Weight loss for greedy fuckers

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 08:05

Hello, I'm starting a diet today.

The reason that I am fat is I am a greedy fucker with no self control. I massively over eat sweet things, mainly chocolate and cake. I have no cut off point unfortunately.

Just weighed myself and I am 11st 2.5lbs. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and every pound shows and hangs off my stomach and back.

Anyone care to join me?

I am also a short greedy pig 🙋‍♀️I’d like to be able to say that most of it is leftover baby weight but at 11.10 I am actually only a stone heavier than I was pre baby so it really is just all crisps…

I’m only 5’1 so as I’m sure you can imagine it shows in EVERYTHING I wear and beyond that I just feel really awful most of the time. My knees hurt, my joints ache and I have no energy or stamina.

I’ve been doing loads of walking with the pram for the last nine months and I even started a step class at the gym which made no difference except increase the pain in my knees so, again, it’s clearly all food related.

I was at my happiest when I was around 7 and a half stone but for obvious reasons that will never happen again. At the moment I think I’d be chuffed if I could get down to about 9 stone (ironically I felt very fat when I was 9 stone - oh how times change).

I’m currently just not buying any junk because I have zero willpower and if it’s in the house I will eat it until it’s gone. What are your plans?

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 09:38

Hello QuirkyRobin, my plan is to stop eating junk all day long. I won't be buying any thing bad so it won't be in the house as I can't be trusted.

Just want to get back to normal eating, three meals a day.

Yeh I also need to cut back on the snacking. I find breakfast makes me ravenous though so I need to find something quick and easy that will keep me full til lunch time. I am also worried that when I go back to work in September I will feel too tired and lazy to cook proper food in the evening.

Hartleyhare1206 · 19/08/2023 14:09

OMG me!!! You are my people 😂😂

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 19:37

Hello @Hartleyhare1206

What is you approach going to be.

I've not been too bad today, I'm going to really try and make a big effort. So fed up with being lardy. I need to take action before all the winter comfort food sets in 😁

Hi @Choupette7 !

well I started a few weeks ago and so far have lost just over 10lbs, however have another two stone to go ideally - even just another stone would be great though.

However we’ve been on annual leave for the last week and all my good intentions went out the window and my old habits were back in a flash. Went on holiday and ate out/snacked way too much. Trying so hard to be a grown up now and draw a line under it and get back on the waggon, rather than thinking “fuck it, it’s ruined now so why’s the point” and just continue to eat shit non stop.
I basically fast/16:8 and have lunch and dinner. Focus on protein and whole grain carbs and low sugar. Tend to stick to something like this:

L - 1pm approx - added protein sandwich thin with roast chicken, salad and humous. Hard boiled egg and raw veggie sticks. Possibly a small bag of lower cal crisps. Greek yog with berries and a teaspoon of chopped nuts or seeds

D - approx 7pm - whole grain pasta/rice with some kind of protein and home made veg sauce and salad. Or maybe a flatbread with halloumi and roasted veg

S - a small bar of dark choc and a coffee - usually about 8.30pm - I find having this to look forward to, keeps me motivated and stops me caving and eating other crap!

usually aim for about 1400 cals a day and try and walk everywhere that I can/walk the dog.

working slowly (or was anyway!) but I’m 41 and peri, and noticed a big difference in my ability to lose weight. A few years ago it would have fallen off quite easily, now it’s a real effort. Serves me right for being a greedy bitch I guess! 😜😜😜

Hartleyhare1206 · 19/08/2023 19:53

Like @QuirkyRobin I don’t find breakfast especially helpful!

And like yourself, I want to get a grip on this before the winter food appears!

Trouble is I just love food 🤦‍♀️

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 20:03

@Hartleyhare1206 I love food too, I'm not even hungry and still stuff my face with copious amounts of chocolate and cake. I'm so addicted to sugar.

I am hoping to just stop mindlessly eating junk that makes me fat and just concentrate on healthy meal choices. To be honest I don't overeat too much savoury food, I'm a total twat when it comes to sugar.

