Nikkid21, I agree with pippy - sometimes after a week like this if you stay on the straight and narrow you can get a really good loss the following week. Do you take measurements to see if you're losing inches? With all the working out you could be toning up and getting leaner without it actually showing on the scales.

Well done kid on the 4lbs too.

I've been really good today. Might have a chinese tonight - something like veg foo young and boiled rice which shouldn't be too many syns on green. Oh...and NO wine!

sugarlumps · 12/03/2008 19:04

nikid i know what you mean about slipping back to when you had an eating disorder, when i was at school i was convinced i was fat! 5, 5 and 9.5 stone....yer right i can see it now i wasnt, but at the time i was huge. so i crash dieted and dropped to just over 8 stone, i was thrilled to bits, but one day my mum came home with a huge bag of mini cheddar crinklys - my favorite at the time i was SCARED to eat them. thats when i realised i had a huge problem.
i think thats why im quite worried about dieting now and if i want something i tend to have it as i know how easy it is to develop an eating dissorder. and when you say your DH is convinced your slipping back he is probably just worried. i know my parents are keeping a very close eye on me with this diet.
i know its hard but keep at it, and at the end of the day its not what other people think that matter. so what if they think your over weight???? its how you feel that counts

OP posts:
SWlurker · 12/03/2008 21:25

Nikid when I got to target (years ago!) I was on right on the border between healthy and fat but it felt right for me, so don't worry about it!

Riallymusttryharder · 12/03/2008 22:27

nikkid I would add if you are comfortable and feel healthy and happy and are fit enough, then I wouldn't be dictated to by a chart. Just outside the recommended range might be just right for you. You've done well to get where you are and it's better to stay there and be happy than put dangerous pressure on yourself. Be happy.

BTW, has anyone seen Claire from Steps in this weeks Woman or Womans Own (I was reading my mums). She's 15 1/2 stone. Now I did go through a phase of wanting to look like one of Steps (one of the others actually) but I never thought it would happen

Riallymusttryharder · 12/03/2008 22:29

Also you could be building muscle which weighs more?

Don't worry about what other people think either, it's you that counts.

sugarlumps · 13/03/2008 08:32

1/4 lb off this week, which im surprised about again as i have been quite naughty! 2lb to go til i get to my 1 1/2 stone so still 9lbs to lose til target! not going to happen by easter now but hey! if i haev a really good week i may manage to get under 11 stone! whoop whoop!
im going to try a lot more veg stirfrys this week as the one i did last nigfht was really really yummy and it curbed my picking!
meal plan for today as im at work for the looooong shift:
brekki: 2 ryvita with cheese spread and cucmber & bannana
mid morning : apple
lunch:quorn kebabs and 2 ryvita
afternoon: mullerlight
tea: the rest of the garlic stir fryed veg with quorn burgers diced over the top.
syns for the day = 1 (if i stick to it)

should i be reducing my syns now i am getting closer to target? my book says something like 15 syns for someone 1 - 3 stones over weight? i may see if i can drop down to 6 - 1 curly wurly lol

nikkid21 · 13/03/2008 09:19

Thanks for all of your kind words. It helps a lot.
I'm going to buy a six week countdown which will take me to my birthday at the end of April. If I don't lose the last half stone it's not the end of the world and i'll know that this is probably the weight that's best for me.

toadette · 13/03/2008 10:08

That's a good idea, nikkid. As you say, you might be at suitable weight for you right now

I have never really understood the number of syns thing. I normally use the full 15 a day (or 105 over the week). Should I be having much less (I have about 8-10lbs to lose?).

Quadrophenia · 13/03/2008 13:10

hello, am back at slimmingworld after a break, lost 1/2 stone in three weeks, then last week put on a pound. have decided i'm not taking it seriously enough, so need to get online, can't remeber this weeks password though, so if anyone can remind me.... mostly at this minute in time I need to know the syn value of a beanburger on green thanks

toadette · 13/03/2008 13:19

The password at class this week was cabbage. What type of beanburger is it Quadrophenia, I can look it up in food directory if that helps?

toadette · 13/03/2008 13:27

Heading out on school run now, spicy bean burger 87.5g from Cauldron foods are 5 each on green. Hth

Quadrophenia · 13/03/2008 15:11

ahh thanks toadette, i fell asleep It was a dalepak crisapy coated type thing, so i suspect its probably quite highyl synned as its got breadcrumbs on it

SWlurker · 13/03/2008 16:07

Oh, I'm having a big rant today! Business lunch out today. Naff all Sw friendly on menu, so decided lesser of the evils would be a greek salad. so it comes... completely coated in oil (should have asked for dressing on the side, I know!) and the most humongous hunks of feta in it. I was going to leave half the cheese but in the end I ate it all, and half the pita bread that came with it (menu didn't mention that!) so feel cheated as I'm pretty sure there would have been the same amount of syns in my colleague's burger and chips and guess which I'd have preferred?!
I'd already had 2 hifi bars so I can count some of the cheese as my 2 A's but the syns will still be through the roof.

