una) but i will be returning that as i was getting a bit carried away

I was brave and wore the skirt to a 3rd birthday party this avo and had loads of positive comments about how much i have lost

Dived into the pool quickly at lunchtime and did 24 lengths as i was short of time. But better than nothing.

hots i seriously thought i was not a runner but have been amazed at what i could achieve, probably because all the swimming has increased my fitness so much and because i am not lumbering about with so much excess fat. Having said that, if it's not your bag then no worries, we will just enter you into the Tour de France instead

hotterpotter · 03/11/2009 21:34

Who cares what the skirt looks like - it's a size 12 . Well done you, you've worked so hard I am so happy for you

I'm still in the size 16 camp (apart from my size 14 M&S jeans ) but I was deffo a 20 when we started so am not complaining! And this new burst of enthusiasm will hopefully get me to 14 by Christmas.

I have toyed with the idea of buying a treadmill but at £200+ I think I'll stick to my bike. Did an extra mile today so will be ready to ride the Tour next summer

Have been thinking about pilates too, is it like yoga, so I wouldn't need too much room to do it in? Where am I going to find time to do all this exercise???
