Amazing @amusedbush 👏🏾
2nd 2.4 tmw, still had the queasy feeling today so it's lasting the week.
Steadily 2 pds a week, now 30 pds down since November.
I'd like another half stone.

I split my doses and rave about it! No side effects and a more even result. Doesn’t wear off towards the end of the week like before because I’m injecting every 3-4 days.

everyone should try it!

Can I please ask how you’re splitting your dose? I’m on my second week of 1mg and finding the slide effects difficult, however having been ok on 0.5 and no side effects at all I’d rather go back to that than feel awful.

thanks!

Titwillow55 · 30/03/2024 08:48

@Mash8586 just buy some spare needles from
amazon or the pharmacy. Then inject 0.5mg on a Monday and 0.5mg on a Thursday (or days of your choice) to split the 1mg dose over two injections.

to find how many clicks you need for a half dose just turn the clicked all the way to 1mg whilst counting the clicks and then half the number. (You can twist it back to zero after counting without injecting that’s fine)

from memory 1mg was 70 clicks and 0.5mg was 35 clicks but check yourself.

start my 0.5 next week, on my 4th week now of 0.25.

So far lost about 10lbs which im super pleased about especially as i don't feel ive been eating super healthy :D Just much less portions and better choices. just need to increase my water and less coffees as trying to get off the sugar completely.

Thank you so much I really appreciate this, I’m totally floored on the 1mg and gutted as I’d been doing so well until now. But I don’t want to give up seen as 0.5mg was fine and worked for me.

It's all quiet here now - I hope you're all okay! I'm still pootling along. There wasn't much movement on the scales last week so today (week 23) my body decided to drop 3.8lbs and hit a load of milestones, one of which has made me really emotional.

Highest weight: 18st 5.2
Started Wegovy: 14st 11.2
Current weight: 10st 9.6

-57.6lbs on Wegovy, -107.6lbs total

I am 10 stone-something for the first time since I was 12 years old. My scales measure in pounds so I'm also "in the 140s" at 149.6lbs. Most incredibly, my BMI is now 24.9 so I am a healthy weight for the first time since I was a child. According to the NHS's kids BMI calculator, I was on the 99th percentile for weight at age 11/12 so I probably haven't been a healthy weight since I was about 8 years old. I'll be 34 next month. That is WILD.

The loose skin is really making itself known now, though. I look fine with clothes on but naked I'm like a melted candle. Thankfully my arse has taken the hit rather than my face; one is easier to hide than the other, and Primark sell cheap brazilian butt lift shorts 😂

Mecheng2 · 12/04/2024 17:18

@amusedbush , wow you have done so well , you should be very proud of yourself. This dieting lark is tough. Well done and huge congratulations

Mookie81 · 13/04/2024 09:55

Excellent @amusedbush !
Just taken week 4 of 2.4, now to decide whether to stay there or go down to 1.7. Any advise anyone?
Now 11 st 13, I've broken the 11 stone barrier!

Soniabristol · 13/04/2024 17:42

Hi all,
Thought I'd join in the chat as I've been on Wegovy since 19/11/23 and been doing it on my own. I moved up to 2.4mg this week and bloating, burping and headaches have returned. I actually had 2 migraines on 1.7mg which I didn't like as over prior to that I had only ever had 4 migraines in my entire 56 years. I'm hoping that was a blip and wonder if maybe it wasn't because of wegovy? My weight loss has been steady and I've lost 30lbs. Last week I decided to try Slimming World with it to give some structure to my diet as I still have another 50lbs to lose. It's great to see everyone doing so well on it

amusedbush · 15/04/2024 11:02

@Mookie81 congrats on the milestone! Are you still experiencing any side effects on 2.4mg? Clinical trials show that people lose the most weight on that dose so if you're tolerating it, I would stick with it for now. Splitting it across the week might help, too.

Thanks @amusedbush !
I still get constipation, I'm taking a tablet roughly once a week which clears me out!
I get thirsty, but struggle to drink a lot so trying to increase that. Otherwise the 2.4ml is going well; I get hungry, but can't eat much and get full quickly.
I need to increase my fruit and veg intake though.

Kickstartplease · 16/04/2024 07:54

Hi all, I have lost 39lbs now & will be weighing later also. I had a minimum of 63lbs to lose to be considered a healthy BMI so still a way to go.
Started in November but am still on the 1mg dose but really happy with how it's going

CoolShoeshine · 17/04/2024 08:08

Can anyone tell me if it is worth persevering? Currently on 1mg (10 weeks in) and haven’t lost any weight. I’m struggling with unhealthy cravings and bad habits, I’m basically a food addict who comfort eats and I thought the medication would help with that.
I can notice some effects from the medication. I find large meals difficult to finish, I am constipated, don’t feel quite as hungry and I don’t enjoy wine as I used to. However the raging cravings are negating the good effects.
is it just not for me or do I need to be more patient? The cost is concerning me and I don’t want to keep throwing money at something that’s not worthwhile.

If you look back at my posts on this thread, you'll see that I didn't really feel any effects until I had been on 1mg for a couple of weeks. I did lose weight because I forced myself to eat at a calorie deficit but I was starving and desperate for it to kick in.

In my experience, it's absolutely worth persevering because the higher doses have been a godsend. I still get hungry a couple of times a day but only when my body genuinely needs food; for the first time in my life, I'm not fighting against a constant fixation about when I can next eat.

