I don't know if anyone is around but I need a bit of support.

Joined SW 6 weeks ago, I am 5'5" and weighed 10st 6 1/2lb and just wanted to slim down into a size 12 from Next (all my old clothes from before ds2)

Anyway, my 10% loss would take me to 9st 4 1/2 lb which is pretty much what I was before having both my boys.

I have lost 11 1/2lbs and now weigh 9st 10lbs and thought that 9st 9lb sounded like a nice weight to get down to BUT I have lost loads of weight off my boobs. For the first time in my life I am self conscious about my body!!! Basically I have lost my DD cup and am now a C cup. I don't mind having small boobs but I don't want saggy boobs. My waist is nice and slender and I have lost my muffin top but I feel now that I need to tone it up rather than lose weight.

So what I am basically asking is do you think my SW consultant will let me set my PAT (target) at where I am already at 9st 10?

Weigh in is tonight!!!

SWlurker · 28/02/2008 17:58

Just found something green people might like, from the website;

For free green snacks why not try;

Chick peas Jacket potato Cherry tomatoes
Fresh or frozen fruit Corn on the cob Noodles with soy sauce
Pickled beetroot/
gherkin/onions Bamboo shoots/
water chestnuts Hard-boiled eggs
New potatoes Baby sweetcorn Baked beans or
mushy peas

Hope thats might give soemone some inspiration!

Nikkid how about squash if you can find a friendly person to play with? you don't have to even know how to play, just whack the ball around a bit and have a laugh - its the one thing thats really made me notice a change in shape.

K x

SWlurker · 28/02/2008 18:03

Fizzy lemonade - I'm sure your consultant would let you set your PAT wherever and would encourage you to get going on body magic.

When I was at target (oh how long ago that was!) I was only just inside my healthy weight range but I liked that weight and didn't want to go any further. I think you're allowed to set a PAT anywhere, regardless of if its inside or above the healthy weight range. In any case if you did decide to go any slimmer you can always change your PAT. Good lucj and keep us posted!

Sparkler · 28/02/2008 21:40

1lb off tonight - I know it's a loss but it's just soooooooooo slow.

Sparkler · 28/02/2008 21:41

.....commiserating with pizza, wine and new york cheesecake

iom08 · 28/02/2008 21:44

I've lapsed already, gave into chocolate cheesecake temptation. I'm sure God made me fat for a reason. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Sparkler · 28/02/2008 21:57

Just think of it as a flexi day

iom08 · 28/02/2008 21:59

will do, yippee my guilt is ausaged (sp?)

kid · 28/02/2008 22:04

I am completly off track at the moment, I don't know whats got into me.
I am sticking to SW for breakfast and dinner, but lunch has gone out of the window as I am at work each day. I have been shopping tonight so hopefully the next few days will be sorted.

I am feeling so ill at the moment, my throat and head are killing me. I am blaming that on my inability to diet! Any excuse will do really. I am scared to weigh myself which is silly. Maybe the shock of a gain will get me back on track sharpish. I might brave the scales in the morning.

sugarlumps · 29/02/2008 08:14

fizzylemonade - just a thought but have you tried avons boob cream? las time i lost my weight i used it (cant remember what its called) but they do a range which is supposed to tone your skin. i found it really helped to stop the saggyness. i used that and perfect body sculpting cream i think the boob cream is £5 and the perfect body cream is about £11. but i saw a huge difference in my stretch marks and loose skin! it may be worth a try!

seeing as today is the last day in feb i will post my total loss for feb - 6.5lb, taking me to 18.5lb in total!
very happy with that!

I weighed myself this morning, I have stayed the same for the past 3 weeks. Bit of a miracle really as I have been eating sweets, cakes, bagels and had a few take aways. I really should try harder though, I won't get away with being lucky for ever!

Nappy addict, I think you're allowed any sort of cheese at all as a healthy extra. As said on the other thread quark is free, but for more tasty ones you just need to work out what quantity would be 6 syns, and use that.

My friend who used to do slimming world says you can't just work out 6 syns of any cheese for a healthy extra - you are only allowed the ones in the book.

Could someone ask their consultant who is right - swlurker or my friend?

nappyaddict · 29/02/2008 23:06

Christie

I'm sure you know what you're doing, but after being on plan for such a long time, bad habits can appear.

Are you weighing absolutely everything that isn't free food and that what you assume if free, is actually free? Over time you might have started to guess what 28g cheese looks like or 28g of cereal and be getting it drastically wrong. Get some good electronic scales if you have been estimating your weights.

Are you keeping a close eye on your syns - and checking that the syn values haven't changed over the years without you noticing?
Read your Food Optimising book again, it's often surprising what you forget over a period of time.

Are you eating enough? If not then your body will complain and either you wont lose weight as your body will be holding on to everything it can. This seems to be a familiar complaint in our group. Make sure you eat 3 good meals a day and all your healthy extras.

Are you having mainly green days? It takes longer to digest green day food and comments that you will still lose the same amount of weigh over the same period, it will just happen differently?!

Have you tried Mix2Max or Success Express - the change of routine could get your weight loss moving again.

Do you eat any superfree fruit/veg? If you ate 100g of grapes (not superfree) and 100g of Mulberries then you would consume less calories eating the mulberries than you would the grapes and so filling up on superfree fruit/veg rather than normal ones will mean you consume less calories and lose weight quicker.

Are you drinking enough water? If not and you are having lots of green days then you are not enabling your body to digest the food properly and you will probably feel all bunged up and horrid.

