Weight loss for greedy fuckers

Choupette7 · 19/08/2023 08:05

Hello, I'm starting a diet today.

The reason that I am fat is I am a greedy fucker with no self control. I massively over eat sweet things, mainly chocolate and cake. I have no cut off point unfortunately.

Just weighed myself and I am 11st 2.5lbs. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and every pound shows and hangs off my stomach and back.

Anyone care to join me?

I like the flat tyre image too!

I’m at a work conference for two days and used the hotel pool this morning at 7am, did 25 laps!
I’m avoiding the biscuits and cakes everywhere but think I’ll crack at dinner - there’s going to be lots of wine. This is my weakness especially in a social setting.

Totally agree with a pp about small decisions made every day that slowly make a difference. I’m not in a big rush to lose weight and it’s more about changing my mindset and relationship with food.

stayclosetoyourself · 23/08/2023 15:01

Haha this tithe made me laugh!!
I love food and just seem to keep eating it! Even worse it's healthy most of the time so I must be eating quite a bit- often toast etc!
Pls can I join. I need to lose 2 stones.

Hippyhippybake · 23/08/2023 15:03

I’m a greedy fucker too, think about food nonstop and absolutely love cooking, especially baking. I need to lose a stone and would love to join.

TheBeautifulTeapot · 23/08/2023 15:08

Welcome new joiners. The more the merrier!

Weightsquestion · 23/08/2023 15:13

I've realised this time of day is my danger time, cuppa and biscuits or chocolate then it's a slippery slope! Need to think of a healthy snack I can have instead. I have had apple with peanut butter before although I probably have too much peanut butter cos I love it!

Make sure you're all drinking lots of water!

Hippyhippybake · 23/08/2023 15:15

Yes I think I need to start with a food app as I think my calorie counting efforts are somewhat over optimistic. Is there one that people recommend? I cook pretty much everything from scratch and the apps that I’ve looked at seem to mostly rely on inputting branded foods to calculate the calories.

Weightsquestion · 23/08/2023 15:17

Nutracheck is good

Hippyhippybake · 23/08/2023 15:42

Thanks - it does look good!

Ibizafun · 23/08/2023 16:06

Massive greedy fucker here too. Breakfast opens the floodgates for my my appetite so it helps massively if I don't have it.. I work out instead.

I snack all day from boredom not hunger when I'm in. So much better when I'm out and busy.

Yarsvi · 23/08/2023 20:07

Glad to see people having small triumphs, well done. I have managed to stick religiously to my Fast 800 diet since Monday. I am absolutely ravenous this evening but I'm going to make a cup of tea and try to ride out the wave of starvation!!

Carrotcake85 · 23/08/2023 21:07

@Hartleyhare1206 thanks, that analogy really stuck with me as well! I am in a not very good habit of weighing myself everyday, I know that's a bit ludicrous and it's just become a bad habit and it's also a control thing. But I def don't recommend weighing yourself everyday, i wish I could do it just twice a week

Weightsquestion · 23/08/2023 21:15

Carrotcake I weigh every day too, its just a part of my routine before getting in the shower but I know it's not helpful.
I went to the gym last night, first time in about 6 weeks, felt great afterwards!
Would love to have a PT but can't afford it and it's a very basic gym and they don't do inductions which is annoying.

BorneoBound · 23/08/2023 21:41

I've had a good couple of days - I'm following slimming world rules and not fallen off the wagon. I'm back in work tomorrow so might be a bit trickier

Weightsquestion · 23/08/2023 21:42

What are the slimming world rules?

Givealittlebit · 23/08/2023 22:38

Arghh I've no willpower at all! Just can't seem to tame the snacking. I'd list what I've smacked on today but it's quite revolting.
Son wanted McDonald's for lunch (Pokemon fanatic!) but I at least had a wrap meal instead of a burger 🤦🏻‍♀️
Looking forward to schools going back as I think it will help me form a better routine, and give me the freedom to start getting more steps in

