Hello Everyone, Happy June 🤩

Here is our monthly thread for recording your daily steps, and having a chat along the way. Everyone is welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

May was a bit of a flop for me, as I was away and out of routine.
I know for others, with the UK heatwave it was a tricky one some days!
Now I am ready and raring to go for June, and I am hoping to hit the 10k every single day!

As always this thread has been very motivational and encouraging so please join in, and lets get those steps in 😁

Yay!
Thanks @10kstepsaday .
Welcome back from your trip. Hope you had a good time. I am also raring to go for June. It will be challenging, some changes coming in with work life.

We got back from holiday yester-evening. Without planning it, everyone is just having a really chilled day and have retired to their own corners. I am loving it.
I planned on going out for a walk, not sure if that will happen... my motivation seems to have been the one to go out for the walk instead. So i am the treadmill for 30mins, get some steps in and bring back my motivation.

10kstepsaday · 31/05/2026 17:23

We got this @Onegramatatime !! 💪
Hope you also had a lovely holiday!

Thanks for the new thread! 13300 today

SilenceInside · 01/06/2026 11:01

Thanks for the new June thread @10kstepsaday

May was also a bit tricky for me, with too many days where I didn’t hit the 10k. Consistency is definitely the thing I’m going to be focussing on in June.

10kstepsaday · 01/06/2026 15:45

Well Done @Clearingaspace
Consistency is definitely the way forward @SilenceInside

I am at 8k so far today, which is pretty good considering I spent far longer sat at my work desk than I intended. I'm not actually working today but decided to tackle the accumulated emails. Then went for a 20 minute walk @ lunchtime.
I may try to go for another short walk after dinner with the kids to tire them out before bedtime.

Hi there is it ok to join in? I could do with motivation and accountability tbh 😊

did 21k steps yesterday because I was away and am on 6.8k so far today.

10kstepsaday · 01/06/2026 16:21

Of course, welcome along @WorthySloth
21k is awesome! I think the most I have done in a day is 16k or thereabouts.

Tbf @10kstepsadaywe were away in Birmingham and we stay at a Travelodge a little way out of town because it’s usually cheaper and it has parking at a good rate as well. Means a 20/30 minute walk into town which helps. Plus we went to an album launch so some dancing then went to a venue in digbeth so lots of walking. Hopefully counteracts the amount of alcohol consumed 🤣🤣

WorthySloth · 01/06/2026 21:09

Managed to hit 10k by stomping around the living room 😊 working tomorrow. I’ll either do tonnes of steps or hardly any. Who knows. I’ll try to do some in the morning before work.

minnymoobear · 01/06/2026 21:18

Hi gang :) enjoyed the May updates and made a great start on getting my steps up so I’m working on consistency again this month.

Only did 5.5k steps today but did close all my apple watch rings as went cycling and did an aerobics class. Am shattered but may try to get on walking pad to get closer to 10k steps

so glad the weather has cooled down from last weeks heatwave - that totally threw me off track!

Joolly2 · 01/06/2026 21:34

Hello, I've found you all.
I have just posted on the old thread to finish May off.

10kstepsaday · 01/06/2026 21:42

That sounds like a lovely time away! @WorthySloth
Well Done on the 10k today, I will also be working and sat at my desk all day tomorrow - booo!!

Hello Again 🙂 @minnymoobear
Wow cycling and aerobics - I am impressed. No wonder you're shattered!!

Hey @Joolly2
Glad to see you joining us again 🤗

I have started off June strong, and finishing the day at 14,793 steps.
I took the kids for the after dinner walk, and they had a great time on their bikes.

Hope you've all had wonderful Mondays!

Hi all and welcome @WorthySloth!

I am at 10,500 today - won’t aim for more, but I did also do a 15 min full body weights workout (took me 30 mins though as kept pausing to log stuff in an app). Should be quicker next time though!

WorthySloth · 02/06/2026 21:09

Ended the day at 7.5k as I spent most of the day in a car for work. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

10kstepsaday · 02/06/2026 22:02

Well Done @Clearingaspace and for your weights workout too!
I also did a strength workout today (upper body) - feeling strong! 💪

Well Done @WorthySloth 7.5k is very good when most of the day was in a car!

I am finishing today at 10,690. WFH at the desk day but did get out for a lunchtime walk. Happy with that 🙂

OP posts:
Clearingaspace · 02/06/2026 22:22

Well done on workout and steps @10kstepsaday and so great to be feeling strong!

