Hey Sazzles hope you don't mind the nameheck but you are our inspiration [crawly bumlick]

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 08/10/2009 19:32

Still resting here on my plateau. I think my body has decided to hoard for winter

I have had words and told said body that it will be off the diet wagon in the New Year so hopefully it will listen

2hr walk today (albeit mostly at toddler pace with puddle jumping), walk tomorrow and then swim in the afternoon

Hope we are all well

dizzydixies · 08/10/2009 19:57

all well but thank the lord for finishing early shift this afternoon - DH starts his tomorrow

now just have to tidy/pack/go to funeral/ deal with kids and take trip to Ireland all this weekend - at least all my stressing should knock some weight off me?!? [meep]

SazZaVoom · 08/10/2009 22:17

Hope the packing has gone well - at least if you are with friends you can use washing machine etc

Just checked the weather in bonny Scotland for a weeks time. Tis shit

dizzydixies · 09/10/2009 09:51

ah now you need to know that doesn't count in Scotland, you can wake up with brilliant sunshine, pouring down by 11am, windy at 11:30 and back to brilliant sunshine again

not great with the packing, ignored it to spend time with DH but am only technically there for Mon and Tues so no intention on taking a lot either

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 09/10/2009 11:24

This fell off Threads I'm On.

Not a great sign .

I only had one.

I am still here though.

SazZaVoom · 09/10/2009 13:20

Afternoon. Still residing on my plateau. No change at all. Zilch. Obviously my conversation with my body about releasing some poundage failed dismally

Did 1.5hr walk with double buggy this morning and swimming this avo, so at least i should be fitter if not lighter

I'm sure you are right about the weather Dizzy and we and the girls will have fun whatever

Nice to see you still here VG - have you managed to get regular creche days/times working for you yet?

Hots back tomorrow - we have performed poorly in her absence

SazZaVoom · 10/10/2009 18:19
VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 10/10/2009 18:25

Moi aussi Sazzles but no surprise there tis only what I have come to expect.

So, I am all set up with the creche, ds seems to be ok about it (about half the time) and I have my programme and so on, and I find it fine to do (which makes me wonder do I need a harder one?) so I will just keep calm and carry on I suppose. And I just keep thinking well so long as I am getting fitter all the time, even if I am not getting lighter I am getting healthier. (One's health is not as motivating as one's silhouette, though!!)

Yes I've been awol most of week, have been very very distracted & had few things going on, won't bore you with details but ds1 unhappy at school - that's causing lot of stress & meetings etc - and other similar sorts of things needing a lot of mum-time. (Which of course I am happy to give, I should add.)

My body is aching.

Ouf. Hots hope your hol has been good.

hotterpotter · 10/10/2009 18:39

LOL Sazz not as badly as I have

Have mainly consumed bread, biscuits, pastries, crisps, beer I got on the scales a while ago and it said 12st 9.75lb when I was just over 12 when I went, but a hasty reweigh and it was a much more manageable gain, phew. Am hoping it is mainly wheat water retention as we have walked, swum, dug holes etc etc like nobody's business while away. Proper big brekker tomorrow morning then it's back on the wagon for me.

Well done Oops on being only overweight and preggo

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 11/10/2009 20:03

Ooooooh, have just succumbed to a piece of hot fresh bread with butter and blackberry and apple jam. Delicious

This is the problem with me eating tea at 5pm . In my defence i only had a small portion and no pudding

I SOOOOOOOOOo want another slice now. One is never enough, which is why i have steered clear of bread for so long

SazZaVoom · 11/10/2009 21:00

Sorry VG, meant to ask if there is a workable alternative for DS's school? If not, are they helping you and DS tackling what is making him so unhappy? So horrid for such a lovely lad . Hope you can work it out for him

SazZaVoom · 12/10/2009 07:53

Morning all, start of a new week

Reporting in 4xExersazz last week (gym&swim/swim/walk&swim/walk).Will struggle for 4 this week due to Sheffield trip and going away on Fri

+1 this morning which is better than the last couple of weeks, so fingers x'd for some plateau jumping (bit like base jumping but less radical )

hotterpotter · 12/10/2009 08:45

I carried on my holiday for one more day but am firmly back on the wagon today. Have even turned down english muffins with butter in favour of shreddies for brekker

I forgot to get weighed this morning but think I am about 5lb up. This is not toooo awful as a lot of it will be bread water retention. I have just looked at the calendar and it's 10.5 weeks till Christmas [eek] so my target for that is 11 st 6lb and non-overweightness...

Here's to a healthy and lighter week for everyone

OP posts:
VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 12/10/2009 09:05

I had bread over the weekend too, and it did taste nice but I had a headache and I am desperately trying to attribute it to the bread so that I won't want any in future...

Thanks Sazz - we have agreed between ourselves to move him after Christmas and at the end of last week I had a letter from a nice (I hope) school which will take him from January. He's been unhappy for too long at this stage for us to think it will pass or that the school (who have been helpful & communicative) can work it out, and he has 1.5 years left in junior school which is too long to leave him unhappy. He will have a trial day in early Nov!

I forgot to weigh this morning too, hotsy. Didn't particularly want to find out!

Hmmm we are all starting from poorer positions this week how shall we regain our mojos for the next 10.5 weeks?

