Hello Everyone, Happy June 🤩

Here is our monthly thread for recording your daily steps, and having a chat along the way. Everyone is welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

May was a bit of a flop for me, as I was away and out of routine.
I know for others, with the UK heatwave it was a tricky one some days!
Now I am ready and raring to go for June, and I am hoping to hit the 10k every single day!

As always this thread has been very motivational and encouraging so please join in, and lets get those steps in 😁

Sounds perfect @WorthySloth

@Joolly2 hopefully next week will be a lot better for you/most of us, and you can soak up some vitamin d in more enjoyable temperatures. Maybe look on it as a rest period like they do with weight lifting.

@JulietteHasAGun I think lots of us are finding it much harder in the heat tbh 🥵

Ooh let us know how you get on with your new hat @10kstepsaday 💃

Annoyingly, I was very sleep deprived this morning and forgot my phone on my super early walk, also didn’t bother with my watch all day so officially I have done 7421 but I am certain it was more than 10000 - so annoying for my stats 😭

@Joolly2 , it has been blistering. Keep safe. Your cool dark room sounds sublime. I am imagining chilled drinks to hand, cool strawberries 🍓& blueberries 🫐 in a side plate and a novel in your hands. I am positively envious.

Schools fully open here and work has no WFH options unfortunately. So we are pushing through.

I have not posted for a couple of days.

Wednesday- 14,376 steps
Thursday- 15,459 steps

@WorthySloth & @JulietteHasAGun , well done on your steps. Clearingaspace & 10Kstepsaday welldone too.

@Clearingaspace , haven't seen hats too. But I have seen people running!! Running, i tell you!!! I am wow! how are you doing that?! I have not been able to do any strength training in the last 5 days - it's just too hot. Oh..the runners have been wearing beaked hats/face caps (just remembered).

@10kstepsaday , loving the trips😁. Who knows maybe a 10k steps a day movement has been created and we don't know it yet. If you do get the Eleanor Bowmer hat, don't let the weather spoil your launch. Rine or Shine the lovely hat shall be worn. But what you said is true. I remember the air conditioner debate i had with myself a few times in previous years... about getting one and just as I get one, the heatwave is gone. And i am left with this bulky machine for the remaining 363 days! The weather is fickle, and just as you decide 'looks like it's staying, let me do something about it' it's gone.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

@Onegramatatime This is so very true. I always put off buying the kids new wellies and raincoats, every March/April time I convince myself no if i buy them now it will be spring/summer soon and they will grow out of it and we continue in the wet weather for ages - guarantee when I give in the sun shows up! I think maybe I just need to be more organised... 😆

9919 steps yesterday. Today is the worst day so far i think.
I am planning on doing as you are @Joolly2
not moving from my spot (i am working but meh) which is dark and cool with 2 fans pointing at me.

I've been on a roll, totalled over 20,000 steps Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 16,511 so far today but I won't do many more as I'm knackered and HOT!

WorthySloth · Yesterday 23:18

6416 today. Away tomorrow so steps should increase 😊

Clearingaspace · Yesterday 23:29

well done all

8702 today - at the moment I am happy with anything above 7000, so not too bad.

hat status around here this morning - I estimate approx 10.%, of people had one on, mostly baseball caps. @Onegramatatime I did see a young couple sprinting past me sans hats not even looking remotely hot whilst I was completely red in the face and sweaty just waking! I have seen a few people with personal fans but also 2 or 4 with rain umbrellas up to protect them, someone needs to bring back proper parasols!

Onegramatatime · Today 00:19

16,284 steps today.

No strength training today.

And I had a treat today, so calories were above my limit but what is life without treats.

@Clearingaspace , I saw a very young lady with a real parasol yesterday. It was lovely to see, also intriuiging.

It's the weekend. It's a busy one here and I am dreading it. Have a lovely weekend all.