@WorthySloth 7.5 k is very respectable, thats roughly where the health benefits of increased steps peak apparently

I have done 18704 so far today but no workout. That is the highest step count I have had in a long time!

WorthySloth · 02/06/2026 22:55

I did some walking on the spot this morning before I left home and I walked back via the supermarket. I do 12 hour shifts so not a lot of spare time on work days.

JulietteHasAGun · 02/06/2026 23:03

I’d love to join, I was saying I need to up my steps. Was reading about someone who did 20k a day and was losing 8lbs a month!

so I’m only on 9300 today but I ve done a spin class too. Think my daily average for this year so far is 9,700. I need to get it to over 10,000.

Joolly2 · 02/06/2026 23:54

Evening all, just made it to 10k, did have to do a few laps of the house to get over the line. Sorry for the angle of the photo, too tired to take another.

Onegramatatime · 03/06/2026 07:07

Morning all.

Sunday steps -13767
Monday steps - 17467
Yesterday steps - 12102

This contains some topics from the last thread but want to mention here as we have moved home.

@Joolly2 & @minnymoobear , yes, I enjoy the camaraderie and supportive nature of this group too. Very encouraging and also made me smile/laugh a few times.

Welcome @WorthySloth .

@Joolly2 , thanks. Glad your leg is better. So true, re: life and mood dips. I am trying to not let it become prolonged. It's tough especially when getting out of that dip is totally not how you are feeling.

I am not on any social media (i thought) but i find it intriguing - how it influences people, makes market trend, can occupy people's attention for hours etc.
I was surprised to learn whatsapp and mumsnet are social media! I saw whatsapp as a means of communication like making a call or texting. And mumsnet as a community forum (they have been a round for ages!)
I thought of social media as TikTok, Instagram, Twitter. Shows you my thinking. Waaaaay beyond dinosauring!😁

Just to say, i eventually finished reading 'Butter by Asako Yuzuki'. It took me quite some time. It lost a bit of meaning for me in the last quarter of the book. I will read one of the books we had mentioned before.
I have a lot of sitting around errands to do today and none are walking distance ... I would not get to 10K steps today. Have a good day everyone.

WorthySloth · 03/06/2026 21:29

Work day today and did 7100 steps.

have decided to track my steps over the week because work days can be unpredictable. I’m going to aim for 70k a week as a minimum.

I will try and up my steps on work days - sometimes I’ll do absolutely loads depending on which client I’m with other days I really don’t. And with a 12 hour day that is mentally very challenging and draining I often don’t feel up to adding more to it.

but I only work 3 days a week so I need to up my game on my days off. I will aim for consistency and not beat myself up on days when I don’t hit target.

minnymoobear · 03/06/2026 21:58

Hi all

awful start to June , most of it in bed yesterday so glad I got any steps in around the house!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Well Done on 18k!! @Clearingaspace That's so awesome!

Welcome @JulietteHasAGun you are super closer to average 10k anyway, you will easily smash it!!

@Onegramatatime I am the same as you re: social media, I don't think of whatsapp or mumsnet as being part of it. I basically deleted anything off my phone that I can sit and scroll on. I now only really use it for whatsapp and duo lingo 😅Also well done on finishing your book. I just finished "Of Human Bondage" which I really loved, has anyone else read this? It was a slow burner, and I so nearly gave up when I was 7% through the book (its a long book) but by 10% I decided I wanted to continue, and now I am finished I really miss it!

Well Done @WorthySloth that is a sensible plan 😊
What is your job role if you dont mind me asking? 12 hr shifts are loooong!!

Well Done @minnymoobear you can still catch up!
Hope you are ok!

Today I am finishing at 10, 867. No outdoor walk but was on site so able to hit the 10k fairly easily. WFH for the next 2 days so hoping to get out for a couple of longer walks.

OP posts:
JulietteHasAGun · 03/06/2026 22:56

Hit 11,200 today. 😁. Dog walk and then Walked for a gp appointment….id normally take the car but really wanted to make sure I hit 10k.

Joolly2 · 03/06/2026 23:15

My total for today is 11,588.
Some of you are hitting really good totals well done.
@minnymoobear so pleased you have been mobile today and achieved a great total.
@10kstepsaday I am not reading anything at the moment, I'm forcing myself to take a break. 😮‍💨 I was reading 4 books a week and nothing was getting done. However that doesn't stop me collecting books ready for when I start reading again. I don't know " Of Human Bondage" I may check it.
