Weight loss for greedy fuckers

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 08:05

Hello, I'm starting a diet today.

The reason that I am fat is I am a greedy fucker with no self control. I massively over eat sweet things, mainly chocolate and cake. I have no cut off point unfortunately.

Just weighed myself and I am 11st 2.5lbs. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and every pound shows and hangs off my stomach and back.

Anyone care to join me?

Hi @Sssudio sorry your health is t great at the moment.

A day at the seaside sounds great. Eat as much as you want tomorrow and enjoy your day. Fresh start on Monday.

Hi @AnneElliott I am going to try and ditch sweet thing's completely. I can't have anything in the house as there is no way that I can just have one biscuit or one ice. I just keep going until I've eaten it all and then just replace the following day, rinse and repeat.

I agrée @Choupette7 - i am exactly the same. For some reason I can't just have a small but or 1 biscuit. My son eats 1 finger of a KitKat and puts the other one back Shock

TheBeautifulTeapot · 20/08/2023 08:07

Right you lovely lot.

I weighed in this morning at 65.7kg.

I was 63.7kg at the start of the summer holidays 😭.

We've got a day out at a theme park today so hopefully lots of walking and avoiding too much ice cream 😂 🐽

The only way is down from here (I know that's not true).

Hope everyone has a good sunny Sunday

Choupette7 · 20/08/2023 08:40

Morning all, it looks to be a lovely sunny day where I am.

My plan for today is to not eat anything sweet and be good with portion sizes.

I will be sorting the garden out and possibly clean some windows to get a bit of exercise.

Enjoy your day out @TheBeautifulTeapot

Please can I join all you Greedy Fuckers?! My username says it all. Didn’t used to have a sweet tooth until I hit menopause and now…oh my. I can’t just eat one or two biscuits or chocolates but keep returning to the kitchen compulsively until they’re gone. I’m an emotional eater and have a really stressful senior management job and sugar has become my go-to lifesaver.

I don’t know what I weigh right now but I had a routine health check at my surgery a few months ago and was almost 13 stone. A few years ago, 10 and a half would be my heaviest.

I need willpower and I need not to have it in the house. I’m going to ignore the toblerone in the cupboard and encourage my DC and DH to eat the sweet stuff pronto and then Have Nothing Sweet In The House. And I am going to walk minimum 10k steps each day and get myself a PT. I’m in!

hylian · 20/08/2023 09:10

If you like food a lot then a good way to do it is to stick to your three meals but make sure they are proper meals which you enjoy, fill you up and satisfy you.

Don't have ready meals or anything processed and if you use things like dairy in your meals, use the full fat versions. And cook your meals from scratch. It will be more satisfying.

Savoury breakfast will keep you full for longer than a sweet breakfast - try to completely avoid sugar in the morning (including fruit).

If you are fully content with the meals you're eating then you won't want to snack as much and overall you will lose weight.

Choupette7 · 20/08/2023 09:13

Hello @MenoFattie

Happy that you are joining us. Good luck.

Morning everyone!

Great to see there’s so many of us working towards the same goal and supporting one another 💪🏻💕

Ive spent the last 24 hours that I’ve been home from holiday deliberating over whether to weigh myself or not. On balance have decided not to as I know I will have regained some of the 10 or so pounds I’d lost and I think it’ll piss me off to see and send me in to “fuck it” mode. Got firmly back on the waggon yesterday and very much hoping that if I get; and stay firmly back on track that my head will be in a better place when I next weigh in and I can stay motivated.

my original motivation for starting to try and lose some weight is an impending wedding (a friend, not me!) and I didn’t want to be a hideous fat blob of a guest! I have brought a gorgeous wrap dress that is quite forgiving and comfortable, but I want to feel a million dollars, not he pulling and tugging at my dress all day feeling self conscious. I was hoping to have lost a stone, or as near as possible by the time I attend the wedding in a couple of weeks (from my starting point at the end of June) and If I can just right the wrongs of last week and knuckle down for the next couple of weeks I won’t be too far off that hopefully.

As I said in my OP, I would like to go on to lose another two stone ideally, so I think once the wedding is over my aim is to continue and lose another stone between then and Christmas if I can.

Sorry for the long and waffly post but I feel better for saying it all out loud - feel like you lovely lot will help me to have some accountability and I’ll be failing you as well as myself if I don’t stick to it!!!

Have a fab (and not too foodie) Sunday everyone! 😊😘

I was trying to do volume eating and it was working OK, but lost my way (again) over the summer (birthday, holidays, days out, new boss anxiety / old boss leaving dos) and need to get back on it..... Got a huge amount to lose too, which feels like it's going to take forever, plus perimeno, on antihistamines and torn my miniscus so can't walk!

Choupette7 · 20/08/2023 11:17

@motherofawhirlwind can I ask what volume eating is please?

Choupette7 · 20/08/2023 11:17

@motherofawhirlwind can I ask what volume eating is please?

Basically high volume, high protein, low calorie, so tonnes of salad and veg with proteins, soups, stir fries but limit the carbs.

