Just been checking out people's food diaries - is everyone but me breastfeeding? And can I borrow a baby?!

ConnieComplaint · 26/05/2009 21:48

I do that too.

I have a good week (I think!) foor wise, but a sneaky step onto my scales earlier showed a HUGE gain I dunno how.

ConnieComplaint · 26/05/2009 21:50

I ain't breastfeeding.... but you can have my 'baby' he's four and has a reallly bad nose picking habit!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 27/05/2009 11:34

I'm not breastfeeding! Not for th last year and a half anyway!

I am feeling more positive this morning. I will get there even if its not as fast as i would have liked.

I got these things in Saisnburys today they are little cubes on frozen herbs, they are with the veg and i think you get 12 cubes in a pack for £1.49, you can ger Garlic, Basil, Coriander, Garlic, Ginger and Parsley. 1 cube is 1tsp of Herb so you can just pop them into sauces or stews. Great!

tullytwo · 27/05/2009 12:17

Struggling a bit today-housebound for a few weeks as feeling ill so getting stressed

Also am finding it hard not being able to make something simple-everything has to be measured etc which I am finding hard

I have been trying to adapt my normal dishes (always cook from scratch) but its hard and end up eating the same thing all the time

Anyway just on for a moan!

AuntieMaggie · 27/05/2009 12:27

Aw Tully don't feel stressed

What dishes do you normally like? We can try to help you adapt them. Also there are loads of recipes that SW do that are lovely but depends what you like.

I'm feeling happy and bubbly today - managed not to have the extra syns last night so stopped at 8 though realised as I was going to bed I could've had that 8 syn choc cake (or half of it!).

Today is going well - although instead of porridge for breakfast I ended up with weetabix in work as was running late. And I just realised that the half can of veg curry I had was 5 syns! But still plenty left

tullytwo · 27/05/2009 13:08

Love my pastas and meatballs and thai curries -everything thats bad!

Just struggling with frylight stuff too-yuck!

Also has anyone had an adverse reaction to those muller light yogurts? Have been on the loo all night since eating one last night!

AuntieMaggie · 27/05/2009 13:29

No to the reaction to mullerlight.

You can have meatballs - there are some syn free one's somewhere - I'll see if I can dig out the recipe later. I did a nice veg thai curry one not long ago too.

As for fry light - it depends how you use it - I find that when frying off onions and stuff it's not enough so add water. You can still use oil though just remember to include it in your syns - if you use a tablespoon of oil and top it up with water that should help.

tullytwo · 27/05/2009 17:57

Can anyone tell me the syn value of pureed bananas-cant find it anywhere-find other fruit but not bananas

Am going to do a smoothie tonight as have sugar cravings!

tullytwo · 27/05/2009 18:00

Its ok I found it

ConnieComplaint · 27/05/2009 19:33

Tully, just be careful with smoothies, as fruit isn't free if not eaten in its pure form...

Re: the pasta & thai curries, you can so have these on SW!!!!! Pasta is free on both green & extra easy! Also, if you're on an EE say you could buy some low fat mince & make your own meat balls!! And probably your own sauce too

And sure all your veg in your curry would be free & I'm almost certain that somewhere on here is a free or low syn Thai sauce!

fuzzypeach · 27/05/2009 21:36

I've been in hiding from this thread for a while as I totally ruined my 4lbs weight loss last week by stuffing myself with absolutely loads of chocolate all week - including a whole rocky road I made which was meant to be 16 portions for DH birthday on sunday (it has now all gone, oops!!!)
anyway I put on 1lb which is better than I thought!!!!
Been finding it hard as my 12 month old has started playing up at bedtimes and DH works nights so Ive been stuck upstairs til 10pm nearly every night with both girls trying to get them to sleep and coming down starving and not having energy to make my pre-planned SW meal and so snacking instead.

I have added tits and prof on FB hope thats ok?! i am here if anyone wants to add me!

Hmm, i want a smoothie now it has been mentioned, think i might make one with a banana few strawbs and a muller light and work out the syns.

does anyone know the password for this week?

ConnieComplaint · 27/05/2009 22:25

P/word is boxing.

I'll add you on facebook

I'm the one with Lisa Simpson pic & the same first name.

fuzzypeach · 27/05/2009 22:35

thanks for the pw connie, have accepted you, your kids are very cute!! x

ConnieComplaint · 27/05/2009 22:53

Some of those pics were taken years ago, they're 7 & 4 now!!

MamaG · 27/05/2009 23:19

CC I can't find a thread to ask for sparkly 1/2 stone thingy

OP posts:
MamaG · 27/05/2009 23:22

found it

Does anybody else feel rude if they don't include a farking dancing smiley in their sparkly forum posts?

OP posts:
ProfYaffle · 28/05/2009 06:24

Lol, I steadfastly stick to fairly sober type things, no dancing, shaking or flashing for me. And wtf is the huge brown HUG one?! Looks like a turd slowly inflating, sinister imho. (I've waited so long to get that off my chest!)

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned that dieting programme on bbc1 last night, who's making chicken soup for lunch today?

ProfYaffle · 28/05/2009 06:25

Fuzzy - have added you.

ProfYaffle · 28/05/2009 06:54

I've just searched and can't find any threads from last night about '10 things you need to know about losing weight' was there really no-one watching? All of you get to iplayer now - it was fab, even dh liked it!

Basically 10 tips which have been scientifically proven to help you lose fat quicker or stay full longer. The main ones were:

  1. You burn fat when you exercise but only a small amount, however, your body continues to burn fat over the next 24hrs and actually burns much more post exercise than during. (something like 2g fat during exercise, 50g fat over the next 24hrs)
  1. Low fat dairy products bind to fat in your stomach and make you poo the fat out rather than absorb it. You excrete twice as much fat this way!
  1. Protein fills you up longer than carbs or fat.
  1. Thick, pureed soup fills you up longer than solid food.

Then there was a load of slightly duller stuff about estimating calories incorrectly and getting off the bus a stop earlier. I've looked for a summary on the bbc website but can't find one atm.

LumpyChump · 28/05/2009 07:23

Fallen off wagon but determined to get back on it right now!!

Prof, I saw that programme last night. Some really positive points I thought. I really thought the soup would have been digested quicker.

When you think you know it all........!!

I did know about the calcium though.

Shall be eating more protein rich red days from now on.....

LumpyChump · 28/05/2009 07:40

Am rubbish on facebook........have added Tits but not having much luck with anyone else....

My surname is Capener, initial E and I have a green top on in profile pic !! I am in Wales network.

Add me!

There is a good SW group on FB, loads of before and after pics of members and pics of meals people have prepared.

LumpyChump · 28/05/2009 07:41

Just added Fuzzy too

Snorris · 28/05/2009 08:36

Morning!!

WI yesterday, stayed the same [phew]. I'm only 2.5lbs away from losing 2 stone so I shall have to make a real effort this week.

That programme sounds interesting, I knew the bit about protein filling you up - dh actually told me that . I've never been able to last out til lunchtime on porridge etc like the experts tell you but if I get time to cook bacon & eggs I can go a lot longer before I'm hungry.

Which SW group is that LC? I've belong to the one for my group I go to but there were a few others and didn't know if any of them were 'official'.

Gotta go, baby crying .

LumpyChump · 28/05/2009 08:47

Hi Snorris, not sure if it is actually official but it seems to be a general one and has thousands of members. Has people posting on it who have been in the magazines too.
