An accountability/planning/thinking-out-loud thread. State what you'll be doing today or tomorrow towards your weight-loss and health goals. Then check-in afterwards and let us know how you did.

Please say hello and tell us a bit about yourself...

I'm Peae, working on TRE, two whole-food meals a day, plenty of protein and fibre, weight-lifting and walking, reducing sugar and Diet Coke.

SW 14st, CW 13st 3lb, CGW 12st 7lb.

Thank you @Peae for setting this up! I don't weigh myself so I don't know what weight I am, but clothes are definitely a bit tighter since hitting 50.
Im trying to exercise more in the gym and less running these days and trying to eat more protein. I'm fascinated by the science of fasting and nutrition so experiment with various things !

Peae · 22/03/2025 09:15

'Morning @Whyherewego! How's your weekend looking?

I have finally had a result on the scales, down to 13st 1lb this morning. Phew, I was losing heart.

I'm off for a weekend away today, so making things a bit trickier. Plan is to fast until midday visit to tearooms. I will get there earlier than the company, and will eat a small broccoli salad in the car. At the tearooms I will eat a rather unhelpful ham sandwich and chips, but they are absolutely gorgeous there. Will swerve pudding as I will be stuffed.
Then, drive on to hotel. I'm taking some tuna for the hotel room as otherwise the protein will be shocking today. Will probably end up with a cocktail early evening. Lots of water, max of 3x Cokes.

Lots of driving involved, so unfortunately a bit of a sedentary day. Yesterday was 16k steps and this morning I got up for a quick walk to get some fresh air.

OP posts:
Whyherewego · 22/03/2025 10:26

16k steps is great ! I'm away for the weekend at friends so tricky as less in control of food. I have eschewed wine at least last night and we have a run planned tomorrow morning so some exercise at least to offset the extra food.
My plan atm is a fast on Wednesday next week as I've got an all day workshop so that makes it a bit easier

Peae · 22/03/2025 18:50

I think that’s a good idea. I might plan for OMAD one day next week. Will check my diary.

Today has gone to plan apart from I had 4 cans of pop. Tomorrow I am aiming for a high protein breakfast (at hotel), no dinner and an early tea. Not sure what. No pudding.

Hi, can I join you?

I still have 12lbs to lose to get to my goal weight, but happy for it to be slow and steady as my health/exercise goals are my main focus. Tomorrow I plan to do two hours of yoga, and make sure I eat some more protein than I did today (was out for lunch). Also, drink my bottle of water rather than filling it and forgetting about it!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/03/2025 21:15

I’m trying to do fast800 but most days I’m coming in around 1000 cals. My goal is to come in under my allowance and not eat my exercise calories. This week I have managed 5 out of 6 days so far, and it’s only tonight that I have gone over which I’m really pleased with. I’m really hoping for a 2lb loss when I weigh in on Monday but I do need a really good day tomorrow to get that I think.

LittleLamzyDivey · 23/03/2025 07:10

Hi @Peae ! Thank you for starting this thread. I still on the fasting thread but it doesn't hurt to be accountable twice...
Well done on the 2 lb loss, and for sticking to your plan!
I'm eating (keto) today and tomorrow and plan to do three 42 hour fasts Tues. Thurs & Sat.
SW 15/10, CW 13/2, GW 10/0

Peae · 23/03/2025 07:53

Hi! Welcome @Poisonwood good luck with your protein and water goals today.

What are your eating plans for today @thenewaveragebear1983?

Thank you @LittleLamzyDivey, it was the sign of success I really needed this week.😆. I am in awe of your fasting success, and do wonder if, now I'm focused on fibre and protein, I'll soon be back with you. Fasting I mean, I'll be on the fasting thread too for my OMADs.

Hi @Peae, today could be a little tricky, I’ve not really planned (which is a danger zone in itself) and my son’s football team could potentially win their league today which could mean we go out with the team and parents to celebrate- as yet, unknown. If they go somewhere like McDonald’s I am very able to say no, it does nothing for me. But if they suggest a pub for a proper meal, inevitably I will eat there and it will hugely depend where they choose.

I’ve not had breakfast anyway, and if we do end up at home, I have salad, etc and some frozen portions of fast800 meals in the freezer.

Jollyjoy · 23/03/2025 12:31

Hi all, thanks @Peae for the thread and congratulations on the loss! I’m planning a fast starting this evening and an omad day on wed or Thu. I’m losing slowly and steadily, about 7lb since mid Jan. Want to lose another 10lb.

Peae · 23/03/2025 14:05

That’s great @Jollyjoy well done!

