I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Aaah Congratulations Banana! Thats lovely news

Well done Countess and silentterror

Lisa don't be disheartened. Sometimes it takes aweek to register the loss. Please don't start eating everything in sight out of frustation (although I do know how frustrating it is).Just carry on and you will certainly see a good loss next week.

I am back down to 10st 6lb! Hooray! I feel like I can start again.

I have eaten like a pig today too Countess sfter my weigh in. It is stupid. I just have no self control.
I really can't afford to do this - the wedding I'm aiming to lose weight for is in 3 weeks. I would love to lose 6lbs by then and be 10st. I am going to do that!

Wintersun · 21/02/2009 19:43

I was reading a bit on healthy eating on the bbcgoodfood guide and there was a little bit that said that a group of people were told to eat an apple before each meal and they lost an average 1.5 stones each in 3 months!

I am going to eat an apple before dinner every day.

PollyGarter · 22/02/2009 11:16

slightly... erm... out of date responses...

Great going with that exercise bike, Countess. Not great to have all the fellas come back from hols to have to wait on them!! I hope your household all get better soon, and treat you to something nice, for all this pampering they're getting for being ill...

Banana, Fantastic news!!!!! Wow! Congratulations! I'll look out for your posts on arrivals in a several months!!!
Re exercise front, i'll second the Davina, pre and post natal for the later stages, it was the only thing i could manage with my mammoth bump!

Tessieb, yeah it's strange how some days are just plain old 'hungry days'. No reason, really, they just happen. I'm confused...about pmk. The pmk says to embrace the hunger and know that's it's working for you, but on the other hand, ideally should eat before you get ravenous. Actually... in typing this i just worked it out... maybe it's to put a positive reinforcement behind the idea of hunger, rather than a negative, and then take action so that you no longer feel it until it's uncomfortable. Does that make any sense? Thinking and typing at the same time, doesn't always happen for me... How's it going with pmk anyway?

Sorry about the horrible shift SilentTerror. My brother's a nurse, and he finds the stress and the tough hours difficult for his weight. But you must be burning some serious cals whilst working. Brilliant 3lbs! It won't be long till you're there!

Power walking is brilliant Counting, i hope you're enjoying it! I'm working my way up to it, still on the strolling stage!

Oh Lisa! To have a barn! XT or sex . You cracked me up! Lent has come at a rather handy time.
If you're not losing weight on 1200 or less cals, something may be up... more than likely, you are losing weight, but it's less than an amount registered on your scales... It would be boosted a lot when your exercise gets into gear so your metabolism cranks up. But check it out with a GP, to be sure. My mum has hypothyroidism, hardly eats anything and still puts on weight... so just get a quick test done for peace of mind.

Good going Wintersun! You focused to get back and you're going to go so much further now. Well done for breaking down that barrier! I'm going to give the apple a go too... i love apples. Glad it wasn't oranges.

Well... i made a loss over the fortnight... going to have to focus myself tho, as i'm under my pound a week target. I think i'll do another kickstart starting tomorrow - as 11st seems to be a bit of a wall for me. Then i'll go back to pmk undiluted...

Lots of water, exercise and postive thoughts about your lovely selves, ladies. Have a great week ahead!

Hi everyone. I wrote a really long reply to everyone's comments earlier, then somehow it all disappeared so I'm starting again!

Anyway, good news. The WLR site I'm using is really helping me - I've lost 1.5lbs this week! As it's been half term we've been out for lunch a few times and I went out for meals last night and the night before, so am v pleased about this.

I went to my son's friend's dreaded swimming party today and it was really good fun. I felt really self-conscious about going in the water with the other parents before I got there, but it was fine. Guess everyone else was in the same position!

Polly, I didn't feel PMK was working for me, or maybe I wasn't listening enough. Seems that you are really doing well with it though - bet you'll be 10st something in no time at all. I've got some catching up to do!

Banana - congratulations, that's wonderful news. Please let us know how you get on. When is the baby is due?

Lisa, don't be disheartened - it's a slow process but you'll get there. I'm wondering if you're actually having enough calories as your body can go into starvation mode and hold onto everything is you're not eating enough. 1200 calories isn't a lot especially if you're exercising a lot. WLR advise not going below 1100, but exercise always adds on more calories so you need to eat more. Maybe going up a little will actually help you lose weight?

Countess, hope your family feel better soon.

Well done Wintersun. I'm sure you'll get to your target in time for the wedding as you seem so determined.

