Weight loss for greedy fuckers

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 08:05

Hello, I'm starting a diet today.

The reason that I am fat is I am a greedy fucker with no self control. I massively over eat sweet things, mainly chocolate and cake. I have no cut off point unfortunately.

Just weighed myself and I am 11st 2.5lbs. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and every pound shows and hangs off my stomach and back.

Anyone care to join me?

Well, bloody bollocking hell, I wish it had been that easy. :)

Notooserious · 03/09/2023 20:48

@DrMadelineMaxwell who are you telling to fire truck off?! ;-)

Wow @BorneoBound what plan are you following / what’s your secret ?!!

I've been following slimming world, but also doing the 16:8 at the same time. In the month before starting slimming world I was fasting (mix 16:8 / 24 hour / 36 hour) and my weight didn't shift AT ALL but it's really got me out of the habit of eating much until dinner as I'm literally not hungry. I really struggled on slimming world before because I found packed lunches on the plan boring and uninspiring, and I just wanted to eat bread! But now I'm basically snacking on fruit for the afternoon and only having to worry about one meal. The weight is falling off, average 0.6-0.8 lb every day.

Was dieting by eating only when really hungry and then half portions, eating pretty much whatever I liked, but going really steady on wines chocolate and junk etc, and slowly but surely lost a couple of stones of weight. Eased off a bit (of a lot!) this last month - ate a lot of crap, I'm a greedy fucker after all.....and to my delight I have put on just 1lb. So back on the wagon this month.

Had my first weigh in this morning and have lost a pound. Which is great. Next goal: lose another pound. I’m not thinking big picture here, focusing on super tiny goals. Also tried my first chocolate flavour protein bar and if they are all as acceptable as that one, it won’t be a bad two months of breakfasts 🤣

Hyppogriff · 07/09/2023 22:41

Well done everyone !! Sounds like great progress all round !
its waaaaay too hot in london. I’m down 11 pounds since 14 august when I started so I’m chuffed with that!!
lots of fun stuff planned this weekend though so anticipating a small gain over the weekend though will think of this group and try to exercise some small self restraint.
also it’s too hot to exercise in any normal tome of the day (I run usually)
keep going!

Notooserious · 08/09/2023 08:50

well done @Hyppogriff ! I am now down 3 pounds and have stopped snacking - I just look forward to my next massive fake chocolate bar for breakfast 🥳 my husband has also stopped buying himself any snacks or biscuits that I find edible so
rhat helps the 2am face stuffing urge.

Yarsvi · 08/09/2023 13:42

Hope everyone is doing well.
Hyppogriff, I too have lost 11 pounds over last few weeks and I am pleased with that. The hot weather definitely curbs my appetite. I'll find it harder to resist the stews, pies and puddings once the weather turns colder!

BorneoBound · 08/09/2023 17:26

Weigh in day today - I've lost 1.5lb this week, 8lb in the past month. I'm really happy (especially as I had three naughty days this week as I was stress eating before an exam!).

Next challenge - I am watching the rugby tonight and tomorrow with other people. Watching sport without snacks seems like an alien concept! Going to stop and get some grapes to snack on instead......hopefully I can avoid the pringles during the same shop!

TheBeautifulTeapot · 08/09/2023 17:40

Some great losses! Well done!! 🙌

chatchatrabbitrabbit · 10/09/2023 09:17

We're hosting a bbq today. OMG the food we have is fab, but it's mostly carbs (alongside the meat). I can't touch it because once I have 1 mouthful I just won't stop. I'm not undoing all my hardwork to date. Hopefully people won't notice that I'm only having the meat. There is also cake too. Again, I can't touch this. I'm all or nothing. Today is going to be v hard to resist l

Hello all. Can I join? I lost 2 stone (almost) in covid lockdown 1 & 2, and then I’ve regained it all! So here I am, back where I started. No clothes fit and I’m short (5ft 1) and all the weight just piles onto my stomach and bust. I know once I’m in the headspace I’ve got a lot of motivation, so hence me joining here and trying to get ‘in the zone’! Did a bit of batch cooking on Friday, got some more mini food tubs coming today so will think of something else to cook this week. I find being prepared is a big help as often after a busy day working I CBA cooking.

Plan is to lose 1 stone and review. My weight dropped too low last time and it aged me a lot, so don’t want to lose too much, but need to do something about my stomach. I walk a lot, in a ladies walking group, and I want to get back to the YouTube work outs I did in lockdown.

My downfall is also sugar. I am addicted to Oppo ice cream, which isn’t that bad but I eat too much. Love chocolate. I socialise quite a lot now my kids are older so meals out can be a problem, but I refuse to not live my life so I’m going to have to work about that and make better choices, or suggest something that doesn’t include food!

BorneoBound · 16/09/2023 03:41

Welcome @Zanatdy! Is it bad that I read your post and all I can think about is that I've never had oppo ice cream?

How has everyone's week been? I lost 2lb at weigh in yesterday 👍 holiday is a few weeks away and I'm on track to hit target by then. I'm actually craving chocolate less and less these days. Feel like I'm actually cracking it

Zanatdy · 16/09/2023 08:50

Haha @BorneoBound you’ve got to try it. I love the salted caramel but the pecan one and cookie dough one are good too. I need to wean off them but they are on offer at the moment, haha.

My week wasn’t bad as first week back on it. No meals out this week which is my usual downfall but next week I’ve got a pre theatre dinner. Hopefully can choose before I get there and go for something not too calorific. Meant to be going to a party tonight but not feeling 100% so will decide later. Not weighed for a few days, will tomorrow though and take some measurements to compare to last. Hopefully I can be stricter next week bar then meal out!

PaminaMozart · 16/09/2023 08:58

For the sugar addicts - read The Sugar Solution by Dr Mark Hyman. A real eye-opener!

Dr Becky Gillaspy has lots of short but very informative and helpful videos about cutting out sugar, for instance:

BorneoBound · 06/10/2023 09:43

Just wanted to update as I'm so excited - I reached target today! 1 stone lost since mid August. Going on holiday next week 🤦‍♀️ hate to think of how much I'm going to put back on!

chatchatrabbitrabbit · 07/10/2023 10:33

@BorneoBound when I went away this year I had all the wine i wanted. No creamy cocktails. No starter or dessert. No ice cream. I still felt like I enjoyed myself. I also swam lots and kept moving in the pool if not swimming
