Oh deary deary me. Tail between my legs well and truly.

Friday - went out drinking. Goodness knows how much I had, and I have the taste for Smirnoff Ice at 9 syns now! THEN I had a massive take-away

Whats worse, I was so hungover on Saturday and couldn't stomach anything before 8pm, when I did eat I'd have eaten ANYTHING if it made me feel better, so I bought LOADS of junk food and ate most of it!

So tail between my legs today and trying desperately to avoid the housemate's pizza she wants to order tonight. Pasta quiche just isn't tempting me as much

pippypoppypanda · 16/03/2008 19:34

I'm like that, its always a disaster when I drink - not with the drink itself just what I eat afterwards!!!!!

sugarlumps · 17/03/2008 11:14

dont worry lurker i did the same thing sat night! i was convinced i wasnt going to drink that much...... yer right! started off with ouzo and coke then hit the wkd blues in town lol
yesterday was bad food wise had some savoury rice stuff for dinner, then went out and had a roast dinner at about 4pm
(i did give he yorkshire and roast pots a miss tho)
then came home and had a chicken dipper sandwich and a bag of crisps and a small bag of mini eggs!ooooooops
back on it today though! just had some rice as i've not been up long, so that was brunch. am going to make some crisp things for picking throughout the day and a chow mein for tea!
need to be good this week!

SWlurker · 17/03/2008 11:55

Well at least my head (and stomach!) is better now!!

I hope potato smileys aren't too bad! I had a whole pasta and sauce quiche with some smileys and beans for dinner last night, and a tin of macaroni cheese later on, but I'm sure all that was probably still better for me than the pizza my friend ate IN FRONT OF ME! She's so cruel!!

toadette · 17/03/2008 12:34

Well...if it's confession time I'd better shuffle on in too

Alcohol was the culprit in my case as well. Had used up all my syns for the week from Wednesday until Saturday. The plan was to be extra good until Tuesday weigh-in. Started well, crispbread and philly light for breakfast (HEa and b). Then went out for Sunday lunch where I avoided starter and dessert and had main course of roast beef and veg (red day) and potatoes (HE b). Was going to eat free foods rest of day. Poured a glass of wine as I sat down to enjoy Dancing on Ice final with dd. (Did anyone else watch it? I am soooo sad, was in tears at Suzanne's second ice-dance it was so good!!).

Anyways...1 small glass of wine turned into 2/3 of a bottle. Then I got the munchies and ate about half a packet of crispbreads. Then about 4 small slices of white (yes, WHITE!) bread with butter. So have busted the syns allowance big time.

HELP! Need strategy for tomorrow night's weigh-in. I can live with staying same weight as last week but I really, really don't want a gain

peachespaige · 17/03/2008 13:34

Hello, sounds like we've all been naughty! I was doing great until friends came over and suggested all of us (inc kids) went out for a curry, dp agreed before |I could make an excuse. I cannot order healthy from a curry house, no way so went to town alcohol inc! Then was good sunday but then dp ordered a chinese!!! Which I ate well Im out tonight for St Patricks day, would be rude not too, we are an Irish household after all! Ho hum.
Im cooking the new red leicester and onion quorn sausages, not free but figure the cheese is an hea???

toadette · 17/03/2008 14:10

Happy St Paddy's Day, peachespaige!

Following this week's dieting disaster I'm hoping I can celebrate St Pat's Day alcohol-free here (I'm in NI!) but it seems rude not to have a glass of something, slainte

toadette · 17/03/2008 17:44

Have stuck to the SW rules all day so back on track. So far I have had lots of fruit, a scan bran with smoked salmon and quark (was very tasty) and made a big plate of SW chips for a late lunch to keep hunger pangs at bay until dinner tonight. Was initially going to try to exist on very little until weigh-in tomorrow despite knowing how unhealthy this is. Gave myself a good talking to and decided against that route as will inevitably lead to me succumbing to the wrong foods if I'm feeling really hungry. Will see what weigh-in shows tomorrow night and start afresh into a new week. This week is my AF (or star week in SW-speak) so I normally do go off the rails a bit anyway especially with the carbs. Might go for a walk later as well.

How's everyone else getting on?

nikkid21 · 17/03/2008 18:26

Am ticking along slowly this week. Have been good apart from the bottle and half of red that dh and I shared last night. Even took my own SW picnic to Legoland on Saturday and refrained from eating Mc Donalds with dh and kids on the way home.

Feeling v pmt today and dh on night shift. Never a good combo as I tend to graze my way through the contents of the biscuit tin . Have saved all of my HE today so that I can cheese on toast or something later once kids are in bed.

Had spring greens & shepherds pie topped with swede for dinner tonight. Yummy comfort food and only a couple of syns. I used the Asda sachet mix of sheperds pie flavour for the mince and it was only 6 1/2 syns per pack. Seeing as it's done me 3 portions I'm happy with that.

Weigh in tomorrow night so am going for a 45 min spinning class tomorrow and will not eat anything after 11am. Hope everyone is doing well

justplainoldRia · 17/03/2008 18:37

I've been decorating the DSs room and can't cope with planning food too. The upside of that is I don't eat an awful lot when I'm busy with stuff round the house.

