I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

OP posts:
bananapaddlepop · 17/02/2009 15:01

good going Lisa. Which Davina do you do? I do the 30 mins one - love the pump and cardio box.

Feel sluggish today, probarly from my weekend over indulgence. Weing in tomorrow so not expecting much. My birthday on Sunday too, so will have to exercise hard both days to wear off Sat night and sunday eating. My DH finally returns for good from Abu Dhabi, I'm so looking forward to him being home.

Anyway, good luck ladies! Keep it up.

LisaLessLumpy · 17/02/2009 16:52

I have been doing the davina 3 30 min work outs but have just bought the High Energy Five DVD which I am going to try out tonight, I'll let you know what its like

Wintersun · 18/02/2009 08:23

Glad you're not leaving us mixedmama

Polly what a lovely image - you emerging like a butterfly from your winter coat! Very inspiring!
Dh and all my friends have been going on at me to dump my size 18 big saggy coat .
I keep waiting to get to a size 10 and then I'll buy a lovely coat but its taking so darned long! I didn/t want to waste money on 'inbetween' sizes. I shall buy a new jacket/coat for the spring.

I have been doing well this week. I've been at work so haven't done much exercise but am aiming to go to my aerobiking class this evening. I'm hoping to get back to 10st6 by the end of this week and then carry on from there.

I'm having yoghurt and satsuma/apple/banana for breakfast, soup for lunches all week and a very small portion of dinner. Snacking on fruit and juice.

The brighter weather is definitely helping.

Good luck everyone! keep thinking of lovely summer clothes. All those little t-shirts and slinky dresses

LisaLessLumpy · 18/02/2009 12:07

Morning ladies.

Well I didn't manage Davina last night I just couldn't be bothered, I did a few lunges and squats and 5 mins on my stepper instead

I have bought the PmK book though and I need to start listening to the CD but he does speak alot of sense and I have started doing the 4 golden rules so we'll see where I go with that

I feel so much better now I have got back on track and eating lots of fruit, salad and protein and minimal carbs and fat. Just need to get into the exercise now

PollyGarter · 18/02/2009 12:47

I'm loving the watercress soup again...

Hope you enjoy the Pmk Lisa!

Did you get to aerobiking Wintersun?

Glad for the reunion, banana!

Phew! for mixedmama!

...want to go out walking, but waiting for my blinkin mobile to turn up, anywhere between 9 and 6pm...

SilentTerror · 18/02/2009 18:55

Still not done any 'real' exercise, bar housework.
No alcohol since sunday though.
Today
porridge
banana
yoghurt
small muffin with jam
Apple
Small portion fish pie
Loads of water.

bananapaddlepop · 18/02/2009 19:46

Hello ladies,

Managed to shed another pound today at WW meeting. It's mostly down to exercise me thinks.

I'm exhausted today, no davina tonight. Had a funeral today which has wiped me out

Good luck everyone, keep it up.

xx

Well done banana! You're not far off a stone!

Polly, I was reading the posts quickly and wondered what the hell a bikini mobile was! Hope you got it.

I did make it to aerobiking. We had a stand in instructor and OMG she worked us hard! I sweated buckets and had wobbly legs when we were finished. She was hard but it was an excellent workout!

Have a good day tomorrow everyone!

PollyGarter · 19/02/2009 09:11

LOL at my bikini mobile...
And no... it didn't show up. They didn't ring the doorbell nor leave a calling card, although they left a note with their depot saying there was nowhere to put one!? Through the front door letterbox maybe? I wonder if seething burns calories?

3 hours sleep last night due to the pfb thinking that 3am constituted morning. So i'm low profile today, may make it to supermarket.

Great work banana!

Well done biking Wintersun! Wobbly legs make me giggle, especially if the whole class has them.

I've slipped on the water front.
So will concentrate on that today, and listen to that pmk fella.

have a great one!

countesscaloriecounter · 19/02/2009 13:58

Well Done Banana. You're doing really well.
Everyone else seems in good spirits and making a real effort.

