Hey Sazzles hope you don't mind the nameheck but you are our inspiration [crawly bumlick]

OP posts:
itshotterinhell · 15/10/2009 08:28

Well I don't know about you lot but I have lost a stone since 10 July, and it would have been more if it wasn't for that pesky holiday Feeling much foxier already, and Sazz you look great so not sure what you're complaining about

We still haver nearly 300 posts so can lose plenty more in that time...

itshotterinhell · 15/10/2009 08:32

Oh and VG your pommes Lyonnaise sounds yummy. Would you do it with veg stock or chicken? I'm hungry now and it's only half eight [rumble]

itshotterinhell · 15/10/2009 09:02

And maccyD talk

SazZaVoom · 15/10/2009 09:54

Arse, tit, bugger

Have just got to the gym and realised i have no trainers . All because DD1 was playing the devil this morning (drawing on the windowsill, emptying bottles of cleanser onto the bathroom floor). Can go for a swim, but i had worked myself up to actually go on the treadmill in a bid to shake my workouts up a bit. Could go home but it would be 1/2hr round trip so not really worth it.

Arse

Well done Oops for Maccy D avoidance. I was pretty healthy and swimming in both pg and put on less than 2 stone so it can be worth it. My weight went on after they were born

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 15/10/2009 18:47

Oh Sazzles what a pain in the arse I hate it when you are psyched up and something goes wrong .

DP is going to identify a "fun" 10K race for me to do in Dec so that's a good goal to aim for. (eek)

Well done Oopsy on the U turn! Gosh that must ahve taken willpower. McD is one of those things you immediately regret though, isn't it, not even for weight issue, just general ick. I remember having burger cravings during preg. with ds1, uncontrollable ones, also for steak, really rare steak. Is it true those cravings are telling you what your body lacks, ie iron or whatever?

hotterinhell I think you should be hotterthanhell cos you sound it!!

My little deer and my Lyonnaise for dins, guitar lesson cancelled for evening in together , and about time we did it, too.

SazZaVoom · 15/10/2009 21:48

Swam a mile and then had a real rollercoaster when i stepped on the gym scales and was only 11 stone [woo woo!!!!!]. I then went home and checked on our 2 sets of scales and determined sadly that i am at STILL 11st 9. Bugger

Went out for lunch and had gammon, eggs and chips. Was truly delicious and worth every calorie IYSWIM. Wine in lieu of tea

Hope your din dins was lovely VG and very virtuous on the dauphinoise v lyonnaise decision

SazZaVoom · 16/10/2009 07:55

Woo woo. 1lb lower this week. I would like to say it was down to the mile swim i did yesterday but i think an early morning loo visit may have swung the scales (sorry if TMI

I shall undoubtedly be back up to at least my plateau weight next week so i can try all over again to get off it. Feel a bit like a hamster in a wheel

Good luck for your weigh ins

Oh and dizzy do you need me to bring you some scales

itshotterinhell · 16/10/2009 08:13

1lb off, that's good you are only 2 off my target now

I am up 1.5lb which I am quite OK about considering the amount of calories I shovelled in while away. Still fractionally down on 3 weeks ago so that is the least weight-gaining holiday I've had in years

Good luck Dizz and VG

Have a lovely time oop north Sazz

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 16/10/2009 08:32

Minus 0.5 which is all right considering I've been without my ca this morning. r and therefore gymless (isn't that a pathetic excuse for not exercising - no CAR!!) but it's left me with lots of pent-up exercise will which I am about to exploit on the treadmill this am.

SazZaVoom · 17/10/2009 07:31

Well done on the small ups and downs . I had rather a lot of boursin and french bread last night than is recommended so not a good start to the holiday week. Must try harder to just eat a SMALL amount of lovely things

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 17/10/2009 10:42

Good resolution Sazz.

Ran 6K in just under 40mins yesterday so am six tenths of the way to my December goal .

Rather a lot of wine last night AND creme brulee .

Sigh.

Water.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 19/10/2009 14:21

ds unhappy when I left him in the creche so only ran 30mins 4.5K, listened at door of creche, raced for shower. He was fine when I picked him up but just can't relax when he's not been happy going in.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 20/10/2009 09:01

Well I never thought I would be the one singlehandedly keeping this thread alive. I suppose I can do what I want now that I have the thread to myself, I can go off on tangents, use textspeak, list recipes based on butter cream, turn the music right up, I might even just use it as a jotter.

I have had two chocolate rice cakes and three coffees for breakfast see mine are not safe hands.

Run at 12, hope can get more than 30 mins, will do if ds happy enough, fingers crossed.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 20/10/2009 17:50

Hmm the VG jogging journal. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if MN picked this up for their next book.

