I find when I’m mid cycle/ovulating, I get a mini PmT thing going on, had a big binge last night and today I’ve really really wanted to eat loads but I haven’t. Much.

I had baked oats, yoghurt and berries
lunch was salad and Hungarian pork
dinner was a lovely Moroccan lamb meatballs with veg.
apple and satsumas
diet sprite and a kitkat white

1250 calories. Over 100g carbs and prob not enough protein.
I did go for a run at lunch though

tomorrow- I just plan to have another on plan day. I’m aiming to come in under calories and not eat my exercise calories, drink water and just not always eat everything that I want. Sounds silly but it’s actually helping me to remind myself that it’s that OR that, not everything. Like today I had a white kitkat, but dh bought custard donuts reduced, I can’t have one of those (because I chose a kitkat)

Peae · 27/03/2025 06:48

Good luck today everyone!

I don't have loads to lose but a beach holiday in June is motivating me to lose hopefully a stone. SW 10st 7Ib GW 9st 7lb, current weight 10st 2lb. I'm in my 50s and the only way this works is if I don't eat until 12pm, stop eating at 8pm and low carb during that time. Chaffles are my friend for work lunches. I still have wine when I want, I don't exercise much because I'm a bit lazy but doing the above works really well for weight loss.

Firstshoes · 27/03/2025 06:58

Good luck to everyone else!

Peae · 27/03/2025 06:58

I can only dream of 16:8 leading to such a healthy weight! Welcome aboard @Firstshoes !

Whyherewego · 27/03/2025 08:11

Right today I will not have any cookies! That's the plan. And I will just focus on eating good food. Working from home so will go for a little walk too

Jollyjoy · 27/03/2025 10:20

I had to google chaffles there @Firstshoes, sounds delicious! The only waffle
maker we have is a Pokémon one with pikachus face 😆

After a long fast on Mon, I’m having a week of wanting to eat all the food! It’s pre period week so I’m thinking my body is needing a bit more so trying to just go with it and my plan is to try and make healthy foods to eat lots of. Didn’t go so well with a McDonalds yesterday. Was going to do omad today but I need food. So going to make something eggy and veggie now. Have a good day everyone!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/03/2025 10:43

Oooh definitely going to try those Chaffles! I recall a while ago lots of recipes with mozzarella and eggs, things like wraps, the mozzarella gives a really nice texture. The other nice treat is Parmesan chips, just grate a loads of Parmesan and spread it on a tray, bake until it’s a sheet and the cut into squares while still pliable. Makes a really nice alternative to crisps or crackers

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/03/2025 10:43

There’s also a range called ‘good guys’ that do lovely little wafer crackers that are only 5cal each

fastingaway · 27/03/2025 12:18

So behind the thread but @Jollyjoy there must have been something in the air as I also had a MacDs yesterday - which I never do. Free evening to myself and no leftovers/couldn’t be bothered to cook.

another fan of chaffles here which I have with my eggs, mushrooms and avocado instead of toast. But the occasional sourdough does sneak in.

Jollyjoy · 27/03/2025 13:15

That’s funny @fastingaway. My DD had a fall and needed seen at hospital (she’s fine) and wanted a McDs on way home, I just couldn’t face organising something to eat after 3hrs at the hospital. But I was starving and wolfed it down and felt so yuk afterwards. I think it’s like you say @LittleLamzyDivey , you forget how rank it is!! I’d love it so much if somewhere like Wagamama did drive through.

Peae · 27/03/2025 20:35

How did people do today?

Today:

  • walk my commute - yes, but got a bit of a lift on the way home.
  • salad for breakfast, not sure what source of protein we've got in though. - yes, ended up with 3 eggs.
  • Max 3 Diet Cokes. - fail again. 4.
  • Body Balance class in the evening. - done.
  • No packets of biscuits. - er, had half a packet that was in my desk drawer.

Tea was a jacket potato with beans and cheese. I don't think I can manage the tomato sauce from the baked beans any more, it gives me heart burn. But that's more likely to be all the bloody Diet Coke. 14k steps and a pb on the assisted pull-ups before my gym class.
Edit - also my fast was 17.5hours.

Peae · 27/03/2025 20:37

Tomorrow.

  • walk my commute
  • salmon salad for breakfast, skipping the MaccyDs(!) being bought for everyone at work. Tea will be fish and vegetables.
  • Max 3 Diet Cokes.
  • Gym after work if I have the energy.
  • No full packets of biscuits.

