Will going from around 10st to 9st make a big difference?

Hi,

I’ve been on a weight loss journey. I’m 5ft 5, I started at 12st 9 and I am now 10st 3 so I’ve lost nearly 2 & a half stone. I was a 16 jeans size and now a 12.

I originally thought that if I got down to 9st I would love my body and look and feel slim but with just over one stone to go, I still have lots of fat to lose from my legs, stomach and arms (bingo wings) and I’m struggling to see that one stone will get rid of all of that!

Do you think it would? Will I see a dramatic difference in my body from 10st 3lbs to 9st? Or should I be aiming for closer to 8st?

I know about skinny fat and have just started at the gym this week to try and build some muscle to ‘tone up’ aswell as lose weight. Been doing strength training and a bit of cardio.

Is anyone 5ft 5 and around 9st? If so, what clothes size are you if you don’t mind me asking? I really wanted to order a load of new clothes for when I’m happy in my body but don’t know whether to go for size 10 or 8.

Thanks for any replies
xxx

I went from 13 to 10 stone before and that last stone was the one where everyone noticed. I was also doing a lot of fitness/toning.

Hi. Well done on what you’ve achieved so far. My experience is as follows: I was more than 16st (a lot more but still feel embarrassed to say how much, ridiculous I know - lots of weight issues are a mental challenge as much as a physical challenge for some of us) and I too felt getting to a certain weight (11st for me) would make me happy. But I was a size 14 at 11st and in my head I thought I would be much smaller as I could fit into a size 20 at my largest size so was disappointed that a 5+ stone weight loss would only equate to 3 dress sizes. So I kept going and it was so weird because although I had worked really hard with exercise and dieting for over 18mths because I lost 2 dress sizes in the last stone! But be careful because I now have become obsessed, I’m a size 10 which is something I could only dream of, I never even wore a size 10 as a young adult, when I moved from children clothes I was a size 12. But I still can’t stand seeing even half a pound go on when I get weighed even though I know that’s ridiculous, I’ve become obsessed with losing weight and I know it’s wrong. You sound like a healthy weight to me.

I’m 5’6.5” btw.

I am 5ft 6 and 10 stone . I am a size 8, but a regular gym goer and swim and walk everywhere. So I would say that it’s definitely more an issue that you probably need to tone up rather than lose weight
