Hello Everyone, Happy June 🤩

Here is our monthly thread for recording your daily steps, and having a chat along the way. Everyone is welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

May was a bit of a flop for me, as I was away and out of routine.
I know for others, with the UK heatwave it was a tricky one some days!
Now I am ready and raring to go for June, and I am hoping to hit the 10k every single day!

As always this thread has been very motivational and encouraging so please join in, and lets get those steps in 😁

@10kstepsaday I'm totally fed up with the weather. It's rained all day here. I"m also pacing the house to get the steps in at the moment.

10,420 today.

Clearingaspace · 11/06/2026 21:48

Well done everyone ⭐️

I have dropped my plans for calf raises etc for now aa it irritated my dodgy ankle 😬

Currently at 13645

Joolly2 · 11/06/2026 22:25

This weather is driving me mad. The dog refuses to go out in it. Only managed one very short walk today so my total is 5,994. This has to be one of my lowest totals 😭. Never mind tomorrow is another day.
@Onegramatatime I loved the quirky nature of Lessons in Chemistry, the character Calvin was so well observed, his autism was portrayed so well. I know someone very like him. The story didn't go in the direction I expected.
Well done everyone some great totals being recorded. Nearly the weekend.

Onegramatatime · 12/06/2026 02:28

Steps today (well, yesterday Thursday) 10,678.

Yes, really enjoying 'Lessons in Chemistry'. I still have 2/3rds of the book left to read but I am already worrying that eventually I would finish reading the book and the story will finish! (😂I know i am odd). So far my fave character is six-thirty.

Clearingaspace · 12/06/2026 09:50

Totally agree on the weather - it was briefly perfect for a couple of days!

10kstepsaday · 12/06/2026 22:28

Hello All! Finishing today at 12, 418.
Thats the most I have done all month!

Ahhh I want to read Lessons again now! soooo good!

Whats everyone upto this weekend? I am heading to some Yoga classes and have some family visiting.

@Onegramatatime I feel exactly the same when I am nearing the end of a good book. I really don't want it to end.
@10kstepsaday I have a free weekend, so I'm free as a bird! If the weather is fine there is a lot to do in the garden, my happy place. I may also be able to catch up on some missing steps.
@Clearingaspace hope your ankle is feeling better.
Today I've just managed 10,036.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Clearingaspace · 12/06/2026 23:11

Thanks @Joolly2 the ankle thing is weird as I seem to have no problem walking really. It’s mainly going upstairs thats an issue now.

enjoy your yoga and family visits @10kstepsaday; nothing too exciting planned here but would be great if I could muster myself to do some cleaning! Did a lovely evening walk this evening though.

11415 steps today

Onegramatatime · 13/06/2026 04:53

13,485 steps for yesterday (Friday).

This weekend, I have two priorities - clean the house and do some really necessary coaching/teaching with one of DC. Both, quite important. Both, i am not looking forward to. 😄
Hopefully, i make it through. Sunday evening will tell.

WorthySloth · 13/06/2026 07:38

5687 yesterday although I did get a little bit of swimming in as well. Need to do 27k over the weekend to hit target… it’s definitely possible.

10kstepsaday · 13/06/2026 08:03

Enjoy your gardening @Joolly2
We inherited a lovely mature garden when we moved house - however I am such a novice when it comes to gardening. I need to get my Monty Don on!

Have lovely weekends @Clearingaspace and @Onegramatatime

You definitely can do it @WorthySloth
We are cheering you on!

I’m on over 8k already. Still got my afternoon/evening walk and dancing to go

Yay!!! You will hit over 10K and you will be halfway or over halfway to getting your 27K steps.

Now i just need to get up off the sofa and follow @WorthySloth 's good example. I am only 6K steps in today.

I was meant to be cleaning the house. I put on some netflix to provide some background noise (don't like too much quiet), i clicked on the first thing but found myself getting interested in what i was hearing. I became distracted by 'Office Romance' and things fell apart from there !

JulietteHasAGun · 13/06/2026 19:21

I’ve gone over 10k every day this week so far. Am doing a 5 mile walk tomorrow so should hit 10k again.

