Is there room for a fat old bird on here?

Am a WW lifer - lose 3/4 stone, then get fed up, fall at first blip and clear the fridge. All back on again. The programme works, its me that doesnt. I am trying to do Core plan, as easy to stick to, but what about packed lunches with no bread?

Have been reading the other thread, hope alright for me to tag on.

Fimbles5 · 29/09/2008 21:34

Welcome Apollinare - Cause you can join us, you are more than welcome. I am the same join weight watchers, lose the weight, get fed up (hopefully my leader didn't hear that, as she cannot understand how you can get bored with WW), and then pile it all on again. Its a vicious cicle isn't it, although I am sure you know that already. Thing is, with this thread everyone understands that we all blip at some point and we just encourage and support each other to pick ourselves up and start each day as if it was the first. I eat melba toasts for my lunch instead of bread, you can have a whole packet of 6 for 1 point. I usually have them with either a WW cup a soup of with some philadelphia light which then totals 2.5pts (add lots of cucumber and sliced tomatoes). Good Luck.

Hi everyone. Welcome Apollinare. I feel the same. I was really good at loosing but now I'm good at gaining - I do get fed up with thinking what to eat next and I get fed up even with healthy things so i'm on bicuits and brioshe rolls (don't remember how to spell the word but I wish I've never tasted them as I love them soooooo much). Anyway, I had soup and I had chicken as well (in different times) so I'm not always bad although I get into that stage easily. I always think that the next day I'll definately be good but the next day comes and here i am - well, my excuse today was that after Sunday it was hard to get back to the ruitine so I needed a treat. No doubt there will be another excuse tomorrow but may be I will try harder. Who is going to join me to try harder?

kidsrus · 01/10/2008 22:23

hello i found you all i have just started doing the diet in nov prima but tweeking it a bit as i try to avoid bread due to a yeast intolerance.
i have completed day 3 so far and have never ate so much (keep wondering if its an april fool in nov)
my dh & i are enjoying the variety dc are grumbling but like the pasta.
hope you are all keeping well and still on target.
welcome apponaire its great to have lots of support.

Apollinare · 02/10/2008 20:59

Thanks for warm welcome - have been doing loads of walking this week up and down hills, so hopefully will show on the scales. But weather just AWFUL here today, my DH cooked bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes for tea, perfect and totally non fattening because I didnt have fried bread! Oh yes, a couple of sausages hmmm. If I hadnt been reading this thread this evening I would have thought 'sod it' and had a piece of cake to finish.

kidsrus · 02/10/2008 21:17

well done you appollo on avoiding the cake.
i have a cupboard of snacks just in case i can't help it.
it contains pink and whites, gfy popcorn, snack a jacks, ryveta minis, small milky ways, and small bars of 70% cocoa chocolate.
water and fruit is also a very good standby.
so far so good haven't needed any.
my big sin today was a jd and coke but after the day i had you would agree i deserved that 1.
how was your day?

fedda · 02/10/2008 22:43

Too much bread and biscuits with cups of sugared coffees, sausages - so a lot of wrong stuff. I had baked potato, butter with baked beans and grated cheese. Anyway, hopefully will be better tomorrow as it's fish. I think my will power is resting

Fimbles5 · 03/10/2008 07:52

kidsrus - You made me smile!! Panicking that you wouldn't find us. I was exactly the same when I realised I couldn't post anymore on the old thread. I took ages to come up with a title so that it would jump out and haul you all back in!!! Well now hopefully we've all found each other again, and the willpower will come out of hiding too. I'm having a pretty bad time of it at the moment healthwise (feeling generally run down, tired, had a chest infection and have lost count of how many colds in the last month!!), so have not really been tracking what I eat, so was absolutely amazed today to find out I have maintained my weight, so not too bad after all. I have decided that I must eat healthier to avoid all these bugs which I have been getting, so I promise I will be back on track today. Fingers crossed.

