I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Afternoon all

Today;

Bacon & egg for breakfast (tried to make it healthy . Grilled bacon and fried eggs in fry light...

Banana & fat free yoghurt with honey for lunch

Having prawn & green veg stirfry with soba noodles for dinner. No wine or dessert!

Drank a few cups of coffee and lots of water.

Welcome back banana countesscaloriecounter - all is not lost. Tomorrow is another day, and all that. I have had some right cock-ups along the way, but you can make up for them with a bit more exercise in the long run. Don't give up!

Countess, we've all done something like that at some point. Just climb back on... it happens. The most important bit is that you've been treating yourself right with your exercising and eating. Congratulations!

Polly (with the many names!) - are you still doing well with PMK? How often do you listen to the CD?

I think it is a very difficult time of year for losing weight, so a big well done to all of you who are persevering. Someone I work with goes to Slimming World, and said at her meeting this week only a couple of people had actually managed to lose weight over the last week (and nobody lost much). The others either stayed the same or gained a pound or two. They're all blaming the cold snowy weather!

polly are you going to surprise us with any other names..

wemt to my belly dance class this evening... was good fun although everyone except one older lady was really really skinny... realised that i have to feel abit attractive when i do dancing rather than leggings and t shirt so am going to get me a long skirt to wear and wear my hair out.. ridiculous the things i have to do to motivate myself.

Also found out the gym where the class is has a pay as you go scheme so DH and I are hopin to start at the weekends... altho we have loads of virgin active vouchers to use first.

bought a ww scales from Argos today so that i can start weighin in at home. will weigh in properly on friday as i still think that is a good day.

have got a bit carried away with portions lately so have been doing the special k diet for the last two days in a bid to get me back to the reasonable portion sizes.

Hi everyone. Haven't had time to post this week as have a sick baby with the runs and have had to do an extra day at work this week so I didn't have to take one of the days last week off as holiday.

My house is a tip so I need to try and clean up.

Banana glad you had a good holiday and well done on the weight loss!

Magicpudding is a scrumptious sounding name! mmm it reminds me of comfort, warmth and stodge!

Mixedmama I've been looking on ebay and there are some great jangly scarves that you can tie around your waist for belly dancing. They look fantastic and sexy and I'm def getting a cheap one!
Dh is still waiting for me to show him some moves but I'm not doing it until I've improved.

I've been good on the food front for the past few days but haven't got much exercise in. Does commuting count as exercise? I'm always rushing from trains to platforms and running up escalators etc

Today I am going over to a friends to eat so will have to be extra good. I haven't done any shopping so am making do with what we have.

1 slice wholemeal toast

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone.

I did that Davina 30min one Pump on Tues night and my legs and butt are still killing me. I really liked it though, I swear I could feel it actually fighting the flab.

Oh Polly my dd has the magic pudding themed 2006 (her birth year) mint coin set - her aussie godmother gave it to her. Where are you from in Aus?

Wintersun and Mixedmama - belly dancing sounds like such fun. Much more than slogging it out on a treadmill or something.

We have a wedding on Saturday, (I did want to have lost a stone by then, but anyway) does anyone have any good low fat soup recipes? I'd like to stay really low on my points till then....I have enormous control briefs for under my dress but need as much help as possible.

Hello Tessieb, yep i'm still doing the pmk. Though i haven't listened to him either yesterday or today so far... that's when i get into trouble. I try to listen to him twice a day whilst out and about pushing the pushchair. But if i don't go out, it's a little harder as the pfb wants to pull out the headphones. And it completly works - so long as i listen to it... that's the catch.
Are you still doing it also?

Great to hear about the class mixedmama. Shimmy down to a minimama! And good for you with the scales!

Summer dresses! Ooh Wintersun... now that's a real nice idea. What to wear?! Commuting def counts as exercise. That, and a chance to listen to ipod/catch up with reading(if you get a seat) are the only good things about it!Have fun with your friends meet up!

I'm a Perth girl, Banana, tho my family, except for one brother live in Sydney now. Spent my uni days in Sydney also. Have a great day at the wedding! I remember before my wedding i went on that Liz Hurley watercress soup thang and though, i wouldn't do that diet now, i did enjoy the soup.

Everyone out at MIL inc chicken pox ds2 as my BIL now has chicken pox so dont have to keep them away now... used the time to blast (and i mean incredibly loud) arabic music and have my own impromptu belly dancing session... sweating buckets... if anyone had walked in on me it would have been very embarrassing indeed.

am now winding down to turkish protest music

just had a lovely tuna steak with small amount of mashed potato and salad. Feel very full, which is fab.

Anyway off to have a read in the bath before all the boys are back.

Just a quick hello tonight, as feeling really grotty. Getting my period (grrr) and have been munching biscuits all afternoon . I've been good with the exercise this week (3 sessions so far, plus aerobics tomorrow and circuit on saturday), but awful with food, and feeling fat and frumpy and in a really bad mood

I just want to lose this bloody baby belly! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Polly I found that with PMK too. As long as I listened to it, it worked. When I stopped, old habits started slipping back in. Keep listening to it.

