well, after a bad week and a misery-induce frozen pizza and chocolate last night, I gave myself a kick this morning and decided to weigh-in to assess the damage done and get myself back on track.

I've lost 2lb and got my stone award

looks like being ill has off-set my damage, so back to it now. (thugh I do have a treat planned for the weekend, but will allow for those and be good the rest of the time).

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

i weighed myself this morning, and i am 2lbs away from my target of having lost a stone in 4 weeks, so im pretty pleased with myself! Now if I lose a lb a day til sat, I will have got there

Well done Connie and Rialentless!

And well done AM on your dress being baggier, i love it when that happens and your not expecting it, gives you a real boost!!

AuntieMaggie · 16/07/2009 22:12

Wahoo... Go Fuzzy! I'm really pleased for you and am sure if you starve until Sat you'll get there

Congratulations connie and ria on your loss

I've lost a pound this week, so very pleased at losing though would've liked to have lost all I put on last week.

Anyway, I think I'm going to start a thread about this but checking my weight progress in my book I seem to put on weight every 4 weeks - coincidentally the week before my period.

Now, should I be getting pre-period weight gain and other stuff when I'm on the pill?

It explains why the dress was suddenly looser and I kept flashing my bosom!

ProfYaffle · 17/07/2009 10:44

Hello all. omg I'm soooo exhausted! Slowly getting over my cold (no, it's not swine flu!) and feeling grotty after 3 consecutive nights out. But I'm now well and truely back in the sw groove. Mum went home this morning so we don't have a babysitter anymore and won't be going out for the forseeable future.

dh is taking the dc to his Mum's for the weekend so I've got 48 hrs to myself - bliss! I'm so looking forward to catching up on some sleep and being able to get some exercise. It's also the last child free time I'll get until September () so I'll be making the most of it.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 17/07/2009 12:59

Gah, i have fallen aff the wagon in a mighty way.

I have been on the mother of all bad periods and decided to eat some choolate (a whole big bar) on Tuesday after convincing myslef it would help with the PMT. After that Wed/Thur were terrible and i just ate and ate and it was all crap.

Im finding it hard to get the oompfh to get my head completley back in it, i have been ok today, i have decided to follow the EE plan in this months mag to try and liven things up a bit.

I have probalby gained a pound or two, i dont want to quit completley and make it several more.

ConnieComplaint · 17/07/2009 18:17

Poor Prof with her not swine flu Crappy colds are yukky, knock you off your feet!
Enjoy your child free weekend... lucky cow

Tits, you're doing the right thing, damage limitation! Some people would just keep on eating choc & crap even when they knew they had weight on! I'm one of those people!!

Dh is cooking gammon, sw chips, beans & fried egg for dinner - I wish it was ready before I eat my feet... hah! would have to make my foot reach my mouth first mind you!!!! That'd be no mean feat!

I did the walk/run plan out of the sw mag today again... felt bloody great afterwards, though exhausted!

AuntieMaggie · 17/07/2009 18:56

oooohhh I'm going to try the run/walk plan in the mag too - is it any good connie?

I have a wind problem. Only for the past couple of weeks but it's only in the evenings and it's loud. DP doen't find it funny anymore! What can I do?

Hope you feel better soon prof

AuntieMaggie · 17/07/2009 18:57

oh and I lost a pound this week and have researched my premnstrual weight gain and it is normal so guess I'm stuck with it!

ConnieComplaint · 17/07/2009 19:05

"I have a wind problem. Only for the past couple of weeks but it's only in the evenings and it's loud. DP doen't find it funny anymore! What can I do?" Buy a stopper?

Yes, I loved it Maggie!!!! I really felt I had worked hard! And because I do it in my lunch break I don't feel guilty about going home & vegging a wee bit with the children
It's easy because the three minute walk between the 1min jog/runs you get time to catch your breath back!!

Glad you checked out the weight gain PMT thingy, now you know & can prepare for it

ConnieComplaint · 17/07/2009 19:06

jogging is this week's p/word!

ProfYaffle · 17/07/2009 19:58

I can highly recommend the walk/jog thing, that's how I started off and I'm regularly jogging 5k 3 times per week now (when I'm not ill!) It does make you feel fab afterwards and once your fitness levels come up you start to enjoy it during as well.

Have a look here see if there's a 5k near you, give you something to train for. My fil organises the Gorleston one, most of our family are running it now.

