Thanks for quark ideas. That's interesting about varying the days, I tend to do mainly green (carb addict!) and eat virtually vegetarian diet because I like to use my HE's on bread and cheese. Might have to organise myself better to include a few red days. Can anyone give me some examples of what they eat on a red day so I have a few ideas to plan around? Thanks.

Hi to nappyneeds and pippypoppypanda, I just joined in with this thread last week.

SWlurker · 11/03/2008 16:11

Hi everyone I haven't said hi to!

Ria - I'd be at 8lbs but 2.5 is fantastic in its own right! ...but I gotta say, after the sausage roll I'be be fuming!!

Be careful today Ria, I used to go to a morning class and you need to remember you can do a lot more damage it "not counting" for the rest of the day than an evening class!

misdee · 11/03/2008 16:18

everyday counts ria.

well i losty 2.5lb last week, which i am pleased about, but it was dd1 birthday at the weekend so am not expecting much this week.

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 16:39

every day does indeed count misdee.

Reading back through some of my posts I'm realise I don't appear to be very dedicated, but I honestly do a lot better by posting on here than I would if I didn't IYSWIM. I am DETERMINED for this time on SW to work, even if it takes slightly longer than it could.

Sorry lurker, I don't get the sausage roll reference?

I think I will stick to green for the rest of the week to control my snacking (SW chips!), I wasn't keen on the chick peas, but that have been the spice mix I made up. I did find when I was working out every day in the early evening I didn't want to snack nearly as much afterwards. Back to it this week I think

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 16:39

well done on the 2.5lb misdee

misdee · 11/03/2008 16:47

slimming world chips are my saviour. i tend to stick to green days, so i can indulge in them with lots of vinegar, sea salt, and free BBQ sauce. reminds me, i need to make some more tonight.

got weigh in tomorrow morning. not lookign forward to it as wound up at pizza hut for lunch. i only had one slice of veggie pizza, and reaslly went to town on their salad, especially the cous cous. ooops!

SWlurker · 11/03/2008 17:13

Ooh misdee do share the bbq sauce thing??

Ria I thought you and your DH went shopping one day and he was on red so had a sausage roll? Have I got the wrong person/gone a bit mad? That just tickled me, its got meat in it therefore its ok to eat on red, never mind the fat content...

SWlurker · 11/03/2008 17:19

Ooooh i seee just found your threat, you said DS not DH

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 17:28

LOL. I think DH may try and pull that one on me sometime lurker, he did swap his HEB for a packet of frazzles one night

but for now he is happy with crabsticks to pick at (I assumed they were free), kippers with poached eggs, sardines on toast for lunch and a mixed grill with jacket and salad for dinner. I couldn't eat like that. I can't decide if I find it easier to do SW by myself when he is working or to have him at home doing it too "supporting" me. He is doing really well changing his cooking habits though (he is a chef).

Just given the buggest DCs freash smoked chicken and bacon ravioli for their tea. It stinks, I wouldn't want to snack on that. Wonder if I can use it as a tactic?

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 17:29

I am going to try tagliatelle with garlic and chilli this week. It looks and sounds nice.

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 17:31

at my typing. I meant biggest DCs (though they were bugging me) and "fresh".

I will be back tomorrow, on green and fired up for a good week.

peachespaige · 11/03/2008 18:18

Hi Toadette.
I tend to do more reds although this week Im trying to vary. I usually have fruit and yogurt for breakfast, fish or chicken or prawns with a salad and potato or pasta heb for lunch and then burgers, shepherds pie, spagbol, pork chops roast chicken salad etc for tea. I would have these with a heb like potato or pasta.
I like reds because of the meat with my evening meal but prefer greens for lunches.
Reds are great for weekend breakfasts like bacon and egg sarnies!
2.5lbs is great Ria, men tend to lose more and at a quicker rate i believe.

peachespaige · 11/03/2008 18:21

Another tip, Try putting a Muller Lite Yog in the freezer for about an hour, It takes on the consistancy of ice cream and is really nice.

toadette · 11/03/2008 19:20

Thanks, peachespaige

I've just nipped online after weigh-in before i have to go out again. 2lbs off, yeahhh!!!! Don't think I'll get away with being so flexible with the syns this week though so I'm going to sticking to the SW rules 100% for the next 7 days.

Riallymusttryharder · 11/03/2008 19:34

well done toadette!

