Weight loss for greedy fuckers

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 08:05

Hello, I'm starting a diet today.

The reason that I am fat is I am a greedy fucker with no self control. I massively over eat sweet things, mainly chocolate and cake. I have no cut off point unfortunately.

Just weighed myself and I am 11st 2.5lbs. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and every pound shows and hangs off my stomach and back.

Anyone care to join me?

I had a Miller and Carter with DD to celebrate her exam results from last week. Lettuce wedge, 7oz rump steak and chips. No pudding. No alcohol. It was my one meal of the day and I didn't have it until 3pm.

I did have 2 rice cakes (finishing the last of them) at 8pm.

With plenty of walking around the shops before and after.

Tomorrow is a mad rushing around day as I get all my last minute things done before I go away on a friends holiday.

This thread has prompted me to properly measure what I’m eating and have adjusted my portion sizes (gosh 75g of pasta isn’t that much) have lost a lb since Monday - only 13 more to go!

TheBeautifulTeapot · 25/08/2023 09:23

Well done all! ⭐️

Givealittlebit · 25/08/2023 20:46

Ok feeling marginally better about today! Still snacking on treats but chose a grilled chicken burger at dinner and hit my 10k steps!
I'd got out the pool with the baby before the rest of the family and rather than just sitting in the sun whilst she napped I put headphones on with a podcast and did some laps around the pool building to get some steps in'

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/08/2023 21:28

Lunch here was half a carton of butternut squash soup at 90 cals.

Dinner was most of a romaine lettuce with 3 rashers bacon cooked til crispy in the air fryer and snipped over it. With honey mustard (low cal) dressing. Inspired by the lettuce wedges you get at miller and Carter! Worked out at less than 400 cals for the bowl and was delicious. Could totally see me taking that for work lunches!

I did then make up the rest of my daily cals with some home made pastry thing before anyone worries I'm starving myself.....and walked a lot of steps around various shops today.

Now in bed as flying at 7am for 5 boozy nights with friends. Luckily I dont like most alcohol and am a lightweight so won't drink that much.

Amethyst2023 · 26/08/2023 11:14

I’ve lost 10 pounds!
still 3-4 more stone to go so quite a lot too lose still but getting there!
I haven’t really changed too much other than eating less and being really busy!

MenoFattie · 26/08/2023 11:48

More wine last night, must do better!

Weightsquestion · 26/08/2023 13:16

10lb wow!
I've exercised every day this week apart from one, I've done weights, gym, running, resistance exercises and just done a 5 mile bike ride. Really pleased with myself.
2lb down and had a few treats.

lurchermummy · 26/08/2023 14:08

I
Am 5'4 and weigh 15 stone, am also greet fucker. But I walk a lot, go to the gym, lift weights, and feel fit. Weight is just a number.

Carrotcake85 · 27/08/2023 09:04

@Amethyst2023 wow, that's brilliant , well done!
I've lost 3 pounds since last Monday so I'm happy with that.
Last night I went for dinner and cocktails and had the chicken burger and chips and about 4 cocktails. I hadn't eaten much earlier in the day as I knew I would be going out for a big dinner.
Weighed myself this morning to see the damage and I've only put on a quarter of a pound.
So going to keep on going.

Sundays are a particularly hard day to eat well, last Sunday night I got a Chinese and a sharing bar of chocolate. Definitely not doing that today.

Will have a fry up this morning and something small later.
I would absolutely love to lose another 3 pounds by next Sunday, as I won't have seen that number on the scales in such a long time!
Hope everyone has a good day, you all seem to be really trying .
Don't know what it is but something has clicked in me this time and I really want to keep it up.
Also I'm so bored of trying to lose the weight, I can't wait to get down to my target weight and then forget about the whole losing weight thing forever and the mental energy that goes into it.

Once I get to my target weight, I won't ever allow myself to get to my current weight again, I will just monitor it , if I go up a few pounds, that's no big deal. But I just don't want to have to go through this losing a stone and a half weight process ever again.
I'm 42 and it's soooo hard to lose the weight at my age.

The annoying thing is if I ate whatever I wanted today , burger, chips, cake , chocolate, full fat coke, I could easily put that 3 pounds on by tomorrow morning. Something that has taken me a week to lose could be put back on in one day. Life isn't fair 😭

TheBeautifulTeapot · 27/08/2023 18:40

I've been away with my DH this weekend for a special trip, so I didn't hold back on the food and drinks! 🐖😂

However, I did continue to make sure I walked lots and I've had a light dinner this evening to try and provide some level of balance.

Again, I think the thing I'm trying to be mindful of is to just continue on trying to eat well rather than activating the "fuck it" mode.

TheBeautifulTeapot · 27/08/2023 18:40

Well done on the losses and general mindset victories

Hyppogriff · 27/08/2023 20:02

I feel like I may have found my people!!
im so greedy - I love food and don’t want to lose that but I’ve recently developed such a fuck it mentality like I don’t care about myself or my weight and have skyrocketed to above 12st whereas before kids I was 10 or below. I’m fed up for good of being a blob and just want clothes to fit and to feel lighted but at 37 it’s just not as easy as it was to lose !! Goal is just under 10st. Here we go!

Weightsquestion · 27/08/2023 21:46

Well done everyone! Let's keep going!!

BorneoBound · 27/08/2023 22:17

I went to a food festival today and I didn't cave! Even when the rest of the family got Nutella and biscoff crepes. So proud of myself. Yesterday I ventured slightly from diet rules but I did have a medical appointment and it was a reward for making it through. I've lost 3lb since Tuesday! Feeling ready to take on the week

PaminaMozart · 27/08/2023 22:34

Remember, the key is to wean yourself off the sugar and UPF 🤓

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/08/2023 22:46

Food is fine here. But cocktails and karaoke are not v diet friendly.
Friday is back to work and massive return to routine. And diet.

Hyppogriff · 28/08/2023 07:58

Well done @BorneoBound !
I managed to avoid pud at a bbq so I’ll take that though I did eat the savoury food (but no crisps!) and made myself do a 5m run in the morning and a mile walk in the evening . We won’t talk about the 4 glasses of wine wt the bbq!!!

I think the key is to follow the eating and movement plan that works for you and fits with your life/family etc.

We're not being prescriptive here. This group is for everyone.

Agreed - but many people on this thread are clearly struggling!

Sugar and UPF assault our taste buds and are highly addictive. Cutting the sugar makes healthy eating sooooo much easier.

It is a process of learning to appreciate the more subtle flavours of vegetables and other real, unadulterated foods.

I am putting this out there because I found it truly life- changing.

Quitelikeit · 28/08/2023 09:23

Eat more green veg, sides of broccoli or green beans, eggs and chicken breasts are your friend

as are stir fry’s and low cal bags of pop corn and rice cakes!

Tuna/ham/crab sticks

What size are you @Choupette7 i am the same height as you and weight 11st 6-9lbs depending on the day!

stayclosetoyourself · 28/08/2023 10:32

I've managed to lose a few pounds in the first week!! Was so hungry yesterday !!
Things I've personally found useful so far
Tesco minestrone cup a soup 82 calls
Skinny rosemary crackers
A banana every morning for breakfast
clear teas
I've frozen a few portions of veggie chilli- no rice for after work
No bread
My middle feels less bloated thank goodness but a long way to go
Am using Noom

stayclosetoyourself · 28/08/2023 10:36

Also not to stop now as I feel a bit lighter. Whatever I'm doing it's going at least in the right direction I JUST NEED TO KEEP DOING IT !!
( sorry for shouting😂)