Well I now look a state as catarrah has made my cheek swell up! Not sure I'll be able to run til that's gone down as the impact'll jar through my head iyswim.

Rialentless · 17/07/2009 20:23

you are ill prof. I had an evil cold this week, and though I'm prety much better I am washed out with it. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

I have mislaid my mag - I put it somewhere safe. I haven't looked at the walk/run pan yet. Isit similar to the couch potato to 5k thing? (I manged the first 2 sessions of that, I did enjoy the buzz that it gave me, but other stuff got in the ay and gave up)

Have just been for an hours walk, took DS2 out on his bike so we were going quite fast, hoping to do some off-road walking at the weekend (if the rain stays away)

well done on the losses.

Rialentless · 17/07/2009 20:25

tits. I have been the same this week I was damned lucky to lose the 2lb. Am thinking I might try EE when we go away.

Stopper? Only if I want to explode!

DP thinks it's instant coffee - been drinking more lately to use my left over milk allowance.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 18/07/2009 09:05

morning all

we had chinese takeawy last night as a payday treat (it's so exciting to have some money left over after the supermarket shop). I was very good all day to allow for it. But there's enough left over for tea tonight, so I'll have to be good again today.

is it the wedding today fuzzy?

have a good weekend everyone

ConnieComplaint · 18/07/2009 14:10

You know we expect to see an inspirational pic of you in your b'maid dress today Fuzzy!!!

We got an invite in yesterday for my niece's wedding in 6 weeks time!! Am looking forward to it - haven't lost as much as I had hoped to by this time but I've lose some!

Am going to look at clothes later on today

Pleased to report that I'm just back from my walk/jog today!!! My muscles ache!!

AuntieMaggie · 18/07/2009 16:42

Wonder how Fuzzy is getting on... she's probably having a few tipples and forgetting all about sw...

I love chinese... had to settle for a damage limiting kebab last night though as we're out tonight for his birthday and I will have a few drinks and sme nice food.

well, connie you have six weeks - how much do you want to lose? you could lose a stone in that time no problem if you stick to plan especially now you're doing that walk/jog thing. how much i would lose would depend on occasions in between - i have to admit to shying out of some social things because i just know once i get there i will be swayed and won't stick to plan.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 18/07/2009 16:53

Hi,

I just started SW last Tues.

Does anyone know if I can use Linda McCartney sausages instead of Quorn ones as I don't much like the Quorn ones. Or are they worse?

Any tips on suprisingly low syn food?

So far I understand that Batchelors Pasta things i na pack are normally syn free. If I want a choc fix then a Curly Wurly is 5 syns. Any other tips?

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 18/07/2009 19:49

hi stripey. I'm not sure, but I think you would have to syn anything but quorn! I remember once at class the leader asked the slimmer of the week what they'd done, and they'd been eating "own brand" veggie mince (not quorn) as it was cheaper. The leader was appalled.

I have choc marshmallow teacakes for my choc fix - 4/5 syns!

my friend and I are thinking, school hols are 7 weeks, we could both lose a stone before school goes back.

can anyone tell me if the idea I have that alpen light bars can be a HEB is right?

had a rotten headache today, so not been as good as I could, but I am almost a convert to sliced banana and mullerllite for breakfast!

I would love to go out for a run/walk, but am too embarrassed to go in daylight

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 18/07/2009 21:41

Thanks for that. I'll have to try some of the other Quorn sausages as I think they do a few different flavour ones that are all free. Maybe I'll like one more.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 18/07/2009 23:40

would anyone like to borrow my lovely DS2 for motivation purposes?

I took him and DS3(in the buggy) out for a walk tonight (far too late, got dirty looks from dog walkers). we were down a lane and he said "muumy, there's no-one here. You could run now", so we did 2 runs, one from point A to telegraph pole, and just after that to bench. He won both times. He is 5. Then a bit later he said "mummy, you aren't fat, it's just 'those' that make you look fat. And now you haven't got a baby in your tummy you aren't anyway. But when you had a baby in your tummy it was big". He is lovely

hope walk offsets leftover chinese.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 23:44

Frozen muller lite yoghurts. HAd the vanilla and choc one tonight - yummy.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 18/07/2009 23:45

stripey, how have you been having your quorn sausages? I like them with beans and mash, or in the cassoulette/jambalaya (more than meat sausages,I suppose that might be a free meal thing), but hate them with bacon and egg. I'm sure in the mag it said Morrisons diet sausages are free (on red). Is it Eat Smart or something?