Have just got my WW scales out of the cupboard to weigh cereal - after months.
Sigh - such a big bowl, so little in it, obviously my guestimation techniques have gone a bit awray.

kidsrus · 05/10/2008 17:10

appolinaire have you tried using a smaller bowl it makes the portions look much bigger
oh dear fimbles hope you feel better soon((((((((hugs)))))))) we will get you back on track.
i think we have been trying to eat too little of the good things and too much of the lo cal stuff that we have all been suffering, which is why i thought i would try and follow a set menu by a diet-trician and see if it made a difference.
all was good until sat went away for the weekend and had a few bars of choc and not enough fruit & veg.
keeping my fingers crossed i haven't done too much harm.
fedda the baked potato and beans was good for you. don't worry about the past lets look to the future and our new svelt like figures.

fedda · 05/10/2008 17:12

Thank you, kidrus. I'll start tomorrow as today I was having some wrong stuff (don't ask!) Oh, dear, anyway, tomorrow I must be good.

kidsrus · 05/10/2008 17:12

we could always ply everyone with alcohol! lol!

fedda · 05/10/2008 17:15

I couldn't hear anything but what they showed was really impressive. If only I could become so slim and so beautiful!

kidsrus · 05/10/2008 17:19

we are all beautiful in our own ways!

fedda · 06/10/2008 11:02

I like that!

Fimbles5 · 09/10/2008 07:57

Nope!! Still searching - Cannot seem to find where I am beautiful in my own way Don't think thunder thighs and flabby tummy make you beautiful so it must be something else I have, somebody help me out. Really struggling and need someone to kick me up this oversized butt! Where is my motivation? How is everyone else??

fedda · 09/10/2008 19:50

Ny will power was sleeping but I was hoping that after a good quality sleep it would wake up but it simply woke up and walked away! Biscuits, cookies, coffees with 2 sugars each and jam sandwiches are freequent guests which reolaced my will power. Did anybody see my will power walking about? If the answer is yes, could you tell it that I need it back! PLEASE!

Fimbles5 · 09/10/2008 22:05

Glad I am not the only one Fedda - So how do you suggest we get back on track?? Its less than twelve weeks til Christmas, and we need to get slim for that new party outfit.

OP posts:
fedda · 09/10/2008 22:12

Well, it makes all the difference to have a company. If I can't be bothered to get slimmer myself I need to do it as I feel it might help you - and you need to do it as it might help me. Helping each other is nice. let's do it, Fimbles! I know you can and you probably think I can so let's do it! Now, how? We have done it in the past and it worked, it's good, it's healthy and it works: soups, salads, walking and forgetting about the NAUGTY BISCUITS, CAKES, CRISPS and other things. What do you think? Shall we try? people say you have nothing to loose, well, we have something we could loose so I'm ready if you are. or may be i just start anyway. it would be nice to do it together though so please let me know what you think

Fimbles5 · 10/10/2008 07:16

I agree Fedda, We have been here together for over a year now and we have done it before. I remember a time when we were both posting positive notes and feeling great about ourselves. So TODAY is the day - I will check in tonight to see how you have done, but I promise that as of now, I am aiming for a biscuit, cake, crisp and chocolate free day!! We can do this together. Will be thinking of you, and as you reach for that jam and those cookies I would like you to think of me and put them BACK in the cupboard. Good Luck X

fedda · 10/10/2008 10:20

Thank you, Fimbles. So far I had hot water when I got up and later - two pieces of cheeses. I'm going to have a wholemeal cheeses sandwich with tea (1 sugar) for my lunch and fish with vegies and home made fries for dinner. i'm going to avoid biscuits, cakes and crisps. What are you having today, Fimbles. Who is there with us? the more the merrier.

kidsrus · 11/10/2008 00:20

im still here but let myself down this week tried hard but but the crap jumped out of the cupboard into my mouth and my hands were tied!
well the veg box arrived today and i think i will be eating cabbage soup for the month.
i have 1/5 cabbage from a month ago 1 cabbage from 2 weks ago and 2 cabbages from today.
also plums/tart,crumble,baked,stewed,with custard and any other way i can think of along with orange juice.
hoping next week isn't quite so manic for me.
good luck all you losers out there!

Apollinare · 11/10/2008 20:08

Sorry not been back, have had a difficult week with DH ill, so climbed inside a coffee cake. I think my head is back in the thin place now.

fedda · 13/10/2008 15:53

I had a bad attitude towrds good food so I had apple crossonants and walnut pastries and my tummy is back to its baloon stage. I'll try harder [sceptical]

Fimbles5 · 13/10/2008 20:46

Oh Fedda - What are we going to do?? I made you all those promises and look where I am today. Once again I have stuffed myself silly with crisps and biscuits and like you my tummy is rapidly expanding. I am so struggling with this, Why is something that you desperately want to do (lose weight!!) so difficult to achieve. I am at a loss for words, but I am still here if you would like to chat and sending hugs. P.s. I bet the pastry was good though wasn't it