I can't be doing with teeny portions or feeling hungry. I aim for 100g protein at the very least.

It's been a change of mindset. So rather than, say, sausages, mash and peas, I do a sausage salad bowl with a few new potatoes mixed in. Caesar salad with steak strips (rather than steak and chips). Fajitas become fajita bowls. Lots of Buddha bowls for lunch. Less pasta, add veg to the sauce, and add a salad.

It's probably what others do anyway and not thinking like this is the reason I have got so huge... Confused

Choupette7 · 20/08/2023 12:00

Thanks for explanationning @motherofawhirlwind. It makes complete sense to me so will be adopting this approach.

Thanks!

I’ve managed to avoid a glass of wine in the pub so far today, and will give the Lindor balls a miss with coffee later. DH knows they’re my favourite chocs and bought me a huge picknmix bag.

Planning to weigh myself this week for the horrible truth about my weight, then I can use this thread to keep myself accountable to myself.

QuirkyRobin · 20/08/2023 15:09

@Hartleyhare1206 wedding season over here too! I’m a bridesmaid next May and I’m desperate to look and feel less lardy by then 🤞 not just because I want to feel nice in my dress but also because the thought of being in wedding photos looking like I do right now is mortifying!!

This weekend has been a bit of a bust for me - had a children’s birthday party which meant I’ve eaten cake and delicious snacks when I should have just eaten a sandwich and the salad 👀

TheBeautifulTeapot · 20/08/2023 17:28

Really nice to read everyone's motivations and mindsets.

We've just stopped for a Burger King on our way back from our day out 😬. Not ideal! 😂 However, I've walked a lot and I'm probably within TDEE for the day.

Need to not listen to the internal voice urging me to dig into the leftover birthday cake when we get home! This thread will help keep me accountable I think 🤞🏻

TheBeautifulTeapot · 20/08/2023 18:16

Update: it didn't!!! 😂😂😂
However, I'm stopping at one slice of cake!

flexigirl · 20/08/2023 18:35

I'm a fat greedy bastard also. 4'11" and WAS 18 stone 6 at the beginning of the year but am now 12 stone 12lb I've a long way to go and am still classed as morbidly obese on those bloody BMI charts . I've lost a bit of motivation so would love to join you all if that's ok 👌

Sssudio · 20/08/2023 18:47

Woke up with migraine this morning, missed day out to seaside and whilst I did make a healthy lunch on the whole have eaten rubbish as I always do.

Still feeling rough now so DH coming tea, will try and meal plan later and put ocado shop together so I've got quick/easy foods and snacks

I didn’t resist the Lindor balls either but stopped at two, usually I’d have guzzled at least six.

Going to clean my teeth after dinner and drink herbal tea to distract me from thinking about chocolate. I need to get a fricking grip on myself and am very glad this thread is helping me do this.

Let’s all resist the urge to nibble all evening starting from now 🤞

TheBeautifulTeapot · 20/08/2023 20:32

@flexigirl that's an incredible loss so far! You must have worked really hard to achieve that.

@MenoFattie ha! Fellow nibblers unite. Totally agree that brushing teeth after dinner is a good move.

Hartleyhare1206 · 20/08/2023 20:36

@QuirkyRobin we’re in it together then?! I’m very cross with myself that I left it so late in the day to lose weight before the wedding - don’t get me wrong, I look better now than I did a few weeks ago (and god knows how much extra weight I’d have gained during that time if I was still pigging out!) but I know I should have got a grip sooner and I’d be feeling much better about it all. The fact you have until next May is brilliant and such a great opportunity for you to look and feel how you want to on the big day Stick with us/it and I reckon we will have you upstaging the bride come May! 😜😜😜

@flexigirl wow!!! You have done absolutely amazingly so far and must be SO proud of yourself?! Well done! Any helpful tips you’d like to share?

flexigirl · 20/08/2023 20:56

@TheBeautifulTeapot @Hartleyhare1206 thank you , I've lost it with help from the saxenda injections, which feels somewhat like cheating!
Having said that, they've been life changing for me.
The trouble is, there is none left anywhere in the country to buy as so many of us porkers have given it a go and I'm absolutely terrified of putting the weight back on. My last injection was two days ago and I'm already ravenous ! I even took myself off the waiting list for NHS weight loss surgery and sort of regretting it now ( although I'd love to avoid needing it ) I made shortbread today, it was fucking delicious 🤤 😂😂

PaminaMozart · 20/08/2023 21:20

My way of dieting without actually dieting...

IF - 16:8
No UPF or sugar/artificial sweeteners and (virtually) no alcohol
Eat food, not too much, mostly plants
Plus moderate amounts of lean protein and healthy fats.
No refined carbs but some complex carbs such as lentils or quinoa

In practice:
Brunch: 2 egg omelette incorporating vegetables OR salad with 2 boiled eggs
Snack: nuts, yoghurt, avocado or fruit
Dinner: chicken or fish plus LOTS of vegetables and a salad

That's it really. Plus resistance based exercise, such as working out with dumbbells, e.g. Caroline Girvan. Not for losing weight as such, but to stay motivated and healthy.
