New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

Hi all, well done lots of losing weight this week! Boo for Nolda, but like you say next week is another week, and you have lost loads so far so probably just a blip.

kayz, lol at the Madone, hmmm... a wee bit pricey I feel. I used to have a little Trek hardtail a bit like the one you want. It got stolen, but I still ride its insurance replacement (a specialized) all the time.
Veggie is right re secondhand bikes, you can also try singletrackworld, that has a good classified section.

veggie alcohol definitely my weakness, not cakes. Am being quite good with cakes.

Am failing to keep up with mainm thread at the moment. And i must go to sleep now as I told DH I was coming to bed.

I keep looking on Ebay but there is never anything cheap. The only cheap bikes are pick up only and are normally 100s of miles away.

Hello everyone! Not been on for a bit but still losing miniscule amounts of weight. Mind you I haven't been able to exercise for a few days. I am now 84.7 so down another few hundred grams (like, wowzers...) Well done to all the losers (it's not often you can say that in life and mean it sincerely!) and Veggie, you have given me food for thought (but non-calorific food, so that's finw ) - more long works for me as well as short bursts on the rower. I am not going to pretend I haven't been drinking quite a bit of wine...because I have been. It lets me down every single week.

LadyThompson · 25/03/2009 09:54

I meant long walks, obviously, not long works.

And I didn't meant I was drinking wine this minute as that would be sad. Even I don't drink at 10 in the morning**except on Christmas Day and on aeroplanes, and everyone knows it's Christmas Day Rules on planes.

pmk1 · 26/03/2009 07:04

Lady I go by exactly the same rules.....

I'm going to try and stick to low GI too, and also no carbs after noon for last few kg's

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 26/03/2009 08:28

Hi everyone, well done to those who are losing weight!

I've been terrible. But I've stayed the same, not put anything on, so that's a bit of a bonus! I did go for a lovely swim last night, the pool was quite empty & peaceful.

Interestingly, I was reading something about diet drinks how they can cause a host of health problems. I am a diet coke addict & now wondering if its the problem? So I'm going cold turkey on diet coke. It could get grumpy

EffiePerine · 26/03/2009 08:42

Isn't the diet drink thing summat to do with sugar perception? Hate the taste myself. You may need to drink much tea to compensate

SummerLightning · 26/03/2009 08:43

No carbs after noon? But pmk cheerfulness has carbs!

OP posts:
pmk1 · 26/03/2009 09:49

SL - I should have said "cut down on carbs after noon" The only carbs I allow myself are of the cheerful variety!! Oh and eat porridge for breakfast - so far it's working!
Ros I live on Splenda! Can't you buy diet coke made from that now? I hear it's better than Asparatame products etc...

pmk1 · 27/03/2009 20:26

I didn't post on Monday but I stayed the same
and now have sore throat and cold but that will cut down on the cheerfulness in every sense of the word!

Veggiemummy · 28/03/2009 22:22

Aspartamine is the devils work it is bad bad bad health wise and it is bad for the Aussie suger farmers, bless them.

Just bookmarking myself cos I dropped off this thread am hoping for a good result have had no cake this week and no biscuits either have had a little chocolate but I general have cut back on sugary treats and naughty snacks. I did have three glasses of wine last night and 2 shot glasses on limonecello but apart from that I think I have had the least calorific week for me in years. I think upping my exercise has helped the more I exercise the healthier I eat, weird. I am definitely feeling better for it too. I'm not going to expect too much for weigh in on Monday though as I don't want to be dissappointed, just feeling a bit healthier is good for now, I know I still have a muffin top and bingo wings.

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 29/03/2009 09:02

veggie, I'm the same, the more I exercise the better I eat. I wonder if it just 'trips' something in your body?!

Veggiemummy · 29/03/2009 23:19

I completely ruined my week of being good by eating a crap lunch and having cup cakes at my friends DDs birthday party. Made me feel quite crap, obviously too much sugar but am a little sad as cakes should make me feel good. In the old days when I used to be fit this would always happen if I ate cakes so maybe a sign that I am getting a bit fitter slowly but still a bit sad.

EffiePerine · 30/03/2009 07:51

72 kg today - slowly but surely...

kayzr · 30/03/2009 09:20

Lost just 1lb this week. I suppose it is coming off bit so slowly. I'm doing the special K 2 week thing and then having a healthy main meal for dinner.