Whyherewego · 27/03/2025 20:48

Nice one on the PB @Peae !
I did ok, had protein shake eggs and toast for breakfast. Cheese sandwich (homemade) for lunch with beetroot and then bolognese minus the pasta for dinner. I did have a teensy bit of wine whilst cooking but no cookies so that's good. Desperately want some chocolate now but resisting. Managed 10k steps and will do gym tomorrow and hopefully no cookies and plenty of protein.
Im listening to that podcast you recommended. I may move to eating breakfast and skipping dinner!

Peae · 27/03/2025 20:53

Desperately want some chocolate now but resisting.

Would it help to brush your teeth? I also use the Easy Fast app (free version) and find that 'closing my eating window' helps me to not eat any more that day.

OP posts:
Whyherewego · 28/03/2025 05:45

Thanks tried the teeth brushing that did help !

Poisonwood · 28/03/2025 06:37

Okay day yesterday, had scrambled eggs for breakfast, half a tin of soup and a slice of wholemeal toast with cheese spread at lunch, and a protein flapjack as early dinner before my 2.5hr yoga class. Definitely did not drink enough and just felt meh all day - the weather wasn’t good.

Today - an hour of yoga, more water, try and get out for a walk.

Peae · 28/03/2025 09:10

Thats the reminder I needed to keep an eye on my water. I think these evening gym sessions are leaving pretty thirsty.

OP posts:
Peae · 28/03/2025 19:18

My check-in for today:

  • walk my commute. Done, there and back.
  • salmon salad for breakfast, skipping the MaccyDs(!) being bought for everyone at work. Tea will be fish and vegetables. I didn't skip the breakfast, ended up with a bacon and brie panini. Had the salad for dinner and was going to fast. However, I was hungry after the gym so ended up snacking on apple and peanut butter about 4pm.
  • Max 3 Diet Cokes. I was so close to this, but had 4 :(
  • Gym after work if I have the energy. Done.
  • No full packets of biscuits. Done, actually managed 0 sugar today.

Tomorrow I'm not sure. Going round to my gran's, said I really didn't need feeding, she said that was fine, she'd make me a bacon butty. Lots of other complications tomorrow too. I may not be able to plan around it.

I stuck well within my calories today but my food choices were atrocious. I abandoned lunch all together and just ate a custard donut and two cereal bars 🤦‍♀️ plus all day I have been daydreaming about baking something (I have acquired an immaculate condition kenwood chef so I really do need to test it out) - so far I have resisted.

tomorrow: going to try to fast until mid morning, then will have a protein shake as I am at the gym, and a couple of boiled eggs with some salad once I get back. My simply cook subscription arrived today so I might cook one of those if I have the ingredients. Otherwise I’ll do some diet of seasoned chicken, kids can have wraps or pitta and I’ll have veg.

Still not drinking but I do really fancy a non alcoholic wine, does anyone have any recommendations?

Jollyjoy · 28/03/2025 20:05

Oooh @thenewaveragebear1983ive had my kenwood for 6mo or so and I absolutely love it…I may be a bad influence here but am going to send a pic of a recipe for home made Nutella…absolutely delicious and low sugar but probably very high calorie. All good stuff tho. It’s made me want to try making various nut butters as it was so easy.

I had a decent day, hadn’t really planned to fast but ended up going to 4.30. Then went to Wagamama for tea and had some sweets with kids after. Also doubt I drank enough.

What steps are you taking today/tomorrow (and how did it go)?
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/03/2025 21:21

Thanks @Jollyjoy, that sounds amazing. Can I do that with my K beater or do I need more of a food processor type blade? This kenwood I have acquired has been donated by a member of staff (I work at a charity HQ and people can donate and we can buy)- it’s 1980s I reckon, China Bowl, in immaculate condition (still has its manual!) and she charged me £7 for it. But it only has a k paddle, a balloon whisk and a bread hook- no blades

Whyherewego · 28/03/2025 21:44

Well done folks. I had good breakfast and lunch. (Eggs for brekker and cheese and han sandwich for lunch). I went to gym after work
So far so good
Then I had spag bol and then i drank some wine. Then i had 2 cookies
Dammit

Jollyjoy · 28/03/2025 22:34

Ah sorry @thenewaveragebear1983, yes I have a new one and do it in an attachment that goes on the top with high speed blade. I wonder if you can get that on yours? This is the one that came with mine https://www.kenwoodworld.com/en-gb/food-processor-attachment-kah65-000pl/p/KAH65.000PL. Use it daily for things like grating cheese and carrots. The bowl I use less frequently but for mixing any home baking, whipping cream, pancakes etc.

@Jollyjoy maybe but i do also have a standard processor so I could just use that! Kids would love to make Nutella!