SazZaVoom · 12/10/2009 20:22

VG i think i just need some new strategies to deal with the colder weather as salad is not quite cutting it now. Had soup and a small slice of bread for lunch which was fine.
I am actually 'feeling' slimmer despite what the scales say . Probably just wishful thinking
Glad to hear you have a new school sorted and hope the trial goes well

LOL at you lot 'forgetting' to weigh. Not normally a problem eh?

Hope Dizz/VG you made Hotmama choices at the pub today? Perhaps not

Hots, hope the wagon has whisked you back from holiday mode in a not too miserable fashion

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 12/10/2009 20:35

Weeeelllll I did have a rather tasteless salad with smoked salmon and prawns and I asked for bread with it as I wanted to give it to ds... let's just say he wasn't that hungry .

I have not lost the taste for salad, I am still happy with it (for the moment!) but I am finding again my old troublespot is evening time with tv and fire and the glass of vin. I don't think we watch much tv during hte summer - I suppose no-one does. My new strategy is the same as my old strategy - get the knitting or sewing out. I made ds2 a hat, I am now knitting ds1 an Arsenal hat and I am thinking of making ds2 a quilt. Tis great to have occupied hands, feel less guilty for watching tv and less likely to eat...

Great that you feel slimmer, I feel quite fit & energetic & able though my silhouette is the same somewhat blurry blob .

SazZaVoom · 12/10/2009 20:47

Sorry for doubting you VG. You are a better woman than me. Where there are chips, i always end up with chips

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 20:37

Can i just say to the HotMama's that hots looked hot . So so well done to you lady

We have agreed (i think ) that we will keep going all guns blazing until Xmas and then be on Maintain Central. So Ladies 10 weeks to go which is nothing compared to the 5 months we have done

Baked potato and beans for lunch (shared with DD2) and hungarian lamb (leftovers) & couscous for dinner. Small portion of course

Swimming tomorrow, gym thurs and walk on Fri. We did a bit of a walk today but Hots burnt off far more calories by carrying her gorgeous DS

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 14/10/2009 12:28

That is fantastic to hear! Well done to you hots, compliments well deserved .

Yes I'm in for the next ten weeks, I may not be the most inspirational member of the thread but I certainly approve of all the principles & am doing my darndest (sp?)

Am stuck without a car = no gym for the moment but at least I have to walk / bus everywhere so good for one's thighs...

Sazz I have two venison steaks what nice thing could I do with them tomorrow?

Plain salad lunch and fillet steak and salad for dins. Mmmm!

SazZaVoom · 14/10/2009 14:01

I would just gently pan fry them as i think it is a waste to over adorn them IYSWIM. For a bit of sauce i would either do a little red wine reduction type thing by deglazing the pan, or have some dauphinoise type potato or cabbage with a little creme fraiche, otherwise it could be a little dry. I could always pop over and cook it for us you

Rice crispies for brekker, leek/mushroom/philli toast for lunch and salmon with salsa verde, peas and noodles for dinner

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 14/10/2009 19:49

Mmm sounds good although do my eyes deceive me, I never thought I would see the words dauphinoise potato on this thread other than surrounded by and symbols!!

hotterpotter · 14/10/2009 20:47

Me too VG, I loooove dauphinoise potatoes but the way I make them is not kind to hips etc.

Ta for compliments and pish Sazz at your self-deprecation re chips. There were chips on the menu yesterday lunchtime but you valiantly went for jacket potato. And your tummy has gone down enough to wear a waist-length top which mine hasn't yet so very well done you too

Don't think 10 weeks will be sufficient for me to reach maintenance goal to be honest - I would really like to be 10-stone-something which is still well over a stone away, depending how much I wee over the next 36 hours Have eaten like a good girl today and been on the bike tonight (just 10 miles, easing back in gently), plus hopefully swimming tomorrow to wow them all with my pinkness tan

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 14/10/2009 22:46

LOL at banned food substances. However i reckon if they can make chips with only 5% fat, you must be able to make a low fat but tasty dauphinoise. Perhaps this is my new mission

hots i could hardly order chips with you and some other PT Hotmama's there could I? Especially as i am the alleged 'inspiration' for the 698 posts on this thread

Oh, and i have a bone to pick with you - you said, and i quote:

.......By the time this one runs out we will all be seriously foxy ladies

I think we need to get a shifty on or stop posting so much crap insightful and motivational stuff or we are in danger of not meeting our own exacting standards for foxy ladies

Swam 40 lengths and an hours netball training this eve, Gym and pool tomorrow in a bid to lose a bit before our hols

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 15/10/2009 07:18

My low-fat dauphinoise is not dauphinoise at all. In fact I think it is called Lyonnaise. It's basically the same idea but you make it with sliced spud, thinly sliced onion and stock, in the oven, and it is pretty damn good.

You are right we need to get our arses whipped in gear.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 15/10/2009 07:25

You will all look superb by Christmas. I am keeping up my 4 exersazz a week and trying not to eat the much craved chips and stodge. Never before have I wanted to drive 10 mins out of my way to maccyD's before. I haven't even been in one for about 5 years I got there and had an attack of the guiltys and drove away. See what you have done to me