DS cross going in to creche, me guilt ridden. 33 mins, 5K. I can tell you it makes a big difference to run to The Eye of the Tiger and Come on Eileen rather than the Woman's Hour podcast which is my usual soundtrack . I tried to do a weight thing really quickly but I nearly ripped my arms off backwards so I ran out to rescue ds.

itshotterinhell · 21/10/2009 08:40

Sorry to have been AWOL VG but weekend was taken up with a stomach bug then i have been away in Newcastle at a conference but here i am checking back in

Well done on the running - I agree you need a more pumping soundtrack than Jenni Murray (unless you were running away from her) DS will get used to the creche and you'll be running 10K before you know it.

Not sure what's happened to me - didn't eat owt on Saturday, just some toast on Sunday, and have not gone crazy on the food since then but am 3lb up despite having raging runs all weekend must be a combination of all the bread plus the immodium [hopeful] I do feel quite bloated so have a 2l bottle of fizzy water on my desk to get through before I can go home, and am swimming again at lunchtime I think.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 22/10/2009 14:26

Seems very unfair to be sick and not eating and still be 3lb up hope you got through your 2l and weed it away!

6K, 33 mins, happy ds. Result.

itshotterinhell · 23/10/2009 07:39

That's excellent news on a happy DS VG and well done on the running too it must be good to be able to run inside in the warm and dry rather than dodging cars and raindrops outside

I never made it swimming on Wednesday - just tooooo busy at work, and I didn't go on the bike either Xmas Hmm I did 10.5 miles last night though, and will aim to do it again today. All the water helped wee out the bread and I am down 1.5lb this week. Not bad, but considering how ill I was at the weekend I Can Do Better

Good luck VG! Sazz hope you are doing OK up in Bonnie Scotland

itshotterinhell · 23/10/2009 08:33

Oooh, forgot to say, I tried on a pair of knee boots in M&S yesterday, they didn't suit, but I could do them up to the top It was a squeeze and no way I could have got jeans in there too, but still, hurrah Just got to find a pair that don't look all saggy round my ankles now...

itshotterinhell · 23/10/2009 23:28

Well in the absence of any restraining influence I have eaten some Dairy Milk and quite a lot of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked ice cream today. Oh man it was yummerooney

Not sure what is up with my willpower but I am never gonna get to 10-stone-something at this rate

SazZaVoom · 25/10/2009 10:05
itshotterinhell · 26/10/2009 08:39

Flipping heck Sazzarooni I don't know whether to be more at all the naughty things you've eaten or at the lack of weight gain. Phew for you (and also ) My stomach bug has just made me crave bread like nobody's business and I have been giving in to it consequently I am 3lb up on Friday but hopefully it's all water retention again (plus period due any minute)

Got friends coming today for our usual school hols bun and sausage fest so I'll see if I can stick to one bread bun, one cupcake and two sausages...

SazZaVoom · 26/10/2009 13:25

I know Hotter, i am absolutely flummoxed by it. Other than the fact that i had been on a plateau for 3 weeks before we went despite being VERY good food & exercise, so i was due a good loss week. Maybe it all coincided?

I am also quite disappointed with my attitude to food whilst away. I just ate anything and everything i fancied just like the old me. I guess i need to work on that a bit so i don't go off the rails when i stop the 'diet'

On a more positive note, back on the wagon, grapefruit for brekker, tricolore salad for lunch and kedgeree (made with Arbroath smokies) for dinner

Been to the gym and finally made it onto the treadmill. 5k in 35 mins which i reckon is ok for a novice and then 15 mins wobbling fat on the powerplate. Will either run again tomorrow (depending on knee's reaction to today) or swim as both girls with the CM.

hotter beware of the bangers

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 27/10/2009 08:34

Hotter I hope you didn't fall for that old sausage-and-bun routine .

Sazzes fab news on the treadmill, will you be my running buddy? Did you feel different after the half-hour run to the way you would expect to feel after a half-hour swim? Apart from the impact difference obviously!

While my weight has done nothing dramatic for several weeks my clothes are fitting better and I feel great so happy enough. (Well to be precise I feel knackered at the moment but generally, good.)

SazZaVoom · 27/10/2009 08:48

Of course i will be your running buddy , though i think i will be struggling to keep up!
When i got off the treadmill i felt really spongy on the floor and couldn't walk quite straight so nothing new there then . No real difference from after swimming other than a few new aches today as obviously i have used some new muscles. I think i will only run once a week at the mo as i don't want to overdo it on my knee, so i will swim today. Also with a swim i get to use the sauna afterwards which i love

Good news on the clothes fitting better and i REALLY hope some weight comes off soon as you really deserve it

DH made a fresh loaf of bread overnight so i am enjoying a small slice with butter and marmalade and my cuppa. 'tis delicious but will limit myself to salad for lunch

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 27/10/2009 09:04

Yes I feel spongy too when stepping off. But if you have done 5K as your starting run you will outstrip me! I am aiming at 10K by December but my max is still only 6.5...

Yes you would want to watch the knee.

My breadmaker has gone sadly unused for a long time.
