New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

sounds good to me SL!! I can't tell you how good it feels to find out my scales are weighing heavy!!

LadyThompson · 18/02/2009 21:42

I am on a gloom. I popped to the pub for one small drinkie with DP and other people from his chambers were there and they kept buying me drinks. I am NEVER going to lose any weight at this rate and I am huge. Losing weight is hard and I feel despondent. Tons of rowing machine tomorrow

LadyThompson · 18/02/2009 21:43

Didn't mean to bore on about myself, Kayz. Take the plunge. I think it sounds like a great idea.

kayzr · 18/02/2009 21:45

Don't worry LadyT. I am huge too. I'm bigger than you, infact the biggest on here!

The meetings are on Tuesdays so I will hopefully go next week.

Veggiemummy · 18/02/2009 22:51

Hello. Well have def over indulged big time this week so not expecting good news come monday morning, but looking in hotel full length mirror has been a huge shock and a good kick up the butt to get me moving. Went for a swim in the hotel associated pool down the road (forgot underwear and had to come home commando) really enjoyed it and did 30 mins, i want to work up to an hour. I dont really count laps as 25 meter pools drive me mental with lap counting, oh for a 50 meter pool to train in. Was a little concerned about needing some stroke correction as i kept running into the lanes maker thing, one time with my face!!! nearly took my goggles off, not good for open water swimming eventually will have to sort that out. i think being away from it for so long i'm a bit out of balance on one side, but anyhoo it was nice to swim. I also partook of the steam room, but i did have my contacts so did the whole pool experience blind. When i went into the steam room there was a man in there and i settled myself down to relax and then suddenly panicked that there may be men and womens steam rooms so quickly ran away. there wasnt but felt silly about going back in. I then walked into the pool engine room thing rather than the changing rooms. I really need to put my contacts on in future. Will hopefully go for another swim tomorrow night when home.

Ladyt booze is my downfall too!

Late as usual - anothe half kilo loss here, down to 74. A kilo a week may be doable for some of you, about 1 lb seems to be what I can manage - every little helps .

Sybil: good point about starting early, we should all be seeing results by the summer

DH is being kind about my extra poundage - he referred to me as 'pre-Raphaelite' rather than 'fat'. He is a little on the hefty side too tho'. Am actually considering a run today if 'i can find the time, or maybe |I should crack open the breast pump so I can safely leave Max for an hour or so...

LadyThompson · 19/02/2009 09:47

Well done Effie. I don't really think a kg a week IS achievable for me; it's just what I'd LIKE to lose and what I am aiming for (setting myself up to fail as usual, with Herculean tasks)...If you are pre-Raphaelite, I am afraid I am Renoiresque

Anyway, I've been wallowing in it enough. Rowing machine, weights, a walk, and soup for supper tonight.

rosmerta · 19/02/2009 13:55

Hi everyone, thought I'd join in here as well. I need to weigh myself & work out how much I need to lose. I've got a friend's wedding at the end of May so at least I've got a goal to aim for!

Well done to everyone so far though, you all seem to be doing really well.

DreamingAboutSleep · 19/02/2009 14:14

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to just join in too! I've been on the WW online plan for around 4 weeks and is all going v v slowly, about 1 lb a week, so far. Am BF so don't want to loose too quickly but was hoping for more at this stage so am getting a bit demoralised!

Everyone sounds like their doing really well here, especially all the excersising that your all doing!

kayzr · 21/02/2009 19:34

ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

Someone asked me when my baby was due today, Urmm he is 10 weeks old!!!

hattyyellow · 21/02/2009 19:37

Girls hello! Can I join please! Am so depressed at lack of clothes I can fit into.

Finally weighed myself and am 76 kg, normally 63. Still have a big flabby tummy and its starting to get to me.

Have a question though, how do you lose weight whilst eating like a ravenous horse whilst breastfeeding? Is there a sensible way to eat the calories needed for the milk but lose weight at the same time? I imagine that cutting out chocolate may help enormously.

Am just too knacked with the girls and DD3 to do that much exercise either.

Help me get around these excuses please!

Hope you're all well. Kisses to all the babes.

Veggiemummy · 21/02/2009 23:24

Hi Hatty haven't seen you for a bit. Kmp Arti and I were kind of talking about this on the post natal thread (I think). I think my ds1 may have gotten a bit hungrier when I was training for the Triathlon season and BFing him. Arti said hers got hungrier when she tried dieting too severely. I think the best thing is to eat sensibly and just try a healthy diet and maybe less but more often (which I often end up changing to more, more often). In that course I was doing it said that you need an extra 600kcal each day when bfing but only 170kcal will come from existing fat stores the rest has to come from your diet. So if you want to get really technical you could work out your calorie intake from that.

I went for a cycle on the wind trainer last night. I actually managed 40mins and felt a lot more positive after it than I did the last time when I barely scrapped out 30 mins. I even stayed on the harder chain ring. However I had intended going for a swim I got the boys to bed early popped my cosi on, even made sure I had underwear. But I only took enough money to pay for the pool and locker. I didn't figure in that the parking meter out front would still need feeding at 7pm and as the pool closes at 7.40pm I didn't have enough time to go back home for more money or even to a bank.