Well Done on the weight loss tessieb

Well, I have ended up getting this vomiting bug the kids and DH have had. Feel pretty rotten at the moment although have finally stopped being sick, thank goodness. So I imagine I will have lost weight this week, but I can think of far nicer ways of doing it.

tessieb · 23/02/2009 17:00

Poor you, countess. Hope you feel much better soon. Hope you're being well looked after!

Mixedmama, I'm sure you'll get rid of that extra 2lbs quickly. Sometimes life can be so busy it's hard to remember to keep the calories down!

PollyGarter · 23/02/2009 20:17

Hope you had a lovely celebration Mixedmama! Spring will get you down 2lb soon enough!

So sorry Countess. Take it easy.

Oh bother, blow, and various expletives... i can't stick to the rose colney kickstart - i tried - but i think i'm programmed for pmk now, and have no willpower whilst on a 'diet'. Back to pmk again... slowly but surely...

Wintersun · 23/02/2009 21:43

Well done Tessieb! And well done for the swimming too! Glad you had fun

Mixedmama apparently, if it goes on quickly, it will come off quickly so don't worry too much.

Thats a horrible bug Countess. Hope you recover soon.

Polly, at least you know what works for you - stick with it, I say

Good day today but as it was a work day, no exercise except a 1/2 hr walk.

Keep it up everyone! Lets shed that winter blubber!

LisaLessLumpy · 24/02/2009 06:44

mixedmama I know your frustration but if you have been eating that many takeaways to only get away with 2lbs is good. Don't worry it will soon come off once you are back on track

countess - Hope you are feeling better soon. Both my boys have had this bug too, DS2 last week, DS1 started yesterday, touch wood I have avoided it so far, my tummy felt crap on sunday and I didn't eat much, but so far have avoided any outages (for want of a better word)

Polly I hope you get back into the pmk groove soon, I have been trying to follow his 4 golden rules but haven't had chance to listen to the CD yet.

Wintersun half an hours walk is still exercise

Well we have moved the XT into the playroom and I think this is really going to help me, I did 40 mins on it yesterday morning whilst DS2 was asleep that I wouldnt have had the chance to do when it was in the barn. We were out last night but if I was in I would have got on it again during Corrers

countesscaloriecounter · 24/02/2009 12:22

Thanks for the get well wishes ladies. I am feeling quite a bit better today, apart from feeling washed out.

On a totally different subject, I am such a proud Mummy today. My DS, who is 13 months old tomorrow, has decided cruising around the furniture is boring now, and launched himself into walking today and did 15 steps, including turning around! Awwww. My baby is growing up!( Sorry for the hijack, but I am very proud of him!)

Hope you don't get the bug Lisa. It's truly vile. My jeans are hanging off me, so I know I've lost weight, but I'd rather not have been sick in the first place.

PollyGarter · 24/02/2009 13:41

Glad to hear you're on the mend Countess. And woohoo! for ds! It's so exciting! Have you shot some footage for keepsakes? I think our little fellas are about the same age started walking very recently too - i stifle a laugh every time he falls over tho... it creases me up, as he's got a big grin on his face and just gets on up again. they're not like this for long, more's pity. (pfb swoon over)

Thanks for the encouragement Wintersun... best to see it through methinks! Good on you for squeezing in a 30 min walk... it's a challenge to find any time when working.

Lisa, try not to crack up when listening to the cd... every so often he just comes over a little... well... you'll hear...
Fantastic that you've already started on your xt again! It must feel great!

Well, I'm heading out for a walk today. Went and did a top up shop earlier today, and found all the agave syrup gone... curse that pancake day rush!!! Have a good one y'all!

tessieb · 24/02/2009 13:49

Just done a 75 minute yoga class this morning! Not been for about 4 weeks, so bet I'll be aching tomorrow. Really enjoyed it.

Countess, that's so sweet about your DS. It is such a long time since my DS was just learning to walk (he's 7 now, they grow up so fast!).

Enjoy your (low cal) pancakes tonight.

bananapaddlepop · 24/02/2009 15:13

hi ladies,

i've had an early miscarriage so feeling pretty rubbish. but after quite a traumatic pregnancy first time around with my dd I'm in this strange place where I think it's better to have lost it now than later or had another bad pregnancy.

anyway, i'm going to have a few days off, DH really cooking me up some treats, and then I'll be back to rejoin you if ok.

just needed to say hi..

xx

countesscaloriecounter · 24/02/2009 15:16
