New thread for us to waffle on and moan about baby fat, without boring the others...and hopefully drop a few pounds along the way!

I am currently 11 stone - 69.8 kg
Want to be pre preg weight of 59 kg, about 9 stone 4 i think.

If everyone posts stats maybe i can do a bisou style list. (don't post weights if you don't want to! amount to lose will do!)

Weigh in on Mondays?

I've just got into a smaller pair of jeans!!! They are still 16's but smaller ones!!

SummerLightning · 01/03/2009 23:08

hello, congrats it sounds like there is lots of progress on here!
Well I have been exercising loads and being pretty good, with exception of moderate amounts of cheerfulness on my night out sans DS (didn't even eat that much even though we went out for a meal). BUT I am not going to weigh myself til Thurs as that is when I am back from parents.
Oh but bummer to veggie, sorry that you haven't lost loads despite effort, hopefully it is just a blip and you are on your way down anyway!

Morning,

I've lost 4lbs. I am putting it down to being ill though as I haven't been that good these last couple of days. I've had no snacks except fruit but I did have second helpings of a pasta bake we made.

Olipop · 02/03/2009 08:03

Rats (sorry if that frightened you Summer!) I am still exactly the same. I blame those damn chocs. I've been doing more walking so hoping for a better result next week.

Olipop · 02/03/2009 08:03

And well done Kayzr!

artichokes · 02/03/2009 09:06

Morning all you shrinking ladies

Congrats to Kayz and Sybil and commisserations to Veggie.

I am getting a bit confused about what I have lost as my gym scales and home scales tell different stories. I also can't remember what I weighed last Monday. Anyway I certainly have not lost much. I am either the same or a fraction less depending on which scales I believe.

For consistency I am henceforward going to report my Sunday night gym weight as the gym scales seem most reliable. So last night I was 79.2kg after my 50 length swim... However I shoulod probably admit that I have prob gained since then as we went to some friends' house last night and I overindulged thanks to their very impressive cheese board [oops].

Nolda · 02/03/2009 09:52

Good morning everyone and well done.

I'm afraid that I haven't lost any weight and still weigh 80.5kg but at least I haven't put any on. I must try to fit in some more exercise this week. I blame DH as he was away over the weekend so made it difficult.

LadyThompson · 02/03/2009 12:24

Hello girls, and SUPER well done to Kayz (good on the jeans as well as the weight loss) and Syb. I am now 85.2 so have apparently lost .4kg (which I suppose is about a pound). I am kind of pleased but heck this is all very sloooooooow. Every week I say I have to work much harder and every Monday is like Groundhog Day with the scales. I find it hard to fit exercise in to my hectic schedule but it has got to be a priority I suppose. I am not too bad on the eating - I don't eat sweets and chocs anyway, but as you all know the demon drink is a killer for me and I guess impedes my progress. So again: must try HARDER (unless I want to spend the rest of my life looking like a pig who has decided to get up on its hind legs and put some clothes on )

Dunno why that posted twice.

SybilFaulty · 02/03/2009 12:44

Well done to everyone who has lost - Kayz, that is amazing , fantastic result. The jeans is always a good feeling. Arti, I think that the once a week weigh on the same scales is the way forward. And you ARE going to the gym which is more that I can claim.

Lady T - a lb is a lb, so you are going in the right direction. Remember that you are a ery glamorous and gorgeous woman at whatever weight (and I have met you so I know ). Have you got an appointment with your endocrinologist? Insulin related things make weight loss so hard, so hats off to you. And I am with you on the cheerfulness - far too much here too, but it does make life much more fun.

Went to fatties' club this am and lost 2.5lb so am pleased. Now just the 2st to go.

LadyThompson · 02/03/2009 15:19

Syb, well done on the loss! That's great! I guess we just have to stick at it and it will all add up in the end, it's like saving. I haven't seen the endocrinologist - I last saw him when I was pregnant and he basically told me not to darken his door until 6 months after the birth so my body can settle down, so reluctantly that is what I shall do. The fact is, one of the best things for insulin resistance is lots of exercise so I just have to get on with it really.

kitkat9 · 02/03/2009 16:45

Where so I sign up?

Ds2 is 10 weeks, am bf'ing and feel like I'm enornmous. Am 5'3'' and weight is sticking around the 75kg mark - so about 11.7st? Yuck. I used to be a size 10/12, now I'm pleased if I can wear size 14. I want to get down to about 10 stone.

I am eating pretty healthily, and trying not to snack but I'm sooo hungry! Dies anyone have any healthy, filling snack suggestions? I can't get to the gym at the moment, so was planning on walking with the double buggy as much as possible, but it still freezing here, in fact there's 10 inches of snow on the ground today (am in NE USA) so there won't be any walking for a while..! I do have a mini stepper and keep telling myself to start using it, but it's hard to get motivated.

