On holiday and after a stressful four years I'm ready to get fit and healthy and lose two stone. I'm going to start at the beginning of September. Would anyone like to join and motivate each other?

I have been a bit quiet on this thread (and in fact it is quiet here!) but I've come back to report I have met and in fact overshot my "by Christmas" goal!

Starting weight (mid August) 82kg
Goal weight (by Christmas) 70kg
Current weight 69kg

So pleased and thank you so much for this thread!

I'm still here, although I will divulge that I have taken Mounjaro for the past month as the diet and exercise alone was not shifting my menopausal weight. I have lost a stone but the main benefit has been to cure me of my wine habit. I have zero food noise too. I realise it isn't for everyone, but I did plenty of research and I have been happy with my decision and results. It does feel like I will be able to keep it off after I have stopped. I have come to the realisation that food has dominated a lot of my thoughts!

@30freespins that is brilliant, and such good news that it is working out so well for you. I keep reading really positive things about Moujarno on other threads and it seems to be a great success.

I know what you mean about not thinking about food so much anymore. It also frees up mind space for other things!

Well done Blossom. I'm at a similar stage to you. Started 12st 8 (79.8 kg) and now down to 10st 12 (69kg).
Feeling so much better for it. Today I'm wearing jeans which I had got too fat for but hung on to, now they are comfortably loose, it's such an enjoyable new feeling, clothes being a bit loose.
My cholesterol has come down nicely too, still slightly raised so I have an appointment with GP next week to discuss but I'm not going to go on statins, I'm sure it will come down more with sustained careful eating.

Calorie counting using my fitness pal has been really helpful to make me appreciate portion size and just how calorific certain things are. Had a week in Cornwall with the DC and two of their friends so there were trips to club and National trust cafes. I chose wisely without too much difficulty whilst allowing myself a few little extras wine. No cream teas or cakes or puddings. It made me realise how much the young eat!! No judgement, they are all fit with great figures and enjoying life but they can really pack it away! Hey ho, those days are past for me now. I think not snacking, mindlessly popping a biscuit or tow or a handful of roses into my mouth at work makes a huge difference and also not drinking most of the time.
Plus the exercise. I bought a bike and have built up to a regular 10mile route two or three times a week. I feel so much fitter for it.
So just have to get through Christmas and keep going to get down to my target 9 stone 10 ideally. Christmas being mid week means I won't have many days off work so that will help me not to overindulge.

That sounds amazing @TotteringBy and we have been on very similar journeys.

I am also loving my clothes fitting better, and there were quite a few things in my wardrobe that I couldn't wear anymore that work again now. A good feeling.

I'm not finding maintaining the loss too difficult so far. I've settled into some health habits (boiled eggs for breakfast, salad or soup for lunch) and have a smaller portion at the main family dinner. Still have our Friday takeaway as a treat but probably choose a slightly healthier version.

Christmas will be a challenge of course but I think it will be ok..

Same, I now have 30gm of Dorset cereal muesli with 0% fat Skyr and some fruit like blueberries every day for breakfast. Snack on ryvita or similar with low fat cottage cheese and kimchi.
Weigh out portions at family dinner - 150gm of spaghetti really doesn't look much 🥲 (at least half what DD has or I would have had previously) but it's enough to satisfy hunger and I'm used to eating less now.

Anyway here's a funny story for anyone else still looking at the thread. While on holiday in Cornwall I went into a sport shop looking for a hi viz cycling jacket. They had some lovely ones in the sale but no size 14, only 12 or 16. The 12 was too small over the hips.
Husband suggested trying the 16.
I said "I am not a size 16".
He persisted. "Sizes very. Try the 16 to see".
I said "I AM NOT a size 16".

Wtf is it with men (some men) (my husband) that they fail to recognise the danger signs and realise they are on thin ice and had better shut up and back off??

So he said again "Well just try it on anyway".

I lost it and said loudly "I AM NOT A 16 and never have been. What's the point in me working to lose weight and buying a bigger size?"

So he ends up weakly saying "why are you so grumpy". 😡 (I wasn't until then 🙄)

Anyway I later ordered a 14 from same brand (Proviz) online and it was too big so had to return it and not sure if it was a different style or if I had lost more weight by then but by the time I got a 12 in exchange it fitted nicely!