In the same way there is a small percentage of "super responders" who are incredibly sensitive to Wegovy, there is also a small percentage for whom the medication never works. However, the vast majority of people only feel the effects at higher doses. 1mg is not a therapeutic dose and is not expected to have a huge effect - it's just part of the titration process to get your body used to the medication. I think you should finish your 1mg pen, give it a couple of weeks on 1.7mg, then see how you feel at that point 😊

Mookie81 · 28/04/2024 11:29

Need a new thread soon, @amusedbush you can do the honours. Smile
Second week of second lot of 2.4ml. Now 2 and a half stone down, now 11 st 10 pds. Haven't been this light in about 15 years.
Would like to stop at 11 stone. Need to up my fluid intake and fruit and veg.

amusedbush · 04/05/2024 11:25

@Mookie81 I would be happy to! I don't want to make a new one too early so I'll keep an eye on how the thread is filling up. And a huge well done on the loss ❤

-

And a general update from me: I'm now 10st 3, having lost 64lbs on Wegovy (114lbs since my highest weight). I definitely want to lose another 10lbs or so but I have realised that a lot of what I thought was stubborn fat on my thighs and stomach is actually loose skin, so no amount of fat loss is going to fix how that looks. I have also been self-conscious about my arms since I was a teenager and, honestly, they look atrocious now. Huge, half-empty "bat wings" that don't fit into the sleeves of tops that otherwise fit me, and tops that accommodate my arms are 2-3 sizes too big everywhere else Sad

I have vowed not to make any decisions for a year because I know it can take time for things to settle after significant weight loss but if I'm still as unhappy next summer, I'm going to look at surgical options.

sillysausage92 · 09/05/2024 12:15

I've been on Wegovy 8 months and now at my goal weight - been at goal for the last 6 weeks or so. I had some doses left so have been having 0.5mg every 10 days or so to help with my appetite. I can feel the sugar cravings coming back though Sad I have joined the gym and started exercising 3 times per week with a combination of weights and cardio. I am trying to eat healthy but also allow myself the odd treat as this is something I want to do to try and maintain my weight.

Has anyone else got to goal and how was coming off the Wegovy completely?

I am weighing myself every few days to keep me in check as terrified of creeping up. I hover around the same 3lbs up or down around my goal.

CoolShoeshine · 10/05/2024 16:39

Very jealous and full of admiration for all of you who have lost so much weight!
Apologies if this has been asked 1000x before but where can you get the best price on the 2.4 dose? Everywhere seems to charge around £250!

amusedbush · 11/05/2024 12:18

@sillysausage92 I have made a spreadsheet (because that's my answer to everything in life 😅) for my maintenance dosing plan, as I'm nearing goal but I'm not willing to come off Wegovy until I absolutely have to. It's too expensive to stay on 2.4mg per week indefinitely so my plan is to split a 2.4 pen into 6 or 8 weekly doses.

@CoolShoeshine I pay £245 a month using Pharmacy2U's 10% discount codes and that's on the cheaper side. I also managed to get an additional £15 cashback a couple of times through Top Cashback but I had to chase them for it last time. They did honour the payment but then immediately updated their terms and conditions to exclude Wegovy from cashback 😒 since Mounjaro launched I have been receiving emails from various reputable companies offering 10 or 15% off Wegovy, so hopefully the competition brings the price down a bit.

amusedbush · 11/05/2024 12:32

Well, I started Wegovy 27 weeks ago because we had just booked my lifelong dream trip to Japan and it felt like a do-or-die moment. I have spent my whole life fat and uncomfortable, and it has weighed heavily (pun intended) on every previous holiday where I have been sweaty, sore, and self-conscious.

We fly out tomorrow and I couldn't be happier with my results. I didn't lose an ounce this week but I can't exactly complain about that 😅

Highest weight: 18st 5
Started Wegovy: 14st 11
Current weight: 10st 3

And since starting Wegovy:

Bust: -24cm
Waist: -31cm
Hips: -29cm
R Thigh: -16cm

Those numbers are crazy and, honestly, hard for me to visualise. I'm so grateful for this medication, and to all of you on this thread ❤

AhBiscuits · 11/05/2024 16:57

Well done @amusedbush , that's amazing.
Wegovy really is a life changing drug.

This is fabulous! I really should start taking measurements...

justsaxy · 11/05/2024 22:33

I have a meeting with my endocrinologist on Tuesday and I am pretty sure she is going to move me from Saxenda to Wegovy, as it has just been approved here by insurance and these are our only two options. Saxenda is difficult to get hold of... not sure how I feel about it, I have been fine on Saxenda, no side effects and have been taking it slow with upping doses...

But this thread is so helpful!

rosiebutterfly · 01/06/2024 11:16

Hi all,

Ive been one of the unfortunate ones for very slow losses- half a stone down since January and this week I started the 2.4mg dose but I have been absolutely struck by side effects.
it is super strange as up until 1.7mg I barely had any - slight feelings of sickness that just passed pretty quickly but I have been bed bound vomiting on the 2.4mg the past two days I can’t do anything it’s like the worst stomach bug of my life.
Does anyone know where I can get additional needles which fit the wegovy pen and what spec I’d need so I can split the dosage and does anyone know how many clicks would be 1.7mg on a 2.4mg pen, I am gutted as I was hoping to see better results on 2.4mg but my body cannot tolerate it at all; I’m praying the feeling passes I’ve never felt this ill before since I had HG while I was pregnant!
