Does anyone want to play? I'm 5'8, roughly 10 st 6lbs. Suspect possibly a couple of lbs more but refuse to get on the scales at night! Am at my best at about 9 st 7 lbs. Want to lose the weight by healthy sensible eating and plenty of exercise. Does anyone want to join in? Don't really want to crash anyone else's thread!

LOL Bearess! I look forward to tomorrow entry!
Night girlsw, chat to you after a lite brekkie!

Oh PS - I now weigh just over 10 stone and a few weeks back, well it might be more like a month and a bit, can't remeber I was just under 11 stone. Want to get to 9ish but slowly and happily with the odd chocie bar and curry etc.

Go GI it is great and so healthy. I'm down a stone and 5 pounds

Carla · 10/03/2005 07:04

Me please!!!! I need to lose my Alpen stone. I have very little left in my current packet, so could start tomorrow!

Reethi · 10/03/2005 07:56

I would love to join. 5ft 2, 9st 5lb, lost 4lb in last 2 weeks. Still nearly 2st over my pre pregnancy weight.

Bearess · 10/03/2005 10:38

happymerryberries, that is great - I am seriously impressed. I don't want to do GI though, I have heard it is excellent, but I am so contrary that as soon as I am given any kind of rule diet-wise I start craving what I'm not supposed to have Healthy eating and exercise have done the trick for me in the past so fingers crossed. So, takers so far are:
fairyfly, turquoise, Thomcat, nightowl, Carla (what on earth is an Alpen stone btw ?!) and Reethi. No rules - unless you want your own, just do what works for you. Starting tomorrow. I have a very good feeling about this!

fairyfly · 10/03/2005 10:49

I am weaning myself onto it slowly today, had cereal with seeds on for breakfast and will eat nothing but fruit now to try and shrink my stomach for preperation.

I have a good feeling about this too, which i never have!

ThomCat · 10/03/2005 10:50

Reethi, what's your goal weight then if you still have another 2 whole stone to loose, seems a lot, I'd live to weight only 9 stone!

So girls, how's the healthy eating going so far today?

Carla · 10/03/2005 10:53

Well, I'm almost through my last box of Alpen in preparation ......

My Alpen stone is the one that sits all over my body and comes of eating nothing but Alpen (the sweetened sort, and lots of it!) for the last 4/6 weeks.

loudmum · 10/03/2005 11:07

count me in to! I am 5'8" andI want to be 10 stone so just over 1 stone to lose.... am using Paul McKenna's CD which seems to be working really well... means I don't have to worry about special food and different meals to the kids... already lost a couple of pounds and turned down a Dime Bar last night during Desprate housewives... unheard off!!

saintshar · 10/03/2005 11:08

Can I join please?

I lost 51b over about the 5 Weeks or so - but I have got stuck. The last two Weeks I have stayed at the same weight. (At least I haven't put any on!)

I can feel myself slowly slipping back to bad habbits though, hopefully posting on here might keep me motivated.

I am not a believer in diets as such - just like eat healthier and exercise more to lose weight - I think that way it is easier to keep it off for longer.

Ok, up to now today I have had two slices of brown granary bread with jam on (no marg or butter,) a cup of tea with two sugars, (It hardly drink tea so I don't see much harm in having sugar once a day.) And a few crisps pinched out of DS2's packet.

It is these little things that I need to cut out.
Goals for today - drink lots of water and no picking!

Bearess · 10/03/2005 11:23

welcome to loudmum and saint shar. Tomorrow is kick-off day but have just had all-bran with skimmed milk & chopped banana - but also picked up a starbucks caramel macchiato after dropping ds off at nursery, I did ask for it skinny, only problem is the lashings of syrup! carla - I have to ask - why only alpen for the last few weeks?! tell me to bog off if you like but I am intrigued!

OP posts:
Carla · 10/03/2005 11:31

'Cos I discovered how YUM it was! Okay, I'm not being strictly truthful - I have occasionally slipped in the odd sliver of M&S Extra Fine Swiss Chocolate with Pecan and Caramel, just to balance my diet a bit ....

Bearess · 10/03/2005 11:32

That's Ok then, we all know the importance of a balanced diet!

OP posts:
Carla · 10/03/2005 11:38

Good, I knew you'd understand . Anyhow, I've eaten too much of it already to weigh myself now, but will do a weigh-in first thing tomorrow and report back here.

saintshar · 10/03/2005 11:50

Ok, well I will weigh myself today when I go into town, and report tomorrow what it is, and what my target is. I don't have scales at home because I would be weighing myself all the time and get paranoid about it.

So what's the plan - keep a diary on here of what we eat in a day, and have a weekly weigh-in?

I think the diary of food will be a good idea for me, as hopefully when I go to eat anything naughty, I will remeber that I have to post it in here and it will stop me!

Bearess · 10/03/2005 11:52

Yes saintshar, that's the plan of action, post daily food (IN FULL!) and weekly weigh-in.

OP posts:
saintshar · 10/03/2005 11:54

oh, no little white lies from me - not even a hint of exageration. I promise if you do!

pindy · 10/03/2005 12:26

Hi - I'm new to MN - can I join in aswell please? Want to lose about a stone.

Reethi · 10/03/2005 12:33

Thomcat - my ultimate goal weight is 7.7 but I am only 5ft 2in so it is not as bad as it sounds.

I put on stacks of weight when I was pregnant, when I came home from hospital after having ds (7months old) I actually weighed more than the day I went in!? I have no idea why. I am going to be a bridesmaid in August and the dress is a right little skimpy number, I can't even get it over my head at the moment! Actually, as anyone had any embrassing stuck in clothes moments? I got stuck once in a dress in Karen Millen in Covent Garden, it was supposed to be my size (honestly!) but I could not pull it down over my boobs and I could not get it back over my head either so I had to rip it, I was then so scared that that they would notice that I left the shop in such a rush that I ended up leaving my bag in the changing room so had to end up facing them after all.

turquoise · 10/03/2005 12:36

Morning all. I'm 5 hours behind you lot so just had breakfast - porridge with skim milk and no sugar, bleurrrrgh. On 2nd cup of coffee.
I want to be about 9 stone, think I'm about 10 (will weigh tomorrow) and will be cutting out wheat as far as poss, trying to cut out processed food, additives and sugar, and (this is the hard bit) no alcohol.
I'm also going to try Joan Collins tip of wearing tight clothes (too uncomfy to stuff yourself) and loads of slap so you feel better and are more motivated to keep trying.

Also if anyone has any good exercise tips (esp for thighs) that involve no strain on the neck, please could they pass them on?

Bearess · 10/03/2005 12:38

Hello pindy!

OP posts:
turquoise · 10/03/2005 12:40

Reethi, I know the feeling. Once got stuck in a pair of thigh boots I was trying on, and thought the assistant was going to have to cut them off me. Very embarassing.