I'm still completely off eggs. I wonder if that's the point of free food - you eat so much of it eventually you can't face it

I am very of all this takeaway and wine talk, but am too skint this week so won't be having either

weigh-in tomorrow.

Have a good night out!

pippypoppypanda · 17/03/2008 19:50

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! I'm DREADING weigh in tomorrow night, I'm gonna have to be in full starvation mode through the day tomorrow if I stand any chance of losing

toadette · 17/03/2008 19:59

Hi all, still sticking to the diet so far...mushroom omelette, rice (and curry sauce, ? syns) for dinner. So far I have been sticking to the Pepsi Max, might have a glass of wine before bed.

Pippy, will think of you tomorrow when I'm on restricted rations too. I will be surviving on fruit and water until weigh-in tomorrow night (and that's to aim for a 'maintain' rather than a loss!).

pippypoppypanda · 17/03/2008 20:15

God its awful isnt it then you're sitting at class with a loudly rumbling stomach drooling over what you're going to stuff down your neck the minute you get out of there! lol

pippypoppypanda · 17/03/2008 20:32

I love hearing about how people are getting on it gives me loads of motivation. Do you think we could have a round up of weight loses so far after we've been weighed this week???? THEN we can celebrate by sharing (a few) bottles of wine???

toadette · 17/03/2008 20:39

Omg, are you my secret twin, pippy? I sit in weigh-in so close to passing out from hunger that a few direct hits from the frylight bottle on the display table even start to look appetising.

I might be too ashamed to post my result this week unless it's possible to lose half a stone in a day??? Do like the sound of the wine though...

justplainoldRia · 17/03/2008 20:50

Celebrate or drown our sorrows!!!

SWlurker · 17/03/2008 23:10

am off wine for life....

if only...

sugarlumps · 18/03/2008 08:50

i think everyone does that before weigh in lol i know i do! live on ryvitas and water the few hours before hahaha.
besides sat night im doing quite well so far this week, but theres still time for a slip up before thursday
today i've had no brekki- dont feel like eating for some reason, but i have my period so it may be down to that, i feel really bloated. but im going to take some ryvita and cheese spread to work with a bag of sugar snap peas.oooooo i love them at the moment!
will post later on to let you know if im still being good

Have just had a very filling breakfast of herbal tea, roll on weigh-in! My goal this week is to refrain from spending most of my syns on wine so that I can have some choccy at weekend ie 'help' the dc's eat their Easter eggs, yum

SWlurker · 18/03/2008 14:57

...Wonders if eating half a melon today, seeing as it is super speed food makes up for the zillions of syns over the weekend...

justplainoldRia · 18/03/2008 14:59

1lb off

I am pleased but surprised given the effort I've failed to put in

If I could get my life sorted losing weight would be so much easier.

Good luck for tonight's weigh-ins.

SWlurker · 18/03/2008 16:38

Well done Ria!

I was thinking... hopefully when I get weighed in tonight I'll get my motivation back...however, for all of us lot what can we do to get everyone inspired and motivated? Post recipes? have a "challenge" week, e.g. eat as many speed foods as you can, try a different free food every day or something like that?

Come on everyone who lurks on here(should change my name I'm hardly a lurker any more!! ) pipe up with suggestions

SWlurker · 18/03/2008 16:58

.. if you want I can organise us all into it? I've seen it work well on other SW chat websites. (I nick ideas from all over the place, me!) They just all post as often as they like what the've managed to do that week.

Maybe we could do..

a "veg box" week - when you next go shopping buy seasonal fruit and veg and try something you haven't done before - be it a weird type of veg or a new way of cooking it?

or Healthy extra week - try out new HE's

Recipe week - create a new recipe yourself or nick one from someone in class and post it?

Saucy secrets week - try new sauces from the book (we could post the recipes)

Just thought it might help those of us stuck in ruts and those of us who can't get to class to get soem new ideas and get that weight shifting! What do you think? Shall we launch veg box week??!

nikkid21 · 18/03/2008 18:24

I'll give veg box week a go as I already get it delivered. This week they included jerusalem artichokes. They look like weird knobbly spud things As i've never tried artichoke of any kind some suggestions as to how to cook / eat would be great.

Just come back from weigh in and 2lb off this week. I'm pretty pleased esp as start week is due to start any day and I have the pmy munchies from hell. Only 4.5 lb to go

toadette · 18/03/2008 19:18

Hi, well done everyone on your losses

Just to level things out a bit, I have put ON a pound ! Well, I s'pose I did veer off-plan quite splendidly this week

I am soooo up for a challenge! Can I suggest an exercise challenge as another possibility and also a drink MORE water one - think both these make a big difference to weight loss if put into practice.

Will launch myself into veg box week then from tomorrow. Think we all should post as much as possible too, chatting on here might stop me taking up residence in the kitchen so much.

Is anyone having their weigh-in wine? Can't decide whether to treat myself or not (have already had a 'Twilight Zone' SW-unfriendly dinner after weigh-in).

Ah well, tomorrow is the start of a whole new week. My pledge to you all is this:

  • I will take part in Veg Box week
  • I will drink lots of water and not so much wine
  • I will exercise for at least 30 minutes every day
  • I would like to see a 2.5lb weight loss next week

Anyone else want to goal-set too?