I really want a good loss this week but know I need my syns for the weekend and I'm so cross I've wasted a load today because I didn't have a choice. Do you think I should take a guess at the syns and take them out of my 70, or say its flexi/up to 105 syns this week and get on with it but not have such a decent loss? Ooh I'm so annoyed this has come up on the first day!

Riallymusttryharder · 13/03/2008 18:47

I would flexi it lurker, as you say it's the first day of a new week so you have time to get it back to where you want to be. It's not actually your fault so keep your syns for when you'd planned and try to work in some super speed foods where you can. (If it was me in your position I would now be on a spirally binge

I think I have overdone the eggs - DH made me poached eggs on toast for breakfast today and I nearly threw up.

nikkid21 · 13/03/2008 18:54

Got to agree with ria - flexi syn it. TBH i would just write off that meal and have free food only for the rest of the day. Then just start anew tomorrow.

Feeling v lazy food wise today. Am on green so had jacket potato with he of cheese for lunch. dinner is cabbage, carrots and mash covered in a oxo cube worth of gravy. Probably a bit suspect nutritionally but can't be bothered to cook anything else.

Have saved my syns for 1/3 of a bar of green and blacks dark chocolate w ginger.

SWlurker · 14/03/2008 08:43

Thank you both. I was having a blonde moment, it was my second day of the SW week so feel slighty better because I didn't syn the day before.

... Think I will turn into a big block of cheese myself though - I might have had cheddar with my pasta n sauce last night ... oops

Still feeling good about today though! I had leftover pasta and tomato sauce this morning (I know, I'm weird) and I have pasta n sauce for lunch and a tin of spaghetti or a hifi for a snack if I feel the need.

Have a fab slimming day today everyone

sugarlumps · 14/03/2008 09:28

morning girlys! well, i've got another picnic planned today lol(such a success last time and kept callum happy all day i thought i'd do another one)
so its going to be slimming world food all the way! im determined to get under 11 stone this week!!!!!!!
going to make a frittata, pot wedges, quorn sausages and the quorn kebabs, ryvita and cheese spread, carrot sticks and the dip someone mentioned to make out of creme fraich? (looking forward to trying that one)
im going to fill up on lots of quorn and veg.
does anyone have any foods they seem to lose more weight eating?
my weight loss has really slowed down nowand i need to give it a kick start so i dont feel like giving up!!!

OP posts:
SWlurker · 14/03/2008 10:01

Sugar lumps - DON'T USE CREME FRAIS!! Its syns - quite high I think!

I think you meant very low fat fromage frais, but wanted to check

toadette · 14/03/2008 13:27

Don't worry SWlurker, I wobbled a bit yesterday too. Had something on at school in the evening so rushed out to it without having dinner. Had planned to pick up a heathy-ish veg-based Chinese takeaway on way home. Didn't manage to do this so sat snacking all the wrong foods (eg 4 mint Viscount biscuits, I don't even like these so what was I doing?!!!). Also had quite a few ryvita (ok as HEb but spread with loads of hal-fat butter)! Still ok to keep within weekly syns but it will be a squeeze especially if I want a few glasses of wine tomorrow night.

sugarlumps · 15/03/2008 08:16

thanks lurker i did mean fromage frais
well yesterday was good, had all the slimming world picnic food for lunch, and for tea lol and probably lunch again today!
started to repaint my living room yesterday which curbed the picking in the evening, and will do tonight too
fingers crossed i'll see a substantial loss this week!

Hi everyone. Having a terrible week this week! I started work again yesterday and I work in a cafe where I bake all these gorgeous cakes and I had to taste!! I also had 2 scones (unbelievable I know) I don't think I've gone over my sins allowance for the week yet but I'm going for a meal tonight and then still have 3 full days til weigh in!!! Luckily its an italian so if i go green there'l be loads of pasta dishes to choose from. But still!! .

PS U can get a low fat variety of creme fraiche which is half the sins and its lovely in a curry if you like them creamy

Bubbaloo · 15/03/2008 20:48

pippypoppypanda · 16/03/2008 08:10
