I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

You'll get there, @EatingTillIDie. It seems far too daunting to think about losing a huge amount. But it's not 3 or 4 or more stone all in a go, it's a pound. Then another pound. And with every couple of pounds you're getting healthier. From what I have seen on this forum it's a supportive place. No judgement, no nastiness whether you have a huge amount to lose, or just a pound or two.

Keep going. You can do it.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 24/12/2023 00:59

@CoatOfArms that's why I love kilos because I can chip little bits of weight off and I see progress mounting up over time and it's a great motivator. I'm almost a stone less than this time last year. I found maintenance hard because I just kept losing then I had a health scare, lost more, tests ok then thought sod it and went off the rails a bit for 4 months and gained a few kilos then I've been back to shifting it again.
My method is eating less and generally not eating after 6pm. I'm very active and have walked 55 miles this week. That's the only exercise I do.

Menora · 24/12/2023 08:23

I have not been well behaved this week with food as I am sick, I’ve got a bad cold and can’t go to the gym and haven’t got out much. I didn’t count calories the last couple of days although I have tried to be fairly sensible but I am 79.1kg today
I assume this will catch up with me next week or so 😭

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 25/12/2023 11:27

Merry Christmas! 🎄 55.05kg today 😃

Menora · 25/12/2023 12:16

Merry Christmas
I have covid
can’t taste or smell now.
food is vile to me
happy.. Christmas? 😂

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 25/12/2023 17:05

@Menora oh no! Get well soon!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 26/12/2023 13:09

55.2kg today but AF arrived yesterday and I've eaten far more salt than normal.
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 27/12/2023 11:35

55.35kg today but AF has partly influenced that so I'm still happy with that weight. We are off for a 3 mile walk today and I'll be glad of it.

The bowl of Christmas chocolates has had 2 eaten. That was me yesterday. No one seems too fussed about food at the moment despite not eating much on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day I had a fried mashed potato buttie (tradition in our family) and a Christmas dinner of 2 slices quorn roast, one stuffing ball, honey roasted carrots and parsnips, 2 roast potatoes, mouthful of peas, cranberry sauce. Pudding was at 8pm, lemon posset with shortbread. 2 glasses of baileys. That was it. Yesterday there was 3 chocolate biscuits and sweets but I'm just not interested in all the things we've got. Must be something wrong with me!

@Menora how are you doing? Hope you're feeling better.

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 27/12/2023 15:05

Hi!

Can I join in please?

SW: 62kg
CW: 61.1kg
GW: 52kg

Can I ask @EatingTillIDie what scales do you have that link with your phone/an app?

moleeye · 27/12/2023 16:45

Late posting but I did weigh this morning

12.5.6

So half a pound down and not managed to put any weight on over Christmas which I'm happy with.

EatingTillIDie · 27/12/2023 17:57

They are Withings scales.

No change since Saturday. I'll take that! Just took 25 clicks of a 0.5 pen. That's somewhere between 0.25 and 0.5 I believe!

I'm 2 days late with the dose and today my appetite returned, was interested in bread and picking at things again. It was nice to desire food again, and have the capacity to eat it. Back to it 😈

I still have no taste or smell but I did eat over Xmas I don’t seem to have gained a lot, but my scales where I am staying aren’t the same as my ones at home (these ones always show me heavier) but still under 80kg I am home later so can weigh in my own ones tomorrow. I assume I am static

Me being back on plan did not go down well with my MIL - she was insulted that I didn’t want to eat all the greasy Xmas day leftovers and wanted a balanced meal - which I went out to buy with my own money! She popped off at me over it. I was like ‘ok.. sure Jan’.. 🙄

People are not always supportive she kept asking me what I was ‘allowed to eat’ I said whatever I choose I just choose this protein and veg today? She kept trying to feed me cheese and bread. My MIL is just so annoying, allegedly she is on a diet but this diet seems to subsist of never ending takeaways and she is insulted when I won’t join in

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 28/12/2023 08:57

Urgh it’s so annoying when people are disparaging! What diet are you doing?

Thanke @EatingTillIDie for the scales recommendation, I’ll have a look!

60.9kg today, baby steps but I’m still drinking far too much alcohol. Which needs to stop!

EatingTillIDie · 28/12/2023 09:26

Just say yes please and put it in the bin later saying oof youve eaten sooooo much 🤣 got to use tactics with weird narcissistic people.

Menora · 28/12/2023 10:06

@SkinnyChaiLattePlease I am just calorie counting but I always try to eat a good amount of protein. Yesterday I had to sit and watch DP eat a five guys burger. It was torture.
MIL is deranged, seriously, but who knew me wanting to eat a chicken salad would cause such drama. She has a really strange set of views of food and no concept of nutrition.

Bellyblueboy · 28/12/2023 10:35

I have gained three pounds in three days😂. Back to porridge today (literally).

I will not give up or eat more today! Need plenty of fruit and veg to get back to normal. Some of this will be water.

Menora · 28/12/2023 10:41

TMI but I am constipated due to a few days of xmas eating and think I have a little tear. 😭 If anything is going to make me stick to this plan it will be the fear of piles and fissures 😑

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 28/12/2023 10:43

55.05kg today.

CoatOfArms · 28/12/2023 11:00

Well eating 2 salty things -kettle chips and lots of salt on potatoes (the only thing I have salt on) has led to a 1.7lb gain overnight! How crazy is that?! Unless the scales are playing up because I've never known such a big overnight gain. It's only fluid due to the salt. I didn't even eat much yesterday. Scales can be so rude. It just shows what a difference salt can make and how much weight can fluctuate. It'll be gone soon.

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 29/12/2023 10:44

@Menora I hope you're feeling better today - constipation is the worst thing. Also, totally hear you about MIL, mine comments if she thinks i'm not eating enough, or I'm eating too much.

61kg today, annoying, but I'm drinking like a fish. This is stopping.

Well done to everyone on the downward trajectory, I'm really impressed.

EatingTillIDie · 29/12/2023 11:09

Piles were the bane of my life for a few years, I have learned to drink much more water and a lot less bread. The pain is unbelievable. I also bought a donut pillow to sit on for my office chair which made a big difference. Hope it eases soon :(