My mood is dipping and I’m finding it difficult to stick to my goals today.

@Peae what's pulling you down? I do find weekends harder personally and weekday easier but it's all so person dependent. If you can avoid people/situations that are tempting I find that helps. But good luck !

Poisonwood · 23/03/2025 19:13

@Peae any idea why it’s dipping? I always find Sundays are dip days…have no family and not much money to do activities. I try and hide it from the kids but Sundays are long.

I had protein yoghurt for breakfast, and a bean chilli tonight that I also added the Aquafaba to - my protein wasn’t bad at all. Drank 600 ml of water plus my normal teas. Did an hour yoga and an hour walk, so overall a successful day.

Tomorrow I want to do an hour’s yoga, drink more water, eat more vegetables.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/03/2025 20:21

I’ve had a good week and it’s weigh day tomorrow, I’m hoping for 2lbs off.

tomorrow, and the week ahead- I’m trying for fast800 again but I’m ok with 1100(ish). I need to drink more water. I hit all my workout goals this week: 5hrs walking, 20km run, 2 workouts - I’d like to do that again this week

Whyherewego · 24/03/2025 07:52

How did it go yesterday @Peae ?

Well done for hitting all your goals @thenewaveragebear1983 ... nice one

Im going try to have some good food today and focus in my fast for Weds

Peae · 24/03/2025 07:55

I don't know why I felt low yesterday. Sometimes I just wonder if this is all there is to life and surely there should be more. And then I think about leaving DP and selling up and just heading out in to the sunset. Then I eat some biscuits so I don't have to think or feel about it all any more.

Well done with hitting all of those activity goals @thenewaveragebear1983 ! I might think about my physical activity like that this week. How did the weigh-in go? (Where/when do you do it?).

Good luck with the yoga-ing and vegetable-ing @Poisonwood.

So, I'm going to enjoy a (light) hotel breakfast this morning and not even worry about protein because I can't face more greazzzzzy eggs. We've got leftover Thai curry at home for tea, and adding some cashew nuts and chickpeas to make it in to a final meal. I was going to leave early to fit in a gym session before it gets busy, but am not going to put that pressure on me. If I end up all day lounging in the spa, so be it.

Yes I am. I'll eat early on Tues eve and then I'll try for a 24 hr fast until Weds eve. I think this is very doable for me

I agree re hotel eggs! Maybe some yoghurt with fruit or something might be a nice alternative? Or sometimes I have sausage sandwich lol !

Sorry you felt a bit low ... sometimes it does feel a bit relentless on the merry go round. Hopefully some nice spa rest and recup will do the trick

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/03/2025 10:25

@Peae 2.5lbs off , I’m really pleased with that. I weigh at home but I submit my results in a weigh in group that’s linked to a podcast I listen to. We all add our weigh ins on a Monday morning.

Peae · 24/03/2025 11:53

@Whyherewego i had beans and sausages and some berries, yogurt and seeds.

Congratulations @thenewaveragebear1983 half a pound over your target!
Following your example I’ve looked at the weather forecast and planned my commutes for the week, and then gym sessions. I need to add some cardio again, so might pick up the skipping rope again.

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/03/2025 12:12

@Peae that’s what I always do, get the diary out and put the workouts in. Usually I do the same every week (eg Tuesday is always rest day, Wednesday I do a 5km before work, Saturday is always hiit class eg ) as it helps me to plan it that rigidly. I’m actually trying to phase out the cardio a bit, and focus on strength training but I just love running and nothing quite hits the spot like a run.

Me too. I'm really good at adjusting my day to fit a run in but less on strength ! It's just not a automatic go to for me

Offtobuttonmoontovisitmrspoon · 24/03/2025 13:33

Hi @Peae I would like to join if okay .
I have lost 7lb and still have 1 stone to lose! I used to love OMAD but haven’t managed one for a while so would be up for joining with others. Currently low carb, high protein.
I’m not exercising much due to illness but really miss it! One day….!

lechatnoir · 24/03/2025 13:35

Hi can I join you please.

Im aiming for a steady 1-2lbs a week with a combination of fasting (usually 16:8 just by missing breakfast) and incorporating some old slimming world habits like 1/3 plate veggies, lots of protein etc. I lot the first stone pretty quickly then stalled so really trying to knock the boredom/habit snacking on the head of make fruit & a glass of water my go to instead
of rubbish.
I’m doing yoga and Body pump once a week and walk the dog so usually hit 10k steps but could do with adding a 2nd strength class/gym session if I can find the time.