Carrotcake85 · 23/08/2023 23:04

@Weightsquestion that makes me feel a bit better that you weigh yourself everyday as well. It is part of my routine as well, the scales are staring at me when I walk into the bathroom, it's hard not to go on them, although if I've had a really bad pig out day before then I know not to go on them and leave it a day or 2.
Today wasn't so good compared to last 2 days but still good.
I had about 1900 cals and 9,104 steps.
I was out at a family fun day today and there were burger vans and the smell of the burgers and the fried onions was so tempting but I managed not to. The old me would have definitely got one.
I also buy my son these chocolate chip brioches but need to stop as they are a trigger food for me as they have chocolate in them . I've had 3 today already!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 23/08/2023 23:33

Dinner for today was half a carton of butternut squash soup with a bread roll. Only one, normally I'd want 2, but it was q big. I sliced it into 3 slices so it felt like more bread. :)

Lunch was some rice cakes (the ones with a bit of chocolate on). They are def one of the foods I can not really afford to buy because if they are there I will eat them. And go back for more. The Sainsbury ones are sold in packs of 4, which are 2 packs of two. Yay, I thought. Portion control.

No. I still can't stop at one pack of 2 so they are not going in my basket again. So I made it my lunch which was ok cal wise, but again low on the fruit and veg for the day.

I am completely in holiday mode currently. Away with friends for 5 nights from Sat so that will be a diet disaster, esp with the alcohol. But then a hard return to my routine and back at work which will be a Good Thing by that point.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 23/08/2023 23:39

I weigh daily. My Sept plan is v clear, once I've enjoyed these last days of my hols.

No breakfast (cba mostly!)
I get my first cuppa when I get to work to extend my fast by another hour.

Noone snacks at my work in the morning unless it is a piece of fruit. Usually I'm too busy sorting my next lesson or on duty etc anyway.

Lunch is a quick affair so I take the same thing daily. A thin with philly and fruit, or a salad and fruit. Mon is a meeting lunch too, so food not the priority.

Dinner is varied and I need to meal plan.
And I want to make a decision of things to do in evenings to avoid snacking.
Mondays I have a zumba gold class (gold as lower intensity while I start to get back my fitness level)
Most Tuesday's I go to a quiz with friends and that helps avoid snacking.
Every other week I go out for dinner with a friend for an evening but there's never pudding or alcohol.

Mostly my downfall is seconds and bad meal choices due to lack of planning.

PaminaMozart · 24/08/2023 06:13

Would love to have a PT but can't afford it and it's a very basic gym and they don't do inductions which is annoying.

You don't need a PT,@Weightsquestion . Check out Caroline Girvan and stick with her.

And eat real, healthy food, ie a Mediterranean type diet. Coupled with intermittent fasting.

It may take a while, but it's a sustainable way of eating that takes much less willpower than any other 'diet'.

Weightsquestion · 24/08/2023 06:42

Thank you I've been looking at her workouts. I just mean someone to help me in the gym really so I know if I'm using the machines right.
So I couldn't sleep, got up and did some weights! Whats wrong with me! Now having a cuppa and cuddling the dog!

Weightsquestion · 24/08/2023 06:43

Yesterday I fasted until 1pm then I had scrambled egg with tomatoes, feta and kimchi and some cold cooked chicken.
Snack banana and peanut butter
Donner - salmon and cous cous with veggies.
40 minute dog walk.

Carrotcake85 · 24/08/2023 10:08

I've lost another pound, yay! I've been eating well the last 3 days and that's usually when I go back to my old habits but determined not to this time. I've also had chocolate and cake this week as well! This thread seems to be really helping with my motivation!

MenoFattie · 24/08/2023 11:07

More laps of the pool this morning but I had to work off the four glasses of wine drunk last night. I’m re-setting myself though today, not going to beat myself up about it, and still avoiding the cakes all around me.

It’s great to hear from other greedy fuckers out there who are making small and big wins! Let’s keep going!

TheBeautifulTeapot · 24/08/2023 12:36

@Carrotcake85 well done.
I think it's brilliant that you've been able to have chocolate and cake this week, without it triggering the "fuck it" binging thoughts.
It's probably the key to long term weight maintenance.

BorneoBound · 24/08/2023 21:49

Had a good day today. The family got a McDonald's for dinner and I had a salad. I've stuck to slimming world all week, and I played just dance with my daughter and got a sweat on. Not feeling overly satisfied, but feel happy with myself 😊
