oh no poppy said stuff you make cheese cake with. erm what do you make cheesecake with i'm not exactly the budding chef!!

SWlurker · 27/02/2008 08:59

Consultant said same as Poppy. Bit I looked in the book I got last night - so much better than my old one! - and it named most of the cheeses we're talking about by name, so I think that looking in there should sort you out, it didn't say soft or cream cheese (unless I was being blind).

Mascapone and creme frais weren't in there so I don't think they're HEAs. Ricotta is. I'd steer clear of M and CF if I were you or syn them, as theres plenty of alternatives you could use that defo are HE's.

My goodness the class was BRILLIANT last night- can't believe I waited so long to go back to a SW class. I came away V motivated and happy. The consultant was lovely - pity she is leaving next week! Apparently the stand in until they find someone permanent is pretty rubbish, last week she went on about portion control and de-motivated lods of people ?! - but oh well nothing to stop me from going to a different class elsewhere for a few weeks until it settles into hopefully a lovely new consultant. I feel refreshed and back on track and am aiming for as close to 4.5lbs off this week - yes its a big challenge and I'll lbe happy with anything, but it would take me to the next stone which would be FAB!!

SWlurker · 27/02/2008 09:10

Oh, and the password is pilchards (yeuch!)

lumpychump · 27/02/2008 09:54

Hello all

Would anyone mind if I join your thread?? I love SW, have done it (albeit on and off!) for years. I lost 2.5 stone on it back in 2005 and since then have lost and gained the same weight over and over again. I just fall off the "wagon" and fine it so hard to climb back on, this time I'm back to my original weight plus more and I feel very annoyed with myself to say the least.

So I have been trying to get myself motivated for a few weeks and woke up this morning and there it was.

I used to post here before, don't know if you'll remember me.

So here goes!!

Thanks for reading, lumpy

iom08 · 27/02/2008 10:12

Morning all!

Please can I join you? I'm following the SW programme but we don't have a club where I live. I have got all the books but would appreciate some support along the way. Do I have to tell everyone my weight?...God I hope not!! I've always struggled with my weight but put on a shed load when I was pregnant. I have managed to shift some of it but would like to get rid of a whole lot more before getting pregnant with #2. I've been following the thread for a few days and you all seem so lovely and supportive which is why I'd like to join you.

tootiredtothink · 27/02/2008 11:29

Can i join too?? Hoping you will all give me the inspiration i am lacking! Joined SW club last week and actually didn't go to my first weigh in as i had had crap week ! As it was i had lost couple of pounds but have now put that back on!! My weigh in day is Monday so must get a grip! I have 9 stone to lose. Have PCOS and am desperate for baby (very lucky to already have 2). I too put on my weight after 1st child (was a size 12) and have continued with weight gain ever since but any diet i have been on i seem to lose all willpower after a stone !

SWlurker · 27/02/2008 14:48

Hello new people and welcome!

I made an amazing discovery shortly after consultant recomended them last night. The Aldi yoghurts with bits in them. Delish and free, I'm off to stock up tonight so that I can save my morning HEa and b choices because they are just like a muller with cereal mixed in and is V filling (and best of all its cheap! oh and free)

kid · 27/02/2008 16:56

I tend to stock up on things like muller light yoghurts and then decide I don't like them anymore!

I need to get back into it. I have lost 1 stone so far but still have another to go. If I'm not careful, I'll be back to where I started.
I really enjoyed my tuna and spring onion bagel today though!

poppy90 · 27/02/2008 17:27

welcome to you new people Everyone is very supportive here
kid, I do exactly the same!

Sparkler · 27/02/2008 17:28

Hey there you all are! Blimey that thread moved fast.
I've been having an ok week for once. Been sticking to the plan really well for the past three days so hoping for some sort of weight loss.
I really want to get back to the weight I was back at beginning of December as soon as I can. Many pounds have crept back on although not all of them thankfully.
I'm really concentrating on filling out my food diary and try to plan ahead with my evening meals and it seems to be working.
Monday - I had a red day. Had cod fillet with baked tomatoes (recipe in green days book) and it was delicious
Tuesday - Had Quorn chilli with boiled rice. Also really nice and had loads left over which I've frozen for another day.
Today - I'm having SW chips with Quorn Chilli Burgers (also from freen book) with baked beans. Yum.

nappyaddict · 27/02/2008 19:39

Where can i get the slimming world books from if i don't go to a group?

iom08 · 27/02/2008 19:55

Hi Nappyaddict, I got mine from ebay. there is no SW where I live so I had no alternative.

Sparkler · 27/02/2008 20:01

nappyaddict - Do you know anyone that does go to a group? My consultant sells the new member kits for £1.50. Maybe someone could pick one up for you?

nappyaddict · 27/02/2008 21:39

yes i do know someone who has recently joined but would she be able to another new member kit when she's not one iyswim. ebay no good cos i want the new 2008/09 one really.

iom08 · 27/02/2008 22:01

The one I got off Ebay is 2008 one

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 22:24

Hi all - bit slow on the uptake, joined the new thread eventually! Nothing to report here but thought I'd pop in and say hello!

nappyaddict · 27/02/2008 22:41

gosh they are quite expensive on ebay.

iom08 · 27/02/2008 22:51

yep, but then I figured I'm not paying the joining fee or the weekly pay to weigh fee so didn't mind too much

Do you have access to microwave /kettle. You could take super noodle type things in, cup a soup, mug shots...? x

sugarlumps · 28/02/2008 08:18

lol, i have access to fryers too! bad move, im assistant manager in a pub, so im around greesey horrible food all day! which in a way is good because you dont want to eat it so much.
i've become wuite addicted to jumbo snack a jacks with a laughing cow light triangle smothered over it with cucumber and tomato. i think they are one syn each so 2 will do for lunch, and then a savoury rice with bits added for tea im thinking, oh and i mustnt forget the all important curly wurly

SWlurker · 28/02/2008 12:12

mmm sugarlumps you could chat up your chef to get lots of grilled chicken & bacon and have that with a salad, are you allowed perks like food?

nikkid21 · 28/02/2008 14:13

Just catching up so hi to all of the new people. Tootired - I have pcos too and have found that green works best for me. My weightloss is fairly slow and steady but have lost 1st 5lb since end of September.

Weighed in on Tuesday night and had put on 1.5lb. Not as bad as I thought to be honest as was in Rome last week and had a bottle of wine most nights plus lots of pizza, pasta and tiramisu

Have just joined a new gym. Have changed from my local council run one to (much more expensive) Vigin one. I'm hoping that as the surroundings are nicer and there are more classes I will go at least 5 time a week. Has anyone tried bodypump classes ? I usually do spinning but need some muscle toning as well?

nikkid21 · 28/02/2008 14:17

sugarlumps - what about making up a couple of packets of couscous. Mix in some cucumber and tomato and keep it in the fridge at work. Then you can have a bowlful during your teabreaks. Failing that go to m&s and buy a large tub of their ready made fruit salad to pick at.

I have to keep a big tub of something 'free' in the fridge so that I grab a couple of spponfuls of that instead of a choccy biscuit or cake. Basically I fridge raid whenever i'm bored
