SummerLightning · 27/01/2009 08:30

New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

73 kg, so down 1 kg There is a large cream cake in the fridge, so next week might not be so good

Veggiemummy · 23/02/2009 23:19

Mmmm...cream cake.

I bought a fitness coach disc thing for the Wii yesterday. I set it up today, I had to have a fitness assessment by it's virtual instructor, who is a very svelte looking CGI lady called Maya. She had me enter my weight height and measurements for biceps waist hips and thighs. All very depressing. Then I had to check my resting pulse then do 2 minutes of star jumps! (not the best exercise for a dodgy pelvic floor) then measure my pulse again. Then I had to count how many seated squats I can do before it hurts, then the same for girly pushups, sit ups and also see how close I can get my head to my knees ie see how flexible I am. After all this Maya told me very tactfully that I'm not in the best shape weight wise and with all my vital stats and strength and flexibility testing she has designed a little program for me. So I have commited to 3 days a week and she will attempt to make me look like her so will see how it goes. Unfortunately I'm away next week but will do the rest of this week use the pool and gym at the hotel then start regularly when we get back from Germany.

rosmerta · 24/02/2009 07:54

Well done to everyone losing weight

Right, I weighed myself last night, I'm 84 kg now & am aiming to be 65kg.

Start of Lent tomorrow so at least that's the cakes & chocolate taken care of! Just need to work on the exercise bit now.

SummerLightning · 24/02/2009 08:39

Hi all, I am now 77.4, boo hoo. Even worse is that midway through last week before going to ILs I had gone down to 76.4. Bummer.
How come I can work like nothing to lose 1kg, but can put ON 1kg without hardly trying in 4 days (I didn't even eat THAT much)

OP posts:
LadyThompson · 24/02/2009 12:43

85.6. Huh. So I have lost 0.1 of a kg. Fan-bloody-tastic

Mind you, I haven't done any proper exercise since Friday so I only have myself to blame, and I have been naughty with the booze again.

Well done Effie. Ros, you have similar amount of weight to lose as me. Summer, it must be a good part simple fluctuation. Bet you'll be lighter later in the week!

I need to do something drastic. Lovely new Boden clothes I bought cheered me up no end but whilst the size 14 skirt fits, the size 16 trousers do not. I cannot believe this. I have been a size 10 since I was 17 (until now). Sorry to go on but it really grieves me and I honestly thought the weight would fall off me. But it isn't. Any tiny loss is really hard won. Must.work.harder.

Veggiemummy · 24/02/2009 15:22

LadyT you saying you were naughty with the booze, brings up images of you and a bottle of Rioja getting about town doing cheeky pranks, like pressing doorbells and running off.

LadyThompson · 24/02/2009 15:39

Ah, Veggie, if only it were as you describe....Rather, it is me opening a bottle of an overpriced white (am not buying supermarket wine because it's too tempting) which I haven't even chilled and finding I have drunk more than one glass in front of some total crap on the tv.

SummerLightning · 24/02/2009 21:07

bummer am ill, seem to have flu type bug, so missed my bike ride with friends...
On the upside i don't have much appetite, but doubt I will be getting much exercise for the next few days.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 24/02/2009 22:48

Sorry to hear you not well summer and shame about the ride. Look after yourself.

Must get me some scales that weigh in punds - 1/2 stone sounds much better than 3 kg!

Veggiemummy · 25/02/2009 22:37

I did a session with my Wii fit fitness instructor, Maya, tonight. It was really good, I'm not much into aerobic normally but don't mind in the privacy of my own home and I can also do yoga with her and strength and core stability training. If anyone has a Wii I can highly recommend this. It does a fitness and weight check every 2 weeks as well.

SybilFaulty · 25/02/2009 22:45

well done to all who have lost this week. I was 2lbs off on Monday so 11lbs in total now.

Summer, thasnks so much for the chart

Veggiemummy · 25/02/2009 23:06

Thanks for typing all that out and working it out summer, converting kgs to stones etc.

kayzr · 28/02/2009 08:13

OOOOOHHHH my size 16 trousers are starting to fall down!!! Size 14's won't do up yet though!!

rosmerta · 28/02/2009 08:18

Well done Kayz, that's fantastic!

I've stopped eating chocolate & cake etc for Lent & there's already a bit of a difference. Also, it wasn't that hard to give up, I'm not really missing it at all

Veggiemummy · 28/02/2009 11:27

Hooray Kayz that is wonderful!!!!! I feel a bit bad as I was thinking when you said you were sick my first thought was at least it will help with the weight loss sorry is that bad. I know it is also because you have given up on snacks for lent.

Well I weighed myself this morning because we are off to Munich tomorrow and I could have screamed I have done something with the Wii fitness trainer women everynight of the week since weds and did pilates Thursday morning as well and I have actually put on weight. I'm 80.2kg I did still have my bra on but it's not that heavy surely. I know muscle weighs more than fat but can't have grown that much yet. I have been really careful with eating because I have been home all week so no snacks just my meals. Maybe the takeaway I had on Monday was naughty, I didn't eat the prawn crackers though, but there was a lot a fried tofu. Will have to hit the gym in Munich. At least I won't be tempted by the sausages is Germany. It will be lots of salads for me.

kayzr · 28/02/2009 11:45

I did think that too Veggie. I think that being sick has been a big help.

I would be awful in Germany with all the sausages!

Veggiemummy · 28/02/2009 21:33

Luckily I vegetarian so no probs there but any eating out food tends to be high fat so will see.

daisydora · 01/03/2009 10:26

Right I'm posting today.

Started WW the other week and I weighed in at 13st 11. Anyway once I'd recovered from the true extent of my lardiness I cracked on with the diet (10 extra points for bf which was a relief). I get weighed on Thursdays and this week I lost....4.5lbs I am so pleased.

Even better is that as I am a previous Gold Member and because my baby is under 6 months I don't have to pay!!!! I've never been happier. Although I've not been swimming this week as I'm still full of a cough and cold and find breathing a bit hard at the mo, oops sounds like I'm already making excuses for this weeks weigh in

SybilFaulty · 01/03/2009 10:39

Daisy, well done on the weigh loss. I am doing WW too and have found it good so far. As I am a lardy girl (and fully BF) I get a whopping 31 points so can eat and drink a lot.

Am very impressed that you are a gold member. I am going to try to become one this time and then pop in from time to time to keep it off. Have my weigh in tomorrow and am 3lb off my second silver seven. However, we had friends over yesteday so it went a bit wrong.

How is everyone else doing?

daisydora · 01/03/2009 10:42

sybil it was 8 years ago I was a gold member ...its great having all those points isn't it?

Good luck for tomorrow
