42 year old looking to lose two stone by December. anyone care to join?

Currently over indulging k
On holiday and after a stressful four years I'm ready to get fit and healthy and lose two stone. I'm going to start at the beginning of September. Would anyone like to join and motivate each other?

I started a group on What's App (had to create a community and then a group within that to be able to create a group I could share a link, but if you join the community you can join the group chat - so complicated haha)

Hello @TheGirlWhoLived welcome to our lovely group. Official kick off is 1st September but starting sooner is a bonus. How exciting about Disney. You'll certainly get your steps in.

Welcome @turkeymuffin your plan sounds fantastic and you're inspiring me.
Walking is fab and we've set a challenge for September to walk 31 miles in one month (or do another activity of your choice 30mins a day at least three times a week)

@Littlepinkstarsbyradish welcome to the group. I'm all about the easy meals and will continue to be even in my 'healthier' era haha. So will be sure to share the easiest recipes and snacks. So sorry you've been through a lot.

@ThisCharmingteacher welcome to the group. I love MFP and plan to up my protein too! We can do this xx

Im in! Two stone would put me at a health weight and I know I would feel so much better. (53 and menopausally pudgy)

I want to join in too! 43 and have plateaued at 11 stone for the past year. Possibly put up to half a stone on since the summer hols started (daren’t weigh myself!) so probably now have about 2 stone to lose.

I would like to

  • increase water intake (2 litres initially and then up to 3)
  • get to sleep earlier (no phone scrolling in bed - books only)
  • do at least 10,000 steps a day
  • run 2-3 times a week (Couch 2 5K)
  • do some weights / strength training by following some YouTube vids 5 times a week
  • Intermittent fasting. Eating hours 10am - 6pm
  • 1200 calories between those hours of healthy food on a week day
  • 1500 calories weekend
  • significantly reduce UPFs

not weight loss, but would also like to make sure I implement a decent, consistent skin care routine too 👍🏻

im going out for lunch today and then I’m going to start tomorrow on the eating front. But then away next week so will slack off again and then start proper on 1st sept

I’m in!! I need to loose 1 stone by 13th Dec. That’s my ds’s 18th birthday and I’ve set that as a goal.
I need to be held accountable. I need this thread!!

I’ll Probably do low carb as that’s worked for me before. I go to the gym but it’s easy to not go, I can always find an excuse!!

I would also like to join and start in September. I'm 42 and have about 2 stone to lose. I don't have time to go to the gym but I'll start walking more and hopefully do some other exercise at home.
My biggest downfall is fizzy drinks. When I'm feeling depressed, ill or bored, I reach for a can of coke. If I could break that habit, I'd easily lose weight. I just need to find the motivation!

Am down to just over 200lb need a push to keep going.

Another one who self sabotage with cans of diet drinks ... I KNOW it stops me losing weight but I still buy and drink them!!!

Ooh I’ve seen there’s a WhatsApp group. I won’t join that because another one of my aims is to reduce phone use - so will just check in on here during my phone time. Part of my problem is spending hours scrolling and being unproductive / lethargic. My phone is a massive problem!

I'd love to join you all aswell! I'm 37 and currently the heaviest I've ever been, fed up of seeing myself in pics looking like this. I need to lose about 3 stone and like many of you have already mentioned it needs to start with being more active and cutting out the snacking.

I’m in. I have 26kg to lose. I started on 12 August and I find I go off the rails if I’m not maintaining weight loss so I have decided not to weigh myself regularly, but see how my clothes are fitting. I will weigh myself on 4 November which is 14 weeks: if I’ve averaged a pound a week I should have lost a stone,

I am swapping two meals for meal replacement bars, because it’s straightforward and the portion control is done for me. I’ll eat as I normally do at dinner but I’m paying attention to portion size and feeling full.

So I’d like to join you but won’t weigh in until a big reveal in November! Unless I crack before then.

I am going to try and introduce new habits I think as I go along rather than hit diet mode.

I have my graduation in October and would like to lose a stone by then, and another stone by December, as like @Beautifulsunflowers, my DD is turning 18 in December.

I have just bought one of the 2l bottles from the range. No point me aiming for 3 litres a day as I don’t even do 2 yet! So, before I go back to work next week I would like to try and make it a habit to fill, and drink, it every day.

I do have a 2 day conference later this week, staying in a hotel with gym and pool. I might see if I can do a pool session.

Thanks for the welcome @frenchbreadandbites I won't join the WhatsApp group as also spend too much time on my phone - my aim is to keep going on my weight loss - I tend to find I am fine for a month or so and either I get a cold or decide its too stressful and give up

My plan is to go low carb..

  • Eggs of some description for breakfast
  • Salad with chicken or fish for lunch
  • Family dinner but go easy on the carbs for my portion

I hope that'll do it, like most others I have a busy life with ft job and two pre teens with full schedules so I have to eat something!

I do manage 10k steps most days but not much else in the way of exercise. We have an exercise bike so I might see if I can fit in 1-2 sessions per week..

Me please. I have to lose about 4 but 2 stone off by Christmas would be amazing. I’m in the obese category at 5’6 tall and have a massive belly - kids at high school so no longer baby weight 😬and I can’t stand the mirror or my clothes not fitting properly.

I’m out at a birthday party later today so have mentally prepared to start on Monday already.

I think I’ve joined the WhatsApp group- not done a group via community before so will see if it’s worked soon hopefully 🤞

Snacks and sweets are my downfall so hopefully cut down on those and increase the activity too. I’m not a massive drinker day to day - only once or twice a month so alcohol not an issue.

Pleased to have a couple of weeks before we start properly so that I can mentally prepare and make some small changes before. Increasing water intake is where I'm going to start, cutting down/out snacks and reducing portion size. I will weigh myself tomorrow for my starting weight and will report back!

@Poppypop87 - fellow 37yo here and feel exactly the same. My brother got married earlier this year and it felt awful having to be in pictures that last forever feeling fat :( never again!

I'm in. I have at least 4 stone to lose but would live to lose 2 stone by the end of the year. I know it's doable but getting started is hard work.

I would love to lose my meno belly and be able to wear nice clothes.

Top tips anyone?