Are you having enough variety? I try to vary my menus each week and try different / new things. I think this is important as if you eat the same all the time (you and your body will get bored!) It is also important to treat yourself and allow yourself naughty things occasionally.

Are you consuming hidden syns? It seems the same product i.e. a Sainsurys packet rice can have more syns or not be free as compared to the same product made by Bacherlors. For example, I have been devouring those Heinz Mean Beanz but had not appreciated that some of them (the Tikka flavour for example) were syns (I haven?t had any but would have done if I had been able to find them! And I would have thought they were free until I looked). The Italian beans for example are free so it can get very confusing?..

Are you having the correct healthy extras? I think the Nimble bread is disgusting and wont buy it again. It doesn?t even toast well and the nimble I have frozen breaks apart when you try to get a slice so a total disaster!! I really like the Hovis Seed Sensations but this is not on the list in the book or on the website so I have to syn it ? 1 slice = 4 or 5 syns. If I was being really ignorant, I could pretend it was my HEB although all I would be doing is cheating myself as I would then be having those extra 5 syns.

The slimming world website gets updated all the time with the new healthy extras both A and B so it is worth keeping an eye on. Also the Slimming World Magazine is a good point of reference for food news including new healthy extras and products which are free or what their syn value is etc.

Were you on your period? This can be a factor and you should let your consultant know when it is your period week so that any pattern can be picked up on. Even if you are not actually having a period you might still get all the symptoms. Isn?t being a woman wonderful?!

Do you do a food diary? I do a food diary and find that if I have to write it down, I don?t eat it!! Although I do slip up occasionally...

Your eating habits are changing for the better and when I have a day when I syn overload I don?t worry about it as I know that overall I am eating much better now than I ever have done. Don?t beat yourself up about it. it is important to have variety and if that means having one day a week when you don?t follow the plan then so be it. If you go out for roast dinner on a Sunday then have the Yorkshire pudd and the gravy - just say I will have one Yorkshire pud unlike me who would want half a dozen! As I said before xmas, I was synning lots at the weekends and still losing weight. It was only if I was really bad that I would put on. Overall it might take me longer to get to my target weight but I don?t want to be miserable doing it and so I will continue to enjoy my treats and you should too.

Please don?t be disheartened that you have put on so much there may be an innocent reason for it and you may find you have a really good loss next week.

misdee · 29/02/2008 23:19

fab post nappy addict!!!

well i finally found this thread

oops sorry christie you have stayed the same not put on

Sparkler · 01/03/2008 01:26

C'mon Christie - we are in this together. We can do it!
I've had an extremely flexible day today. Been on a hen night tonight for a Japanese. The food wasn't a problem but the alcohol may well have been .
I'm sat here now munching on things I shouldn't and it's very late at night.
I will be back on track tomorrow though.

sugarlumps · 01/03/2008 08:52

morning girlys! has anyone got this months magazine? i made the quorn curry from it last night and it was absolutely gorgeous!!!! really creamy and not to spicy! and all FREE!!!! (on green)(without rice free on red)
im off out tonight again so im going to have to use flexi syns for alcahol lol!
im not sure hat day to make it today. i htink i may go superfree until i get some inspiration. i've go the rest of the quorn curry left in the fridge for lunch! yum

OP posts:
kid · 01/03/2008 09:18

I have the magazine but haven't made anything from it. I did buy some quorn last week, it was on special offer in Sainsburys, buy 3 for 2 or somthing like that.

I did make some spaghetti bolognese the other night with the mince. I used passata, mushrooms, onions and garlic but it was horrible! The only way I can describe the taste of the quorn is it tasted smoked/ Maybe its the way I cooked it, too high, too fast. I didn't add any oil or fry light to it. Maybe that would improve the taste or is it always smokey tasting?

I will try the curry as I have a bag of quorn left. Hopefully it will be yummy.

kid, with the mince i chuck it in at the end of cooking. just to warm it through really.

i love the quorn curry. its like my staple food atm.

sugarlumps · 01/03/2008 09:58

kid - try addidng some bovril beef stock to your quorn mince let it simmer in that for a while then add your passata, quorn doest really taste of anything its the stock you cook it in which gives it its flavour!
spicy Quorn curry
1 onion, 1 garlic clove, 1 chilli (however i forgot to put the chilli in.)
200g can of sweetcorn
fry light
1tsp grated ginger
1tsp each of ground cumin, corriander & medium curry powder
300g pack quorn chicken style pieces
250g carton passata
4floz/113ml chicken bovril stock
4oz/ 113g very low fat natural fromage frais
boiled rice to serve

1 prepare the ingredients: chop the onion crush the garlic, deseed and finely chop the chilli, drain the sweetcorn.
2 heat a pan sprayed with fry light and cook the onion and garlic for 2-3 mins, add the chilli ginger cumin corriander and curry powder and fry for a furthur minute.
3 add the quorn and stir to coat with the spices. pour in the passata and the stock and reduce to simmer and cook for 15 mins until slightly reduced, add the sweetcorn and heat through.
4 remove from the heat and stir through the fromage frais, scatter fresh corriander over the curry and serve with the boiled rice.
5 sit back and enjoy!

I can vouch for the burgers in this month's magazine. V.yummy - the kids and dh love them too. Consultant said that instead of a cheese slice you can also mould the burger meat around a babybel so that you have a sort of cheese surprise inside the burger.
