New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

Right, I am 12 stone and 5'11" so aiming to lose a stone to start with. Would be great to get down to 10 1/2 stone, but lets not get too carried away...
I am usually a size 12/14 but currently a 14/16, would prefer to bea regular size 12 if possible.
Now that I've stopped BFing am trying to cut down on the cheerfulness and chocolate, we'll see.

Olipop · 28/01/2009 07:11

I'm in...although I still have stuff from DS birthday hanging around tempting me!
I'll have to go off and weigh myself which is not a prospect I relish!
I'm 5ft 5 and was about 10 1/2 stone before pregnancy but could probably do with being 10 stone. Back in a mo with the dreaded amount!

Olipop · 28/01/2009 07:16

I am 11 stone 5 and three quarter pounds!!!
I am breastfeeding so will allow myself the odd treat! Really I would like to do it through exercise (although only 3 1/2 weeks since Heidi was born) as I know that I am so much happier when I work out. God only knows when you are supposed to fit that in! With DS I was able to walk and walk with the buggy but walking at toddler pace is't going to burn off any calories!

artichokes · 28/01/2009 17:13

do you think that the double chocolate muffin I ate with my full-fat latte cancelled out the 90 minutes of fast walking I did while pushing the pram to and from the coffee shop???

where is my self-control?

SummerLightning · 28/01/2009 19:00

sadly probably yes arti! But at least you didthe walk!

I am breastfeeding and am planning on eating very healthily but not skipping meals or doing anything dramatic. Cutting down slightly didn't work thevlast few weeks so I am being reasonably strict and am hoping that now I am fully mobile it will start to work.

Kayz you will have to let me know what bike you are planning on getting as I am a bit of a bike nerd too. We had better not talk too much though or we will borecthe others (except veggie). I got my road bike serviced today. Sadly it needs new brake calipers, front wheel and rear mech. Sigh. Serves me right for neglecting it and riding it in horrible weather and then not cleaning it thoroughly.

Oh and I wanted to walk into town today to get some exercise but was not organized enough and also it was gross weather.

I have seen a really nice Trek in our brand spanking new bike shop. I was literally drooling though the window but it is a bit expensive. This is it!! Must find one much much cheaper.

Olipop · 29/01/2009 06:35

ooo I've got a trek...must get out on it but am a bit of a fair weather cyclist!

daisydora · 29/01/2009 08:57

oli i'm with you on the walking with a toddler! I walked miles when I had DD now a 10 minute trip can take a good hour. DH has promised to watch kids so I can do exercise when he's off, or has said he will come with to look after DD.

I bought a cross trainer when I had DD it was crap...I spent hours on it and it didn't do much. I really need to get back into swimming.

Anyway my top diet tip is soup. I've been making it by the vat load . Loads of veg, lentils and it keeps you full up for a while. Here's hoping it does the trick....

SummerLightning · 29/01/2009 10:12

I'm with you on the soup daisy! I love it!

I used to have a trek my first mtb but it got pinched. I have 2 specialized mtbs now (yes two ) The mens trek full sue bikes fit me really well though and I really like them would like to trade in for one someday.

Sooooooo glad you started this

Am 13st 5 at the mo

Want to be 10 st 5

Veggiemummy · 29/01/2009 20:59

Oh Kayz that Trek is very droolish. I had a lovely Trek that I rode all over Italy Inc up some serious assents but some cheeky young hooligans stole him. I loved him. I have giant now. I know your tight on cash Kayz but I would have a look at 2nd hand bikes as so many people buy them and then hardly use them. Or find out when the new searon stuff comes in for the different brands as then the shops will have sales for the old season stuff. I always buy my bikes in the sales except for my beloved Bianca, another of my loves. I get very attached to my bikes. I'm so sad.

Anyway I came on here for a reason what day are we doing weigh in?

Oh and back to bike stuff in the summer their is good cycling in the peak district so if any of you are coming up let me know. Good exercise!

kayzr · 29/01/2009 21:43

I have an appointment to see the nurse to make a weight loss plan. I am going to lose it even if it kills me.

My GP said I only need to lose about 4 stone so I'm not sure what that other gp I saw was on about.

SummerLightning · 29/01/2009 22:23

Weigh in on Monday as that was what ladyt said originally on the other thread. She also said she will join us on here when back on computer properly.
Def look at 2nd or sale bikes kayz. Also hardtails though less bling will be cheaper lighter for the same price and cheaper to maintain so consider that too.
I will post initial list on here over weekend.
Veggie I love the peaks used to mtb there loads. If I am up there again I will let you know not for a while though also will be mtb not road

Oh and kayz let me know if you want to change your target weight

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 29/01/2009 22:26

Kayz I didn't think you looked morbidly obese in your profile photos. That shot of your preggo belly doesn't look very big at all. I think it's a good idea to go to the nurse though as it's extra incentive if you have her to answer to. Maybe the bike could be your reward for hitting a weight milestone. Mmmmm that gives me an idea I might give myself a present once I get to a certain weight maybe we should all think of a reward if we reach a goal weight and then a target weight, and no it can't be chocolate.

Veggiemummy · 29/01/2009 22:30

I do either but have to say I'm offroad not downhill. Dh has the hardcore kona coiler mine is just a little Giant hardtail that gets me around. It has to carry kids and pull chariot trailers as well as get a bit muddy so nothing hardcore.

kayzr · 29/01/2009 22:39

Summer, can I change it to 66kg please? That is what the gp said my ideal weight is.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for 2nd hand bike. We are just up the road from Dalby forest and it is brilliant for mtb.

SummerLightning · 29/01/2009 22:47

Dalby forest! [jealous emoticon] I live in such a crapbplace for mtbing!

DD was watching our wedding DVD this morning. OMG how thin was I, about 10st ish...am determined to look like that again Although I can't ever imagine my stomach being that flat again

Olipop · 30/01/2009 14:37

DOUBLE CHIN ALERT!!! Lovely picture of Heidi on JJ's photos but ..check out the chin!!!! Eek - I look like my Mum (no offence Mum!)

Veggiemummy · 30/01/2009 19:41

And daisy I bet you didn't appreciate how thin you were. I look at old photos of myself and how slim and fit I looked and I know at the time I used to look at the photos after they were taken and 'oh look at that bit of fat'!!!!

SummerLightning · 30/01/2009 19:43

yes me too! I used to moan when I neared 9.5 stone!

Oli I think it's just cos you are leaning backwards!

OP posts:
kayzr · 31/01/2009 10:00

I was a size 10 when I was about 18, then I met DH and went up to a 12. I was so annoyed and joined the gym and got back to a 10.

What I'd give to be a 12 now!!!