SWlurker · 11/03/2008 22:41

1.5lbs off for me and the password is cabbage

pippypoppypanda · 11/03/2008 23:03

hey everyone. Got weighed tonight and managed to get another pound off! Thats 1 stone, 5 1/2 all together and I got my club 10 award! am I the only sad one who just loves getting the shiny stickers??? I've completely stuffed my face on everythin ive fancied this week too - does anyone else believe in the weigh-in night "twilight zone?"

sugarlumps · 12/03/2008 08:28

morning girls! well last night was slightly better as i made ds eat the remainders of the bad picnic food! lol so i didnt have that much to pick on! right today is the last day before weigh in so i have to make it count, even though i dont think im going to lose anything
so for brekki i have had 2 ryvita (when did they become so nice?????) with laughing cow light triangles and cucumber
im going to have a muller light at about half 10.
im going to take another 2 ryvitas to work with me and have those and an apple and satsuma for lunch
and for tea im going to have those quorn kebabs - with some left over to niibble on and roasted vegetables in garlic and i might make too many of those to nibble on later as well.

i think thats where im going wrong, i have stopped meal planning so when i get in from work i dont know what i am going to haev for tea, which makes me want to pick whlie i decide??
so tonight im going to plan the next 8 days food!!!!
fingers crossed it works
thanks for the ideas btw!

btw pippypoppypanda i like getting the awards too!!! lol the fact you are being given something back - be it a little sticker - gives you a sence of achievement!

on and also sorry i've not been online much, just got my electricity bill lol ouch! so im trying to cut abck a bit!!! maybe thats why im picking more, coz im not sat at my desk surfing the net (or playing on facebook lol)

OP posts:
SWlurker · 12/03/2008 08:44

Well Pippy I hope there is a twilight zone on WI night as I went out for a meal... bean soup and spaghetti with tomato sauce were amazingly saintly choices, but I'm not convinced that the 2 slices of garlic pizza bread and the apple pie pudding were
Am veing very optimistic stupid and hopeing that as its a one off I can count the 2 HEBs I didn't use and a HEA as the garlic breads!!

AS little P/d off I didn't lose more than 1.5lbs, so am going to try having literally 0-2 syns a day weekdays and having my fun at weekends, and am going to buy lots of speed fruit and start having fruit for breakfast.

Oh and to the person who was wondering if you could save your syns up my consultant said you definately can and recommended it. Apparently you can have 70-105 syns a week and still lose weight, just slower with 105 than 70, but it made sense, all about staying in control rather than losing the plot. Oh, and new consultant brought in a quiche I haven't tried - pasta & sauce quiche, (cooked tomato flavour pasta & sauce, mix in tub of cottage cheese and two eggs and bake) she had added a HEa cheese and sliced tomatoes to the top and it was really scrummy.

toadette · 12/03/2008 10:22

Hi and well done to everyone on their losses so far this week

I have started my new week as I hopefully mean to go on. An orange and yoghurt for breakfast. Going to have a cup of coffee soon then baked potato and beans for lunch. On a green day so will have to plan ahead for dinner and try to keep it as low syn as possible. Thanks for checking about "banking" syns, SWlurker. I'm going to try to keep some for Saturday and relax a bit then. I'm starting running again on Saturday mornings so hopefully that will help my weight loss too.

Yes...the weigh-in night "twilight zone" definitely exixts here! I had a couple of glasses of wine and 6 ryvitas spread with half-fat butter.

Riallymusttryharder · 12/03/2008 10:53

I have been VERY good this morning. I had a banana and cooked DH a big green day SW fry up with a HEB of bacon and a quorn banger (he wasn't that keen on that), the kids also had massive breakfasts, DH out til after lunchso sent him off with loads of fruit and yogurt. I have done my workout and am now about to hae potato cubesm beans and egg for brunch. My favourite.
Roast pork tonight with loads of potato and veg.
Will make a big fruit salad later too.
Good luck and here's to the new week

nikkid21 · 12/03/2008 16:49

feeling a bit fed up with SW today. Weighed in last night and had gained 1lb. Although I had a chinese and some wine at the weekend I only had 6-8 syns & 3 he a day for the rest of the week. What with that and 4 spinning classes I thought that I would have lost.

I've lost 1 1/2 stone and only have 6 1/2 lb to go but am so tempted to call it quites now. Trouble is that my target weight only just squeezes me into the healthy bmi range anyway. I'm fairly happy where I am now as a size 14 (was an 18 before I started) but I still feel that I'll be considered fat/ overweight by people generally.

Sorry for the moan - can't vent to DH as he's constantly stressing that i'm sliding back into the mindset that I had when having an eating disorder.

kid · 12/03/2008 16:51

I must have been so good this week. I weighed myself on Monday, I had put on 5lbs in about 2 or 3 weeks. I just stopped watching what I was eating and it sort of crept back on.

I decided after seeing that weight gain, I was going to be extra good. I weighed myself this morning to see how it was going, I have lost 4lb , even if I don't lose anything else for the rest of this week, I don't care. I thought it would take me weeks to get back to what I was nevermind lose more.
So happy with myself.

pippypoppypanda · 12/03/2008 17:29

Nikkid21 believe me I have weeks when I feel like that too and it puts you on such a downer when you put weight on, especially when you've tried so hard. Something our consultant always does is if you have a good week, and gain, she boosts us up by taking our progress over 2 weeks, rather than one, it could have been a number of factors that made you weigh heavier so just carry on this week and I bet you'l get a lovely surprise when you get on the scales next week. xx
