New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

I know kayz I remember after ds1 'relenting' and buying size 12 jeans and being a bit horrified about that. Now I can't even get those same jeans much past my knees.

SummerLightning · 31/01/2009 21:01

I went out on my bike tonight! For the first time in about 7 weeks (and 7 weeks ago it was just to get to town/swimming pool). It was great though my gears are not working at all, and it was only a little ride.
And I walked for about 2 hrs as well. Though I have had a large glass of wine.
Really hoping that I lose some weight this week.

Haha, DH just said to DS "Mummys posting on mumsnet again...she's probably posting about you."
Me: "No I'm posting about how I'm fat"
DH: "Look DS, mummy's posting about being fat. Mummy's fat because of DS"
And now he's just said
"You better not be quoting me out of context again...saying I said you are fat....They will persuade you I am not a DH but just an H"
Sorry that was probably really silly but it made me laugh.

He did say earlier though, when i was in my cycling gear..."Oh you're in your cycling gear, you look thinner than I expected"...SIGH

SL i think your DH is very similar to mine, he loves me any which way i am but he knows me as a slim fit athlete and knows i am happier that way but also kinds prefers me that way. Some people may find that to be superficial or mean but i know him and i know he doesnt mean it in a bad way and it works to my advantage as he goes out of his way to make sure i have the time to workout.

SL you have inspired me i cant go out on the bike as it is snowing quite heavily now but i will get on the wind trainer tonight, and maybe do just a little yoga. DH is in Beeston this week so home each night, so will get to the pool as well and start training for the races later in the year and on the days i am not swimming or cycling i will try to do some yoga, just light though...dont want to completely wear myself out.

Dont think weight will be down at all for tomorrow but wish i had measured my hips last week as all my new big lady jeans are too big now, damn.

SummerLightning · 01/02/2009 22:02

hello I have put the spreadsheet online with google docs will send the link tomorrow as am on iPhone feeding now.
Tomorrow first weigh in!
I know I will not have lost much/anything as I weighed myself today. Have been grumpy all day but dh persuded me to go out for a bike ride in the snow which cheered me up. And have got the turbo trainer down from the loft

Yay!!!! I have lost 2lbs!!!! Not much but a start.

Nolda · 02/02/2009 08:37

Please may I join? I went to be fitted for new nursing bras on Saturday and the fitter asked me how many weeks pregnant I was! I struggled to fit myself into a 36G cup (largest cup size M&S do) and she had to ask her colleague to check the fit. Her colleague also asked how far along I was .

I currently weigh a hefty 84kg and would like to lose at least 10kg but ideally would like to lose 16kg which would bring me to my wedding weight. I'm 175cm tall and have a big frame so anything less than that makes me look a bit ill.

As I'm breastfeeding, this won't be happening quickly. No more chocolate and more exercise for me. I read somewhere (it may have been on our antenatal thread or another MN thread) that you should wait more than 30 mins after exercising before feeding as lactic acid may go into the breastmilk. Does anyone know about that or did I dream it?

SummerLightning · 02/02/2009 09:17

hey all,
here is my attempt to put the spreadsheet online
here
Let me know if it works!
Nolda have added you.

I have lost 2 lbs too!! So excited as yesterday I had lost nothing! So maybe it is starting to happen.

Nolda I have heard that but have also heard that it varies from person to person and that you have to do very heavy exercise for it to happen. And that it doesn't harm the baby but makes the breast milk taste sour. So depends how heavily you are planning on exercising, fwiw I have not noticed anything after my bike rides, but wouldn't say they were particularly heavy exercise.

oh and well done kayz!!! 2lbs is great for one weeks worth!

Lovely spreadsheet SL and thanks for the exercise info. Oh well, I'll have to get the Davina DVD out as I've no excuse! And must now buy humungous sports bra - yuck.

artichokes · 02/02/2009 10:23

Morning

After a whole week of only the occassional indulgence, and a small amount of exercise, I have lost a grand total of... 0 pounds .

I weigh exactly the same as last week. On Saturday morning I weighed 1 lb less but I rather indulged over the weekend.

Must. Try. Harder.

artichokes · 02/02/2009 10:25

Great spreadsheet SL. Very impressive. Just wish I had better news for column four.

