This is my exercise week so I will try and get 4 done but commit most deffo to 3.

I was on the treadmill at the weekend and was to find after a 2-week break I have lost the ability to run (had been doing 6K) and could only do 3K. So that is rather alarming.

dizzy, 3lb is cracking!!

BREAKTHROUGH: When faced two days running with vast hotel buffet breakfast thing I really wasn't tempted & had lovely bowls of fruit and coffee and juice, no pastries, no toast, no bacon and saussies. One day I did have a spoonful of scrambled egg and mushrooms, the next day I had a couple of tomato halves. And I didn't feel deprived, I genuinely didn't want the fatty stuff and found the fruit gorgeous! This may well be temporary though as I am normally (or was) a sucker for a bacon sambo.

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 13:17

christ on a bike VG - 3k?!? I couldn't run the length of myself never mind 3k

well done on the brekker - am not so sure I shall be so well behave when we're away in Nov

hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 13:20

Well done on the brekker avoidance VG, that's very impressive. Think I would find it hard not to try and get my money's worth, esp of pastries

Sazz so deepest Gloucestershire is handy for Bristol, Dundee and Florida? I mustn't have been paying proper attention in geography Don't worry, I'm only

MIL brought us a chicken and mushroom pie yesteday (from a farm shop not her kitchen so was yummy ) We had it for lunch, and rather than having nearly half I had about 1/6 and filled up with salad. Two of the nursery staff have been ooh-ing over the new slimmer me .

THERE IS NO GOING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 13:21

Hey Dizz I couldn't run 3k either!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 13:26

chicken and mushroom pie sounds lush - you've just reminded me I made one ages ago and it was delicious - will have to look out the recipe again

Sazz is right next to the infamous international Bristol Airport - gateway to all

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 13:52

Actually we are close to both Bristol & Birmingham airports and on the West Coast mainline and London intercity line so i'm sticking with my location argument

I'm pretty sure i couldn;t run 3k - possibly on the level with downhill bits, certainly not uphill (which is the only option from our house)

What can i cook with Chicken & Leeks for dinner. Not pie (sadly) nor soup (don't fancy it)

Answers on a recipe card please

oopsacoconut · 21/09/2009 16:12

Sazz -risotto? I made a yummy green bean and chicken risotto for lunch and avoided the macarosie sneeze.

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 19:20

Thanks Oops - DH is the risotto king in this house so i have done chicken, mushroom, leek and cauliflower in condensed celery soup with mustard topped with sliced potato. Will see how that turns out

oopsacoconut · 21/09/2009 19:48

euch Sazz - my total and probably only food hate celery and you ruined good food with it!

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 19:51

Oops, i am not a massive celery fan but the campbells celery soup is great as a base for pies/bakes etc as it has very little flavour but is nice and thick

DH decreed it 'delicious'

hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 21:17

Mmmm Sazz that sounds delish. We had stuffed marrow which was also gorgeous but so it should be as it had mince, sausagemeat, breadcrumbs, egg and cheese sauce Only a small portion though

Been on the bike tonight too, seem to be getting into quite a good routine so 1X ExerSazz done already. Just can't seen to remember to drink water, and no matter what they say drinking gallons of tea and coffee just doesn't seem to have the same effect. Oh well, too late to start now or I'd be on the loo all night, will try again tomorrow.

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 21:25

steakpie, new potatoes and veg but only a small portion for me - has to be easy when DH is away at work

well done on the bike Hots

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:25

Well done hots . You are doing so much better than me for exercise in the evening

I am going to do Gym and swim tomorrow, as child free ALL DAY!!!!!

Re water drinking - put it on your to do list when you are at work and when at home leave a full glass in the middle of the fridge at the front and everytime you go to raid it get something essential out you will be reminded to drink water

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 21:27

what is this child free you speak of ???

Hots, water not chilled is easier to drink in larger quantities if that helps?

hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 21:30

Thanks If I go on it as soon as DS is asleep I can get it over with and also don't have to help DH tidy up downstairs

Child-free day that we have come to such a pass that a child-free day is celebrated by sweating in the gym rather than drinking cocktails and getting sweaty in other ways

OP posts:
StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:32

Yes, but so much nicer chilled IMO

Tomorrow is my first day not working but both DD's with the CM. I am hoping to use the time to really crack all the clutter in the house and buy some neat storage solutions for shoes, childrens crafty stuff etc

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 21:34

agree completely Sazz but if its about upping the quantities then its technically easier iyswim?

I love GTLC for storage just a shame tis so bloody expensive

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:39

Was thinking B&Q LOL

hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 21:39

Fizzy is my fave and not bothered if it's tepid or freezing, although it's definitely easier to drink cool rather than cold.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 21:40

now I saw some nice storage in our huge Tesco the other day - tis a Tesco Extra - do you have one near you?

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:40

Hots - no chance of me getting sweaty in other ways tomorrow given DH's appointment tomorrow. Might as well go to the gym

hotterpotter · 21/09/2009 21:42

LOL Sazz good point Have a good sesh!

OP posts:
StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:42

Dizz - we do, but i boycott Tesco

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 21:46

lol - can just see you loading up the volvo boot with placards and causing a scene

StrictlySazz · 21/09/2009 21:52
