@Saschka welcome!! I have no concept of kg! That's amazing you used to run to work! It says it takes a month to make a habit so I'm sure we can motivate you to try it out again xxx

Hi all, I’d like to join too! I’m 31 and about 8 stone overweight 🤦🏻‍♀️ we have suffered recurrent miscarriages before I had my little girl- now 2 and I’ve had 2 more miscarriages since. I’ve always been an emotional eater and the weight has just piled on and on. I don’t know when to stop! So I’ll be starting on the 2nd of September when I go back to work. I’ll be using MFP too x

Puddlelane123 · 17/08/2024 17:55

Can I join too? I’m in same boat as all of you by the sounds of it and need some group motivation and accountability to spur me on!

Mine has gone on my waist and in my bra!! 🙄I have had to buy new bra's and new T-shirts to stretch over my boobs!! I am hoping any loss I have comes from those areas first 🙏Thanks for this thread. I feel pretty motivated now!! xx

Itsdare · 17/08/2024 17:59

@frenchbreadandbites thank you 😊

I love a Chinese, but really anything with a lot of cheese, spice and bread is my weakness. The wine has got to be greatly reduced too!

I do make an amazing spicy noodles with gyoza, mozarella, coriander and spring onions which is so delicious 😋 my problem is I eat a lot in the evening too! Lots to tackle and lots of new habits to make!

qwerty1972 · 17/08/2024 18:00

Exactly a decade older than you OP, but I'd love to join and lose 2 stones before Christmas. I'm short (5 foot) and need to be under 9 stone to be healthy. As a wheelchair user, I need to continue to fit into my (expensive!) 15 inch chair and stay as light as possible for transfers. 1st September works perfectly for me. Until then, I'm going to start by upping the water, upping the exercise and eating a bit more healthily. Thank you for starting the thread - the accountability will be really helpful.

Vickyspeaking654 · 17/08/2024 18:04

Thank you for the warm welcome op!

frenchbreadandbites · 17/08/2024 18:09

Hello @sal80 sorry to hear what a tough time you've been through. Hopefully this group can be motivational and supportive all wrapped into one. I can hard relate to the emotional eating.

Welcome @Puddlelane123 great to have you along for the ride! Small and steady changes and wonder where we will be in December!

And welcome @qwerty1972 Age is but a number! All these small healthy changes will have a bigger impact on hoping over four months!

@Itsdare love a Chinese! It will be fun trying to find healthier versions and choices of foods we love. I do think Gyozas are a healthier food choice.

@Lulubellamozarella yes, I've had to buy so many new clothes! We can do this and dazzle everyone at the Christmas parties xxx

I'm in! 2 stone to lose and 44. Stupid perimenopause. I've had my holiday so started already- intermittent fasting. No eating between 1800-1000 and high protein

ElaineMBenes · 17/08/2024 18:13

Me please!
I really need some accountability.

frenchbreadandbites · 17/08/2024 18:14

Yes supposed to be the most effective for women our age Confused

Rowgtfc72 · 17/08/2024 18:27

I'm in!
52. Could do with losing more than 2st but it's a good start.
Perimenopausel, eat when I'm bored, eat the wrong stuff etc.
Have osteoarthritis in my knees and one hip so need to keep moving.
Spend 8hrs a day on my feet at work and do a 9 mile round trip on my bike. Also walk the dog for 2 miles a day.
I already do the endtoend walking challenges but in the last year my mileage has gone from 5-10 a day to 2. Weights gone on and I'm eating due to disillusionment ( that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it😁)
Sept 1st suits me fine.

Spaggybollynese · 17/08/2024 18:29

I want to lose a stone for my birthday in December. I have no willpower. I love food, eat loads and have a sweet tooth. And a salt tooth 😂

I’m a healthy weight but prefer my figure a stone lighter.

Hoping for some real accountability! Anyone game?

snowynight · 17/08/2024 18:33

I'm in! 61 yo with 3 stone to lose. I've started having a go using MFP and trying to cut out sweet stuff, but some moral support would be wonderful. Hate the fact I can no longer fit into my clothes, and also the excess weight is impacting my mobility 😞

frenchbreadandbites · 17/08/2024 18:37

Welcome @Rowgtfc72 and @Spaggybollynese looking forward to starting this journey with you both xxx

Spaggybollynese · 17/08/2024 18:40

I want to:

  • priortize exercise x2 classes a week plus one weights session
  • Get up earlier to do my long dog walks again on WFH days
  • IF - in max 10 hour window, aim for less or 2 meals a day
  • sweet things only after meals
  • if I feel the urge to snack, drink or fruit onlu
frenchbreadandbites · 17/08/2024 18:41

@snowynight welcome! We're all in the same boat!!

Just to update.

Official kick off 1st September.
The physical challenge is to walk 31 miles in a month OR aim to do half an hour of exercise you love four-five days a week at least!

I'm going to try intermittent fasting (18.00-10.00am) as inspired by @elvislives2012

Emphasis on healthy choice.

Also, weighing food out and tracking on my fitness pal has always helped me stay on track!

I'm in please for the millionth time. I'm just posting to mark my place, will be back later for a proper hello.

Rowgtfc72 · 17/08/2024 19:04

@frenchbreadandbites I did the nhs weightloss app for 12 weeks and lost a stone and a half. All I changed was weighing food and counting calories.
I got bored with that and put the weight back on but it certainly made me look carefully at what I was eating and why.

Hi,
I'd like to join in and lose two stone by Christmas as well. Mostly overweight due to evening snacking and eating loads of snacks while wfh. Will aim to not eat at my computer and use MFP. I'm 42 with two small children x