SummerLightning · 22/02/2009 05:25

Hello all not been on for a bit as at mil's. Can't get on computer easily without seeming rude so not been able to update spreadsheet.
Been eating loads here hope damage is not too severe. Not noticed any effect ion dieting or exercise and ds feeding though I drank a little too much wine last night and he just slept for 8hrs straight. Don't know whether to feel guilty or chuffed.
Welcome to the new joiners! If you give me your start and target weight or just amount to lose if you prefer I will add you to the list!
Veggie that is a pain about the pool esp after you got up the motivation to go out!
I have been for a couple of mountain bike rides for a couple of hours each in the last week. They made my upper body really ache very strange. Oh and I also fell off my bike and have scraped myself up. Maybe that is what made me ache but I am also very unfit. Going cycling with friends for the first time on Tuesday. I am a bit nervous as they are very fast - they will wait for me but it will be hard work!

SummerLightning · 22/02/2009 11:01

HIya, spreadsheet up to date,
here it is so you don't have to scroll up.
Gonna try and get in the habit of putting up a summary too so that you don't have to look at the spreadsheet if you can't be bothered (or doesn't work, if on iphone, etc)
Not got time now though, got to go and be sociable!!

rosmerta · 22/02/2009 11:02

Hi all,

Summer, do I email you my details or post them on here (gulp)?

My diet is complete rubbish at the minute, I really need to get motivated to eat properly. Its the start of Lent on Wednesday so I'm going to stop eating sweets & chocolate etc which will kickstart me into eating healthier.

I'm also trying to find time to fit exercising in, ds1 won't let me do any at home so it has to be either when he's in bed or at nursery.

I've got two goals to aim for though, a friend's wedding at the end of May & ds2's baptism in July! I'd really like to get a nice outfit to wear for then but not in heifer size

Veggiemummy · 22/02/2009 18:39

Exactly SUmmer, and now I should be motivated to do another ride tonight but would rather tidy the house and then dinner and watch a movie with DH. We did go out and get a couple more Wii fit things Inc. a snowboarding game (gotta ready my legs for snow trip) and a exercise one that has cardio class as well as a yoga session. As I'm gonna be pretty much indoors all week with ds1s C.pox I will hopefully be desperate for some exercise in the evenings.

Olipop · 23/02/2009 08:03

Right...I'm skulking back on with my tail between my legs. I have been really rubbish and have only managed a tiny bit of walking. My weight is now 11 st 3 1/2 lbs so a tiny bit has come off but not deservedly!!!

Here goes..I will try harder!

katie3677 · 23/02/2009 08:22

Morning, actually remembered to weigh myself this morning, and a tiny bit more loss, but nothing as dramatic as last week unfortunately. I am now 11stone 3lbs, which I think is 72kg, so lost another pound I think.
I am giving up drinking for lent which should help a bit, but I am also going to give up smoking (again), which will probably not help.
I'm trying to exercise, but not managing anything like the rest of you, just a bit of walking and digging in the garden, but I never have been one for exercising .
Not managaing to keep up with the post natal thread at all so hope everyone is well and enjoying their LO's. Mine slept through for the first time last night so am very happy

SummerLightning · 23/02/2009 09:17

Well done Katie and Oli welcome back oli
Rosmerta you can e-mail me or put it on here (I am Claire taylor on the list), but if you don't want me to put your actual weight on the spreadsheet you can just e-mail me amount to lose.
I will be weighiong myself tomorrow as at the inlaws today.
DS slept for 8 hrs again last night!! Hooray so it wasn't the wine. I feel better now.

OP posts:
kayzr · 23/02/2009 09:52

Morning,

I've lost 2lbs this week. Probably all to do with Fridays walk to the hospital.

I'm giving up crisps, chocolate and sweets for lent. Hopefully it will help me lose some more weight.

Congrats to Katie and Oli

artichokes · 23/02/2009 10:25

Congrats Katie, Oli and Kayz.

WEll I have lost the 2 lbs that I put on last week. But that is it. So in the four weeks I have been trying to loose weight I have shed 3 lbs. That is hardly rapid progress. I am quite annoyed as I swam so much this week and ate only one muffin. Oh well. If I can lose 1 lbs a week for 18 weeks then I will be my target weight by mid-June which is in time for summer. I must remember that last time I lost no weight for several months, maybe even 3. And then it dropped off when DD1 was bigger and drinking loads with each feed. I just hope that happens again.

Veggiemummy · 23/02/2009 11:26

(sneaks in quietly hoping no one will notice) 79.5kg that's an increase of .8kg! Bugger way too much food in London. Maybe being stuck at home will be good as no treats.

daisydora · 23/02/2009 12:18

I'm not posting my weight this week as I joined WW last Thurs, so I will post my weight loss (or gain ) next Monday. So for this week will assume I have stayed the same .

Off to catch up on the other thread not been on for ages..........

Nolda · 23/02/2009 16:17

Well done everyone who has lost weight. Never mind Veggie, I'm sure you'll do better this week now that you are home again.

I weigh 80.5kg so I have lost 1kg. I did have a bit of a worry that DS wasn't getting enough milk this week but then realized he is just having an afternoon feeding frenzy as he is now going to bed at 7 rather than staying up with DH and me in the evening. I was very interested in what you had to say Veggie about calorie intake and use of fat stores for milk, only wish I had the brain to work it out.