Today I put the recycling out and I was very embarrassed with its contents. So many ice cream boxes, the three packs of Aldi fake Magnums. I even shocked myself 🤣

So I don’t need to lose weight (long story short: was obese, got sick, lost a stupid amount of weight), BUT! I have to seriously improve my diet! It’s a lot better than it was before I got sick, cos it has to be, but I still eat too much chocolate (I’m technically not supposed to have any, let alone two family sized bars a day), and it stops me eating the healthy things I SHOULD be eating. Can’t just eat both as have a seriously limited amount of food consumption (health issues). I have no will power though! Tried not having it in the house, and ended up using one of those deliver-within-an-hour-but-costs-loads grocery delivery services for an emergency chocolate delivery after Dd had gone to bed. It’s very embarrassing to admit! I’m seriously contemplating hypnotherapy as I just can’t seem to stop myself, and it’s negatively impacting my health.

Hartleyhare1206 · 19/08/2023 20:38

@AllTheChaos that sounds rough….

if it makes you feel any better, whilst I haven’t ordered an emergency chocolate delivery, I have been known to keep it hidden all over the house in places my family wouldn’t look, and literally sit and inhale vast quantities of it in secret.

it’s so hard to break isn’t it?

TheBeautifulTeapot · 19/08/2023 20:39

I'm in too please! 🙋‍♀️

I've done nothing but stuff my face all summer and I'm feeling so bloated and sluggish.

It was my birthday last week so that's escalated the indulgence. I'm not even really enjoying it anymore.

I've stopped my usual 10,000 steps a day and have missed gym work outs too over the past month. I definitely need to reinstate these consistently as they make such a difference to how I feel.

I'll weigh in tomorrow. @Choupette7 I'm the same height so even putting a few pounds on makes a difference to how my clothes fit.

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 20:44

Hello @TheBeautifulTeapot, so glad that you are joining us.

I hope that your weigh in tomorrow isn't too traumatic!

I too have got to the stage where I'm not really enjoying the junk that I am eating. I don't appear to have an off switch but I need to find it pretty damn quick.

Hi @AllTheChaos sorry that you are going through this. Together we can all make changes, even tiny changes will all add up.

I joined a personal trainer led gym and they got me lifting weights and I also do YouTube mini band workouts. The weight just fell off and I went from 11 stone 12 to 9 stone in 3 months.

GemGi · 19/08/2023 21:02

Hi! Can I come on the journey with you all too please?
I gave birth 5months ago. I'm 31, weigh 100kg at 5'4 😞 I was overweight when I conceived and although it is a truly wonderful blessing to have a baby, I was really hoping to lose weight before getting pregnant. Anyway, now with a little baby, I struggle to find the energy to cook healthily (or at all) and just order food in which has contributed hugely to my weight gain.

I think I will need to start with food and my exercise will need to be walking for now. Since birth I've developed incontinence and have been advised not to lift heavy, jump, run etc until I strengthen my pelvic floor. My back is also really painful and I find it hard to bend and it hurts to sit because my coccyx got displaced a little - phew! Before the pandemic I was 60kg so would love to get back down to that.

Sssudio · 19/08/2023 21:04

Yes please. Although after tomorrow as havé day trip to the seaside and then family tea and cake.

I’m 5ft 7 and 13.5 stone. A few years ago I was 10st 10 and looked and felt so much better. I’m in crap health and physical shape too, going through the menopause and so so much harder to lose weight.

Went shopping today and was v desired as everything looked awful, and it will until I’m slimmer

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 21:07

Welcome @GemGi congratulations on your new baby. My three are grown up now. What I wouldn't give to go back to having a tiny baby.

Go easy on yourself, five months is no time. You will get back to being you.

I love lifting weights. So good, physically and psychologically 💪

AnneElliott · 19/08/2023 21:11

I'd love to join too op. I also overeat massively with sweet stuff - I just don't seem to have an off switch! So I probably need to drop all sugar rather than try and cut down.

I'm 5'8 and nearly 16 stone.