Well, I enjoyed lots of Thai food last night. It was luuuverly. I was lured into a false sense of security as all my friends were commenting on how much weight I'd lost! I saw them in December and they were saying how much of a difference there was since then

Make-up-for-it day today. I still haven't been shopping so will need to try to get some more fruit and healthy food in!

Well, somehow I have managed to lose 1 lb which is a miracle considering the wine and biscuits the other night. All I can think is it's based solely on the exercise I've done.

I feel your pain MrsMattie. I want rid of my baby belly too.

I have put on a 1lb since last week
Need to get my arse into gear.

I am going to do all my measurements tomorrow and try and do some exercise every day next week and see if I can get back on track.

Yesterday I made cake and biscuits for the boys and for friends that I am visiting tomorrow... I have eaten too many of them so what a crap week with last weekends exploits. Will try and be good tomorrow evening to kick start a hopefully good week.

Well done to all those that have lost despite bad days.

Oh dear. I feel so rubbish. I've just eaten 6 chocolate biscuits.
I know its because my will power is weak due to lack of sleep (I went to bed at 1.30 and got up at 5.30 thanks to ds2)
This is a real problem for me and I don't really know how to tackle it.

Right from tomorrow I'm going to follow this

I basically do that anyway, I just need to stop snacking and do more exercise, I am useless at following a diet as I always substitute stuff for what they say, I can't help myself

I know what you mean Lisa, because I tend to do that too.
Obviously thats the reason that I'm not losing any weight so I thought that if I strictly followed a diet for a couple of weeks, I could lose a few lbs.
I'm ok for the breakfast and lunch options but I'm going to follow some of the dinner recipes and stick to only their suggested snacks.
Fingers crossed, I should be showing a loss for next week.
Think I'm going to write this week off again too

I've managed to lose another lb. hurray. And I can also tighten my belt by another 2 notches which is even better. It has been hard this week and I've only lost weight because of exercise. But tomorrrow is another day as they say. . .

This is bad, bad, bad. I've put on 2.5 pounds in the last few weeks. My will-power seems to have vanished. My excuses are a really bad cold (better now ), cold cold snowy weather leading to comfort eating, no exercise, feeling fed-up with work leading to more comfort eating etc.

Anyway, on the brighter side, I've got a week off work, the weather seems to be improving a little, and I'm going to try again. I'm thinking of joining WLR.

Congratulations to you all, the numbers on the scales are going down! How are you feeling now you've lost some weight? Hoping positive stories will encourage me.

Hope you're feeling more positive about yourself now MrsMattie. It's hard to be patient with yourself especially if your used to doing things very well and quickly. I think you need a bit of pampering. Maybe a slathering of body butter/nice moisturiser would make you feel spesh whilst waiting for the results you want?

That's great that your friends noticed and commented Wintersun. Makes it feel a lot more real. I'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one that Pmk worked that way for. There's not much to be done for lack of sleep, it's so easy to put on weight when that's the case, so it's brilliant that you're actually losing weight. Good luck with the bikini diet.

Lisa, keep going! This week is going to be so much better for you. Your exercising will make you feel great about yourself and go hand in hand with less snacking because you won't want to have done it all for nothing.

Tessieb, it happens. This week off will turn it around for you again. You'll be able to focus on what you need better, and not give into your old habits. I've noticed my jeans are loose. And i tried on some pre pregnancy trousers and could do them up - but still too snug to wear - but couldn't do that pre jan 1st. So in two weeks i want to be able to do them up properly. What differences do you want to see in two weeks time?

Ouch, feel really hungover today, will be a real struggle not to eat ALL day. We had a wedding yesterday and they served school dinner style mashed potato, peas and huge lovely pies with gravy. I ate like I've never seen food before. And drank too....I think I shall be doing the liz hurley soup thing till weigh in on wed to try and save face.

I have had another bad bad bad weekend.
weighed myself yesterday which is my main weigh in day and I have in fact put 2lb on since last week not 1lb then yesterday I too ate food like I was never going to again.
Lasagne, garlic bread, cheese nibbles, haribo tangfastic, mini flapjacks and too many profiteroles, not to mention 2 beers and 3 or 4 glasses of champagne. (can't quite remember)

I feel a complete pig and a failure and I have since gone on to eat two bacon rolls and some more mini flapjacks today am also knackered as I hardly slept last night due to ds2 throwing up all night whilst staying over at a friends house and I have pulled my shoulder

Just so at myself that I have no willpower and I am in danger of undoing all the good work over the last 6 weeks.

Right, tomorrow is another day, we have no visitors next weekend or any plans to put a spanner in the works, but we do have friends coming on the 27th Feb, 7th March (my B'day weekend) and I am away on the 21st and 28th March, so I realy can't see any weightloss then either I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel if I can't control my damn eating on an occassion, I only seem able to be good if I don't go anywhere or see anyone.

Sorry for being on such a downer, I always seem able to get down to 11st 2 but then never get any lower before going back up again