10kstepsaday · 13/06/2026 19:56

Well done @WorthySloth and @JulietteHasAGun

Haha @Onegramatatime that would be me too I love a bit of Netflix.

I am currently on 8990 and trying to find motivation to get to the 10k.
I am so tired today, and my yoga class was really hard!

21869 today. Decent walk with lots of pub stops 🤣🤣 then lots of dancing with friends. Good day today.

Joolly2 · 13/06/2026 23:49

Excellent total @WorthySloth also sounds lots of fun.

@JulietteHasAGun great consistency.

@10kstepsaday i wish my plants grew as quick as the weeds. My garden was a field when I moved in 36 years ago. Not much has changed. 😁

@Clearingaspace my ankles are fine going upstairs, my knees however.....

I'm happy with my steps today 12,509 better than I thought it would be.

Onegramatatime · 14/06/2026 00:10

10,557 steps today.

Well done @WorthySloth . That's really great.🎉

@JulietteHasAGun , tell us how your 5 mile walk goes tomorrow. Good job on the great steps and consistency. 👏

@10kstepsaday , how did you get on with the steps eventually? Sometimes, the body needs rest. Especially after a taxing yoga session.

@Joolly2 , hope the knees get better. I don't understand why the knees like making a fuss. I guess they know how essential they are. Mine are moaners too. Funny enough, it's worse coming downstairs.

I was procrastinating cleaning the house today, then got distracted by netflix, then it was time to become a lesson teacher, then I suddenly got a burst of energy & enthusiasm for some house jobs/errands that WERE NOT on the list. So many words just to say house cleaning attempt today was a fail. But I got a full body strength training session done which i enjoyed. That's something!

Clearingaspace · 14/06/2026 09:16

Fantastic @WorthySloth and sounds like a fun day!

@Onegramatatime i didn’t get round to cleaning either, went clothes shopping instead- I don’t mind once I am into it but getting started cleaning is just such a snore and so many better things to do! But you got some done and a workout which is a lot more than me!

@Joolly2 I sympathise with the knees it’s horrid!

well done on your yoga @10kstepsaday you probably got more benefits from doing yoga and steps rather than just doing extra steps

My steps yesterday were 14013

Clearingaspace · 14/06/2026 10:18

Oh, sorry to double post (I am definitely not avoiding cleaning 😉), has anyone noticed any benefits from the extra steps? Mine are: more energy in general- I was beginning to think I needed a GP appointment but now feeling a lot better; I am a bit faster and noticed myself overtaking people when walking with fairly heavy bags; my legs are possibly a little slimmer although sadly not my stomach - I had a reality check in the primark changing rooms!

JulietteHasAGun · 14/06/2026 14:37

Finished my walk, was actually 6.5 miles in the end and 16,000 steps. Which has taken my daily average for the week to over 11,000 which I’m really pleased about.

Onegramatatime · 14/06/2026 14:40

I know if i maintain watching my calories and i do more steps consistently e.g 16K - 21k for 2 - 3 weeks, my losses are slightly more when i weigh on Sunday.

@JulietteHasAGun , brilliant. It's such lovely weather here. You had the same? A good day for such a walk. Congratulations!!!

10kstepsaday · 14/06/2026 19:57

@Onegramatatime I did get to 10, 112 yesterday in the end 🙌
But yes a rest was definitely needed. Today I am at 6209 and just done. A very slow chilled Sunday was needed. I did go to Yoga again, but it was a slow stretchy one (thank god!).

Well Done everyone, you're all smashing it!!!

OP posts:
WorthySloth · 14/06/2026 20:15

Done just over 6300 today so my weekly total is around 71000. Happy with that.

Clearingaspace · 14/06/2026 21:06

Wow fantastic to do so much in one go @JulietteHasAGun feel like it makes it that bit more tiring

interesting that you lose weight if your steps are regularly above the 16000 mark @Onegramatatime - 15000 seems to be the point where my body protests - maybe thats natures way of keeping me chunky 🤪

great to hit your weekly goal @WorthySloth with steps to spare!

well done on double yoga @10kstepsaday

currently at 16366 - no workout and not much cleaning though Blush