Hopefully it'll work.

SummerLightning · 30/03/2009 10:03

hi all, can't weigh myself today, on friday I was 64.5 so down a tiny bit!
I have decided that after this week when I am away I am going to get serious as I am FED UP of being on a diet.
I realised that even though I have been on maternity leave for 3 months post baby, I have NOT ONCE been to a coffee shop and had a cake! That is waht maternity leave is for . I have had coffee in coffee shops obviously. And beer in pubs.
I think I need to have less calorific evening meals and less beer.
If I can lose a kg a week I can be nearly done by the end of the month.
I have decided to stop at 60kg not 59 and lose the last kg when i finish breastfeeding

OP posts:
SummerLightning · 30/03/2009 10:03

Oh and well done Effie and kayz

OP posts:
SybilFaulty · 30/03/2009 10:46

Well done Effie and Kayz...

I am afraid that I am sitting this week out. I felt too fed up to drive to fatties' club this am and be told I have put on / lost 2oz so I decided to have a cup of coffee at home instead. I realise this could be my undoing as you are supposed to go to fatties' club whatever and this is the slippery slope to a whole packet of biscuits, but just could not face it. I'll try harder this week and go again next week.

Summer, you are entirely right of course - ML is for indulgence to make up for sleep deprivation. Pass the coffee cake please .

Kettle's boiled, so it's coffee and a biscuit here.

pmk1 · 30/03/2009 11:12

WTF!!! I've plateaued! Right, a cheerfulness cut back

Veggiemummy · 30/03/2009 12:30

This is getting ridiculous there must be something wrong with our scales, i'm 79.5kg I've put on 200gms, I was sure I would be in the 78s today even if it was 78.9kg, and I have been so good this week with food and exercising 4 days. I haven't been walking as much but surely the other exercise would have done something, surely it wasn't the Thai takeaway and cheerfulness on Friday night?!?

pmk1 · 30/03/2009 12:40

I'm the same Veggie - I know I don't have much at all to lose, but 5kg shouldn't be THIS hard??? It certainly hasn't been in the past. I've had an awful cold and didn't par take in any cheerfullness at all over the weekend and only the odd glass during the week, plus I was exercising before I became ill earlier in the week.... I did have a carbonara last night and left overs just now for lunch but seriously - I think digital scales are dodgy... dh said to get on 3 times and take an average... so I did and 3 times it said exactly the same!!! I'm going to stay away from this thread until I see a significant loss on those bloody scales.... It would be better though, as most have a bit more than I to lose, so I will shut up

EffiePerine · 30/03/2009 13:38

Veggie: if you are exercising could you be gaining muscle? Esp if you cut down on the exercise during pg. Are your clothes feeling looser despite the plateau?

SL: I agree that diets are SO tedious (not that I'm following a diet, jsut trying to eat less crap and move around a bit more). I cannot say I have been avoiding cake in coffee shops either

pmk1 · 30/03/2009 13:49

I just read back my last post, and it sounded a bit conceited. It wasn't at all meant to. I'm just annoyed as I have always been a slimish person so even though to a lot of people I don't look overweight at all now post baby, I still know in myself that i'm heavier than I was and I have a few kg's i'd like to lose a few kg's to get back to my old self, and I'm tired of hearing people get bitchy about it especially a couple of friends who only knew me since being pregnant, and therefore get pissed off at me for claiming I have to lose weight since they are a tad heavier - shouldn't matter, should it? It's about being happy within yourself and getting back to the way I want myself to be, right? Irrespective of if others think... ok, i'm done.

Nolda · 30/03/2009 18:09

Well done to this week's losers and don't fret to the others.

Today I weigh 78.6kg so that's a loss of 600g I think. I can't say that I've done anything different from the week before when I put on 200g. Eddie, however, has been eating like mad, so it could be that. At least growth spurts do have one upside.

pmk you don't sound at all conceited and I agree that weight is a very personal thing.

daisydora · 30/03/2009 20:20

I lost another 2.5lbs this week, another 1.5 this week and I'll have done the stone I wanted to lose before my holidays.

Congrats to those who have lost, and to those who haven't don't worry tomorrow is another day. Although it is hard to try and stay focused at times.

We cleaned out some of the attic today and found a dress in an old suitcase that I adore(think SJP in Sex & the City). Its now hung in my wardrobe as a source of inspiration, although its a bit depressing how small it is at the moment