I have a sore bum from the exercise bike, but I'm trying to even out any naughty foods I've eaten by exercising lots so I hope it shows when I weigh in tomorrow.

DH and lads back from Gibraltar this afternoon so my peace will be shattered. Ah well, all good things must come to an end I suppose.

countesscaloriecounter · 19/02/2009 14:01

Meant to add Polly how annoying about them not delivering your bikini mobile!

And glad you're not leaving us Mixedmama. I hope you didn't think I was suggesting you clear off to the SW thread! I was just trying to offer advice. Honest guv'nor.

bananapaddlepop · 19/02/2009 18:48

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone has had a good healthy day.

I went out for lunch with a friend today (just the local garden centre, nothing exciting) and our dc's. It's so bloody hard to find a heathly choice sandwich! Ended up with tuna and mayo....so no doubt blown points big time, but it's just hard missing out on some social gatherings due to diet.

Anyway, whinge over, shall attempt some Davina cardio burn tonight. DH finally back tomorrow so will able to get lots more exercising done on the weekends now. Yay.

Good luck for tomorrow everyone. x

tessieb · 19/02/2009 22:25

Hi everyone

Banana, Countess and Wintersun, you are so good with exercising. I've got out of the habit and really need to get back into it!

Polly, hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. Shame you missed your walk today, hope you manage to get out tomorrow. (By the way, loved the bikini mobile misunderstanding!)

Hope you've all had a good day. I've had a hungry day, don't know why, I've just felt really hungry. However, it's all logged in my food diary on WLR, though I've gone well over the calorie allowance for today.

Banana, I agree, it can be difficult combining social gatherings with dieting. I've had lunch out today, and I'm out for 2 meals this weekend! When I'm out I plan to enjoy myself (trying to make healthy, low cal choices as much as I can) and I'll try to eat very healthily the rest of the time.

Wintersun · 20/02/2009 08:28

Yesterday, I met up with a friends and had a pizza lunch. We did spend the rest of the day walking around shops (a good 4.5hrs without sitting down) and I didn't really have much dinner so hopefully it was n't too bad.
I will eat less today to make up for it.

Banana, I agree with you and tessieb too. I'll usually just enjoy a lunch/meal out and make up over the next day or so.
Remember that its what you eat over a week that makes a difference, not what you eat in a day.

Polly thats so annoying about your mobile. I've been bad with water too so will remember to up it today.

Tessie you must have needed some extra cals? I always lose weight when I exercise more as it seems to suppress my appetite. I don't know if it genuinely does or if its all those 'feel good' hormones that make me not feel like eating. Apparently all you need is 10mins a day to get those feelings.

food today

yoghurt, fruit
soup
apple
chickpea stew

Have a good day everyone. Its nearly spring! Those coats will have to be put away soon, ladies, lets do as Polly emerge like butterflies!

SilentTerror · 20/02/2009 08:40

Have actually lost 3lbs!
Am sure it is the no alcohol thing.
Unfortunately had 2 glasses of wine after particularly harrowing shift on NHS paediatric ward yesterday, but reasoned that as had been on my feet for 8 hrs I could stand it!

tessieb · 20/02/2009 09:55

Brilliant, Silentterror! 3lbs is fantastic.

Wintersun, you are right in saying it's what you eat over the week that makes a difference. We can't shut ourselves away and never socialise until we've lost the weight - that wouldn't work at all!!!!!

Have a good day everyone. Oh, my hungry day seems to have passed. Just had a normal breakfast and feel fine now!

countesscaloriecounter · 20/02/2009 10:19

Silentterror, what a great result. 3lbs is a fantastic loss.

I've managed to lose another 1lb taking the total to 12lb loss now. Also another inch has disappeared off my waist. It was pretty massive to start off with though!

Well done Countess and SilentTerror [clap] you are both doing really well.

