I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

Good luck! It's a hard time of year to commit to daily weighing but will be interesting to see how it fluctuates.

Good luck. I weigh daily too. I am hovering up and down for ages recently. I now do it in KG as easier for me to see the fluctuations tbh. I’m not sure why 😂

SW: 98kg
CW: 79.7kg
GW: 68kg
Current method: calorie deficit

Been hovering between 79.2-79.9kg for 2 weeks

Kilos are less scary I think! We don't tend to use them as much as stones and pounds so they aren't as meaningful if that makes sense.
I was 55.5kg today. My starting weight last year was 68kg. I've been hovering around 55-57kg since July.

EatingTillIDie · 21/12/2023 16:54

Kg are just so meaningless to me, I feel like I need the milestone of a stone as I can link it to whatever year or decade I was last that weight! I also can't hide it from myself, 19st is awful.

I've been weighing every day for the past few months.

To my surprise, I've found it has taken away some of my focus on the number on the scale.

I can now see how much I naturally fluctuate day to day. These fluctuations don't bother me aside from can see the bigger picture.

I also weigh in kg as it's less meaningful and doesn't trigger all the decades of associations I have with stone/pounds.

In stones and pounds that's 8st 10lb.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 22/12/2023 06:24

55.3kg this morning. See that's still 8st 10lb but weighing in kilos allows me to see the smaller decreases. BMI 21.4.

Menora · 22/12/2023 11:40

I’m the same today, 79.7kg but my scales show me more in kg than stones tbh. So yes I can see small fluctuations. Like I am 79.70 and yesterday I was 79.75
I sometimes weigh at night out of interest, often I will know I can expect a drop the next morning that way
i am 12st 7lbs in old money

Ive eaten poorly all day, as in not eaten proper meals except breakfast and succumbed to a toasted cheese sandwich tonight as I felt ill hungry. I don't usually eat after 6pm but I needed it. I feel better now but the scales might not be great tomorrow. I've walked 7 miles today which isn't bad. 13 miles yesterday. That will be the last of my decent mileage until January 4th when ds goes back to school.
What app do you use for logging your weight? I use happy scale and like it because it evens things out over time.

ive maintained this week..

I have used SW before and I would say it works but then here I am again!
I reached my TW 1 week before lockdown (had lost 4 stone) then was furloughed so me and DH spent months eating/drinkingBlush

This time round I am doing loads of cooking and have cut out bread/rice/pasta/potatoes - the one I miss most is bread but 'luckily' I have seen over the last few months eating bread gives me indigestion so that helped!

I think the problem is people stop going, obviously during lockdown impossible. Those maintaining seem to keep going

Oooohhh - can I join!

SW 15.2 (Jan)
CW 12.6
GW 12

Getting married next year and finally decided to lose the 'baby' weight (they are 9 & 5!)

Been a slow burn, did a mixture of keto and more recently slimming world. I always weigh daily, and going to try and not put on over Christmas which will be hard!

I weigh myself daily too at the same time but only log on the app when it has gone down since the previous time... is that cheating?

My starting weight on 20 October, when the GP put the fear into me over my far too high cholesterol (thyroid linked, but also shitty diet linked) waws 85.9 kilos. Today is just over 9 weeks later and I now weigh 78.8 kilos.

If I can carry on losing at the same rate of even half a kilo a week, by my birthday in May I should be at 70kg which I will be happy with.

55.3kg today. Hoping for a loss for tomorrow.

CoatOfArms · 23/12/2023 12:13

Oh I didn't add my "method" which is the "have the fear of God put into you by the GP method. I have too high cholesterol so have completely cut out butter, cheese, red meat and pastries. Minimising consumption of cakes, biscuits and chocolate. Trying to eat more avocado, oily fish and oats.

Annoyingly my scales didn't update the app this morning, but I lost 0.5kg! Yes, scales are set to kg. I like to keep it complicated.

That's the last weigh in until Wednesday as I'm away for Christmas. So will see how much damage is done this week 😀

Well done 😊

I weigh daily too. I understand it goes up and down by a couple of pounds but I need the accountability - particularly at this time of year.

I have lost 21lbs so far and have another 24lbs to go to reach my target weight of 9st 9.

getting out of the obese range was amazing, and I am starting to see a difference in clothes.

I love to weigh in daily as it keeps me seeing that swing that my body does. Mine goes up and down all the time.

sw- 13.1
cw - 10.13
gw - 9 stone.

I have a bad gallbladder so cannot pig out over Xmas. So I’m hoping to see at least two pounds off before the start of the new year.

Report
CoatOfArms · 23/12/2023 22:18

Agree @Bellyblueboy - my BMI has gone from 31 to 28.9 which means I am no longer in the obese category. It does make a difference. If I get to 70kg that will be 25.7 and I'm OK with that.

Report
EatingTillIDie · 23/12/2023 23:25

Whenni don't weigh, I gain weight. So I'm trying the opposite! Well done for getting out of obese. I can't imagine it at this point, BMI being 42. Getting down to 30 would make a huge difference, baby steps.