Veggiemummy · 02/02/2009 10:27

Oh haven't weighed myself yet but will in a mo, just jumped on while rocking ds to sleep and wanted say that the research that did on bf and excercise was deeply flawed in that they fed babies from the boob before the mothers exercised and then got the mothers to express soon after exercise and fed the babies with an eye dropper. Many if the babies did not want to take the milk and researchers assumed it was the milk they didn't like not the fact it was from a eye dropper. I trained for a couple of triathlons whilst still bf ds1 and sometimes fed him soon after training and he never seemed to mind it.

LadyThompson · 02/02/2009 11:30

Hello girls,

Right, here I am. I have just weighed myself and I am 86.4kg. I do not want to know what that is in stones as I will jump out the window. I am going to aim to get down to 65kg although really I look at my best at 62kg (I am 168cm, ie 5'6"). That is a LOT of weight to lose but here we go. I will be walking and using the rowing machine in the first instance, as well as trying to keep calorie intake at around 1800. Talk about a mountain to climb... but faint heart never won fair lady, so off we go.

daisydora · 02/02/2009 12:25

My scales appear to be broke...I have lost 0lbs also . TBH it might be the chinese take away on Saturday night, and I did have a couple of glasses of cheerfulness too many on my night out...

However I was throwing some rather dubious shapes on the dancefloor, and felt very stiff on Saturday morning...does that count as exercise???

I wish I had taken my measurements down though as my jeans fastened a whole lot easier this morning, I'm off to find a tape-measure and re-focus my efforts

daisydora · 02/02/2009 12:25

oh and sl thanks for the spreadsheet

zoejeanne · 02/02/2009 14:07

SL the spreadsheet's fab! I don't have any scales at home, so won't be reporting my weight regularly. Like Daisy, I think I'll measure and see if I can drop inches (or an inch even) so will dig out my tape measure from somewhere

LadyThompson · 02/02/2009 18:48

Loving the spreadsheet, you clever old bean SL. Been for a two hour walk in the snow with DD strapped to my front. Only having home made soup for supper. This has got to be good.

Veggiemummy · 02/02/2009 21:27

SL I can't seem to open that link, could be the itouch will try on laptop tomorrow.

Weighed myself this morning and I have lost half a kg. I think that is 1lb so I guess that's a start. Welldone to all it seems none of us put on weight so that has to be a good thing.

I did 30mins on my turbo trainer. Was nice to be on my beloved bike but am horrified at how hard it was and how hopelessly unfit I am. I don't want to even talk about what gear it was in. Really need to go out for a ride I think as I find the turbo really boring, watched 'the mighty boosh' which helped a bit but would rather go out if I can in future.

katie3677 · 02/02/2009 21:52

I need to go and weigh myself but I have an extra incentive to lose weight now. My GTT test came back showing that I have early onset diabetes with a 15% chance of that developing into full blown diabetes in the next 10 years. The doctor weighed me and although my BMI is perfectly normal and am back down to pre-preggie weight she has warned me not to allow the weight to creep back on. I therefore figure that if I lose a stone I have more lee-way. However, I have a problem with discipline nad managed to eat alot of chocolate over the weekend and not take any exercise at all, so not a good start!

katie3677 · 02/02/2009 22:07

For some reason I can't edit the chart, but I have lost 0lbs, no surprise there though!

kmp1 · 03/02/2009 11:53

I'm having problems with the spreadsheet too - although it is very well done!

LadyThompson · 03/02/2009 13:02

Oh dear, sorry about that Katie. About to go on the rowing machine. And am going to purchase a set from good old Argos which for about fifty quid comprises a trampette, a stepper, a Swiss ball (already got two but never mind - does anyone want my spare? Will put in post if so) and some weights. DP is now worried I am going to get obsessed and bore him to death. We worked out that it will probably take me at least until the end of the year to lose all the weight and that's only if I really go for it. Depressing.

SummerLightning · 03/02/2009 13:32

hi all the spreadsheet should only be read only. Think we could get in a knot if everyone updated it at once. Also the google uploaded version doesn't work quite the same as my version - my desktop version updates the imperial measurements when you put on on metric. Can look at trying to make it writeble by you guys if you prefer or o can just update if you post your progress

OP posts:
LadyThompson · 03/02/2009 13:40

I think it's easier if you do it, Summer, as long as you don't mind the hassle. Anyway, well done our Veggie!
