Hello Everyone, Happy June 🤩

Here is our monthly thread for recording your daily steps, and having a chat along the way. Everyone is welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

May was a bit of a flop for me, as I was away and out of routine.
I know for others, with the UK heatwave it was a tricky one some days!
Now I am ready and raring to go for June, and I am hoping to hit the 10k every single day!

As always this thread has been very motivational and encouraging so please join in, and lets get those steps in 😁

13,509 steps today.

@10kstepsaday , a slow sunday with slow stretchy yoga sounds lovely.

@Clearingaspace , i did get some cleaning done today eventually!! Once i start cleaning, i love it. It's getting started that's the problem. When i do 10k steps/day consistently in combination with calorie counting, exercising and +/- intermittent fasting - i do lose weight. It does take a few weeks to kick in, though. The difference with my steps consistently above 16k, is, it takes me a shorter time to get to my target weight. But i feel this only works because of very strict calorie counting.

Joolly2 · 15/06/2026 00:06

Good evening all.
Managed an hour of pilates this morning. My total step count is 10,786. I've also spent 3 hours weeding in the garden. I think I may be a bit stiff tomorrow.
@Onegramatatime "knees moaning ", that's exactly what they do, attention seeking little b's. I do my best to ignore them.

10kstepsaday · 15/06/2026 21:40

Finishing today at 10, 255.
More Yoga today! But thats it now until the weekend (or maybe Friday).
Followed by a chilled afternoon and friends visiting this evening.

Back to work tomorrow, and I have an all-day meeting so lots of sitting around and 2 hours driving to and from the meeting. My POA is lots of steps first thing, go for a short walk during the breaks/lunchtime and if I cannnnn go for an evening walk once home and kids are asleep. Lets see how we go.

Well done on the gardening and cleaning guys! Boosting your NEAT 😁

7045 steps today. Better than expected as I have spent all day in the car and now I’m doing a sleep in.

4 days off after 7am 🤣🤣 Wednesday will probably be a write off as I am having my coil removed so am anticipating feeling very sore and sorry for myself afterwards.

Clearingaspace · 15/06/2026 22:32

Enjoy your time off @WorthySloth and hope coil goes ok

sounds a lovely day @10kstepsaday fingers crossed you get your evening walk?

wow 3 hours gardening on top of 10k steps is impressive @Joolly2

@Onegramatatime i am also in a calorie counting phase! I spend all my tv time watching YouTube videos about walking extra steps or volume eating etc 😂 bit sad but it keeps me sane n track for now

I am off too at the moment so should be able to get in some extra steps and have some nice relaxing hot baths to soothe the cranky knees and ankles!

13954 today

Clearingaspace · 15/06/2026 22:34

Sorry ‘sane n’ should be ‘on’ … autocorrect!

Joolly2 · 16/06/2026 09:47

@10kstepsaday I admire your dedication to getting steps. A day of meetings and driving would be a brilliant excuse for me not getting steps. I lack a bit of self discipline.😀
@WorthySloth hope all goes well for your procedure, have a little treat lined up for afterwards.
@Clearingaspace gardening wasn't very impressive, I was sitting down for most of it weeding. Sadly it's hardly touched the side of what needs doing. Enjoy your hot baths.
My total for yesterday was 10,748.

10kstepsaday · 16/06/2026 22:43

Hope the coil removal goes ok @WorthySloth anyone with a coil is very brave to me - I am too squeamish at the thought of it!😂

No evening walk 🙁@Clearingaspace
Lol my dedication went awry @Joolly2
My POA did NOT go to plan! Travelling was so long, the meeting was soooo long I was getting so fed up of sitting in one place, only 1 quick break in the middle of the day. Got home so late.
My steps have been atrocious today! I am finishing @ 3493.
The intention was there....

Tomorrow will be going for a huge lunch time walk and doing a morning workout of some kind.

Well done everyone for all your efforts!

WorthySloth · 16/06/2026 23:02

Ashamed to say I have done 4616 steps today. I’ve not done half the things I intended to 🤦‍♀️

probably won’t hit my target for this week tbh but I’ll see how it goes.

Joolly2 · 16/06/2026 23:14

More bloody weeding again today.😬 they are growing quicker than I can pull them up.
Finished the day on 10,828 steps.
@10kstepsaday life just gets in the way sometimes.
@WorthySloth nothing to be ashamed about.
@Clearingaspace I am also youtubing, watching all the bat wings be gone videos. My shiny new weights have seen some action. 😄

10kstepsaday · 17/06/2026 21:19

@WorthySloth hope you are ok! you got this!!
@Joolly2 it sure does!

I definitely made up for yesterday today - finishing at 17, 442.
The most I have done all month! I did a 20 minute cardio workout this morning on youtube and that had loads of steps incorporated. Then I spent my lunch hour going for a huge walk, it was lovely in the sunshine but was very hot when I got home. Very tired now!

OP posts:
Clearingaspace · 17/06/2026 22:57

Well done @10kstepsaday hope you can have a well earned rest now!

Fingers crossed for the rest of the week @WorthySloth

@Joolly2 batwings be gone videos 😂 - really don’t worry about your arms, I am sure they are great as they are, but adding weights can only be a good thing so you might be happy your dgc made his likely very incorrect comment eventually 💪

12727 yesterday. Only on 7500 so far today, Also went for a swim. But I had no smart watch on at all and I feel sure I must have been close if not to over 10k! Dh has been testing me by asking me how many steps do you think we just walked and I am pretty much on the money usually!

Joolly2 · 17/06/2026 23:18

@10kstepsaday cardio plus a really good step total. My hero!
@Clearingaspace my grandson is autistic and brutally honest. I was just in denial. 😀 I'm going to give it 3 months and see if there is any difference, if not the weights may disappear.
10,056 steps today.