I'm not weighing in this week, still done no exercise and now I have done my neck in again so daren't do any until it eases off. I do need to get back into it though, just can't seem to motivate myself once the kids are in bed

bananapaddlepop · 20/02/2009 14:01

Great work silent terror and countess! Well done... I was trying to work out the total loss of us all earlier, but then the maths got too hard for my bath maths brain. Must be a good amount though.

Feeling nice and positive today. Walked up from the train station to work instead of getting the tube which is a nice way to start the morning.

Anyway, good luck everyone for the weekend. Keep the momentum going.

xx

Countingthegreyhairs · 21/02/2009 14:44

Lisa - I am with you! I have put ON weight since I started in January but have lapsed since badly (usual excuses of dd being ill, I was ill, snow etc).

I weighed in this morning at 76.5 kg which is a fraction more than my start weight posted a while back on the list here

Sigh .... starting again "properly" on Wednesday this week (start of Lent) ....I've GOT to do better than this ..

I have started exercising (power walking) regularly again though and like you Wintersun, that does suppress my appetite so here's hoping ...

Hope your neck feels better soon Lisa and well done Silent Terror, Banana, Countess, Polly, Wintersun and everyone else.

The thought of summer clothes is bringing me out in a cold sweat - if that doesn't motivate me, nothing will ...

Countingthegreyhairs · 21/02/2009 14:45

oops sorry - that was meant to be a 'because' not a 'but' in the first sentence there

bananapaddlepop · 21/02/2009 14:47

well ladies, i think i'm going to have to love you and leave you...

I'm pregnant!!! (still totally in shock)Just did two tests and both positive.

I can't tell anyone in RL but I can do it here. It's just typical we tried so hard all last year and hardly gave it a thought this year and I re-focused on my health and it's happened.

Any good ideas on what dvds I can do to keep fit?

xxx

Countingthegreyhairs · 21/02/2009 18:44

Fantastic news BananaPaddlepop - many, many congratulations!!!

LisaLessLumpy · 21/02/2009 19:00

Many congratulations banana, excellent news

Davina does a pre/post pregnancy DVD which is good, I didn't use it till heavily pregnant though as it was very easy going. No reason you can't do any other DVD for a while though.

Well I wasn't going to weigh in today but I succumbed, wish I hadn't I have been angelic all week, not had more than 1150 calories (apart from one day of 1300) all week and I have lost absolutely nothing, still weighed in at 11st 5lb. I am so discouraged I could cry and as usual have eaten nothing but crap all day as just thought what the f**k

So will try and put it behind me again and try again this week. DH has said he will bring the cross trainer in from the barn into the playroom for me so that I can get on it during the day whilst the boys play, because at the moment by the time the kids have gone to bed I have no motivation to do anything. Also he has made a deal that I have to do at least 30 mins a day otherwise I have to have sex Also he said he will exercise whilst I do, so if I am on the XT he will do Davina and vice versa, bless him. Hopefully I can get things moving and once I am used to the exercise I will want to keep doing it.

So what is everyone giving up for Lent?
I am going to give up biscuits and chocolate and exercise lots.

I will do it, cutting back on food is obviously not working for me, I can't really go any lower, the only thing I can do is exercise now. What I want to know is though, why aren't I losing weight on 1200 calories or less?

countesscaloriecounter · 21/02/2009 19:27

Banana that's fantastic news. I'm really pleased for you.

Lisa I don't blame you for getting fed up with not losing any this week. How annoying for you when you've been so good as well! Don't get too disheartened though, as you might find you've lost more next week.

I pigged out last night. I was very with myself for doing it. I told you, I do this when I've had my weigh in and lost some. There is no sense to it, I just do it, then have to scramble for the rest of the week doing really well and exercising like mad to make up for it. Having said that though, I've hardly eaten today as I've been rushing around looking after the men in the house as they've all succumed to some sort of dreaded lurgy. And of course, they all have the luxury of lolling about in bed all day, being waited on hand and foot by me. I bet if I come down with it I won't see any of them for dust.