I just feel like my body is storing every ounce I eat and it's stuck to me. My belly is awful, as are my hips and thighs...and arms...and back...and chin.. bleurgh!

kayzr · 02/03/2009 22:34

Hello kitkat,

I now have something to work towards. For our anniversary we're going on the pullman diner on the North York Moors Railway. I don't think there is a strict dress code but I want to wear a lovely dress.

Kitkat, something I haeve started doing is chopping up carrots, celery, peppers and putting them in the fridge. Then if I feel a need to snack I just have some of those. You can also have hummus to dip them in. It really helps me.

Nolda · 03/03/2009 10:01

Hi Kitkat. Do I recognise your name from the Dec 08 ante-natal thread? Summerlightning is the keeper of the spreadsheet.

On the snacks front, I eat a pink grapefruit like an orange when DD is having her supper which is when I used to tuck into the toast big time. Not that filling I know but it's such a faff that by the time I've finished it I've managed to get my greed back under control.

katie3677 · 03/03/2009 11:11

The not smoking is proving hazardous to the weight loss as expected, I have put on a lb, so am 11 stone 5lb. And as I have also given up booze for lent, I can't even blame that. It's purely down to snacking on unhealthy stuff...must do better this week.

rosmerta · 03/03/2009 15:12

Well done to kayz, sybil & lady t!

Commiserations to Katie, I'm sure it will the not-smoking will get easier.

Hi KitKat!

One thing I've started to do is to squirt washing up liquid on ds1's plate as soon as he's finished & that way I can't scoff it down!

daisydora · 03/03/2009 17:41

lol rosemerta - I do the same with DD's leftovers!

rosmerta · 04/03/2009 08:12

Daisy, it definitely works though I have to carry the washing up liquid to ds1, not his plate to the sink!

Anyway, I went for a swim last night, did 20 lengths so not bad but want to increase obviously!

And, I lost 1lb . I know its silly to get excited over 1lb but its been a while since I've lost any weight so its a big deal!!

I've got my friend's wedding invitation stuck on the fridge to stop me snacking, reminds me what I'm losing weight for.

LadyThompson · 04/03/2009 10:23

Well done Ros. When's the wedding?

kayzr · 04/03/2009 12:10

I have found a bike that I really like. Plus the bike shop do this payment option where you pay a deposit and then pay the rest off when you can. So I might do that.

rosmerta · 04/03/2009 13:25

LadyT, its at the end of May so have a bit of time. But I'd really like to get a new dress & I don't want it to be a size 18!

Kayz, that sounds like a good shop. Now that the weather's a bit nicer, we'll probably start taking the bikes out more.

kitkat9 · 04/03/2009 18:40

Hi all,

Nolda, I may have lurked around the Dec ante-natal thread but I'm hopeless at remembering to go back to htreads I've been on...in fact don't be surprised if you don't see me again on here for a while

I've decided that I don't neccessarily (sp?) care what weight the scales say (although it would be lovely to see 8st again!) - I just want to fit comfortably into my size 12 clothes, without feeling like crap when I catch sight of myself in the mirror. The thing is, my body's changed shape since having dc3, my belly seems to hang over my waist band and is droopy looking and disgusting. No stretch marks though, so that's gotta be good. I just can't imagine ever getting back to pre-baby shape. And I'm coming to realise that until I stop bf'ing I'm not going to lose a significant amount of weight, so I'll up the exercise instead of doing nothing.

Am about to go and pick up one of these ($25 from craigslist, yippee) and plan to do 30 minutes a night on it, so wish me luck....

desperate to get back on a treadmill but can't afford it. Plus I'm moving back to the UK in a few months and want to have lost a good chunk of flab so my old friends aren't horrified by what I've become...mind you, there'll all popping out babies left right and centre so it's going to be a fat ladie's club indeed...

kitkat9 · 04/03/2009 18:42

SummerLightning · 05/03/2009 10:40

Hi guys, sorry not been around, have been at my parents.
Well I only weighed myself this morning but I have lost 1.4kg so 3lbs.
I am so happy not just about this but also that I have been exercising a lot and feeling back to something resembling normality physically. EG, when I go up the stairs, I am finding myself wanting to run up the stairs! Before my stomach was still hurting a bit so I didn't.
I also did three mountain bike rides at my parents, and they were proper rides with big hour long climbs in them, which was great. The turbo trainer is going to seem even more boring now but never mind.
Oh and I bought another pair of M&S jeans in size 16 but I think they are going to have to go back as the originals are getting too big!

kayz what's the bike? And well done on the weight loss I am sure it was hard work as well as being ill.
welcome kitkat!! I hope you do stick around as I have added you to my magic spreadsheet

I have to upload it now!

Sybil I have you down that you only have 1 stone 6 to lose, did you change your target?

And daisy I am confused by your weight stuff now!! So were you more than you thought on those damn wwers scales then? I have taken 4.5 lbs off your weight anyway.

Anyway gotta go, as DS grumbling and computer about to run out of batteries, will upload updated spreadsheet later!