Onegramatatime · 18/06/2026 06:24

17k steps @10kstepsaday . That's fantabulous. Great catch up.

'Batwings be gone' 😁. They better be gone. There is a reason we work to make sure we are hitting 10K steps minimum a day. @Joolly2 , i am betting on your new weights, for batwings vs new weights. You have got this. The gardening and weeding definitely helps.

@WorthySloth , how did it go? I trust your procedure was alright. There is no shame in not hitting 10k steps. We are only human, there are lots of things we can't control. Steps-wise, you are great at catching-up. Do not force it, if you are not up to it. Sometimes our body needs rest.

I find that with rest (though i don't usually like it. I feel like i am failing), my body has a good recovery and i feel stronger afterwards.

@Clearingaspace , it's interesting isn't it. Once you get used to counting steps you start to have a fairly good idea of where you are steps wise.

My steps:
Monday - 11,651 + 25 mins core & legs workout
Tuesday- 14,525
Yesterday- 14,248 + 30 mins strength training

I am finding being back at work is really tiring me out and i am not as good at juggling everything as I used to be - housework, kids & all their constantly changing stuff, work, errands/admin, my health (keeping healthy), my family (parent & siblings), friends (& their stuff) etc.
While i was off-sick, it seemed I suddenly had space & time. Now, i am back to work, everyone seems to take it that 'yay! back to normality and I am getting a sudden influx of A LOT of stuff'.
I think I just need time, i will get back in to the swing of things.

Have a lovely day, everyone.

WorthySloth · 18/06/2026 08:50

5933 yesterday. Not going to hit target this week I don’t think but I’ll see if I can improve on my daily steps for the rest of the week.

well done everyone for hitting target!

10kstepsaday · 18/06/2026 21:59

Well done everyone 😃
Finishing today on 10, 956
2 lovely short walks outside today, 1 at lunch with DH both WFH
1 before dinner with the kids. They asked me to go, which surprised me!!

WorthySloth · 18/06/2026 23:36

7375 today. Ended up in work for an extra sleep in. Have a walk planned for tomorrow tho so 🤞 I’ll boost my total a bit

Joolly2 · 19/06/2026 18:59

I thought I posted yesterday but obviously not. Total was11,397 which makes up for today's miserable 5,951 steps.
I moaned when it was raining and now I'm moaning because it's too hot. I just can't walk around in this heat. I need to move somewhere cooler - Norway/Finland, anyone want to come with me?

Clearingaspace · 19/06/2026 19:21

7000 is decent @WorthySloth

I’ll come @Joolly2 but then again I might start moaning about snow so maybe not!

very sweet thst your dc went on your walk @10kstepsaday

Well done on steps @Onegramatatime - that sounds very tough that everyone expects you to be business as usual exactly when you have more demands on you with return to work Flowers

15637 yesterday, currently 8500 but might go for a walk after dinner

WorthySloth · 19/06/2026 21:39

10526 today. Started well and then I ended up with a bit of driving then I just sort of settled. Just got everything ready for work tomorrow. Let’s see how that goes

10kstepsaday · 19/06/2026 22:37

Hope everyone is coping OK in the heat today!! Scorchio!

I am finishing today on 9443, which I could get up and round up to 10k but.... that will do for today. Too hot!! Norway/Finland sounds awesome @Joolly2 I'm in!! 😆

OP posts:
Onegramatatime · 19/06/2026 22:48

Steps on Thursday - 19,298
Steps today - 13,059

@10kstepsaday , really lovely your DC asked to go on a walk with you.

@Joolly2 , I am with you! Both are great choices.

@Clearingaspace , did you get your walk in after dinner? Trust you had a good day.

I finished reading 'Lessons in Chemistry' a couple of days ago. I could have finished earlier but purposely avoided reading it because I didn't want it to end.
I am now reading 'Where the Crawdads Sing'. It's a bit slow in the beginning but I am trusting that it is a good read.

Joolly2 · 21/06/2026 00:01

Evening all, so happy today. It's been hot again BUT there has been a lovely cool breeze, makes the heat so much more bearable. Managed a nice walk this morning and gardening this afternoon. 12,375 steps.
Looks like we will have enough people to charter a small plane for our trip to Norway/Finland. 😁 may have to give this serious consideration if we get the predicted temperatures next week.
@Onegramatatime so glad you enjoyed "Lessons in Chemistry" hope you get into "Crawdads" I loved the language, it was so descriptive I could really visualise the scenes. I saw that the film was on recently. I make a point of not watching films of books I've read. I find them so disappointing, they don't match the images in my head.

Onegramatatime · 21/06/2026 00:32

10850 steps today.

@Joolly2 , i am same re:books and their movies.
Also, if there is a movie, and i learn that it is based on a novel or it is the film version of a book, i decide not to watch the movie. I will read the book.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Jolly2, thanks for the heads up re: chartering our own plane. To be fore-warned is to be 'prepared' (the saying has been amended to use for this special situation 😁).

Clearingaspace · 21/06/2026 21:49

Hello all. @Joolly2 so nice thst you could enjoy the sun with a breeze. Save me a seat on the plane 😆

@Onegramatatime i ended up just having a relaxing bath instead and settled for low steps.

My average for the last 7 days was over 11k for the week, but I think I would be delighted with 10k average in the week ahead. The weather was so heavy here, lots of flying ants so I did a morning walk and later ended up doing a YouTube walking video - get fit with Rick - in my dining room with a fan on. It was supposed to be 5000 steps but logged as 2800. It was enough though, and am now at 11713 today.

hope all well
